Alpha’s Virgin Wife Chapter 216

Alpha’s Virgin Wife by Baby Charlene

Chapter 216 Exposed

Pishan paced restlessly back and forth the cave. His heart was beating so hard, he could literally hear it.

“Oh! Sukie, where are you?” He gritted, making a fist of his hands.

It’s been two days, two days since Sukie was meant to be there, but she wasn’t and it was badly eating him up. Where could she be? Why was she taking so long? Could she be in danger? Did her sisters finally discover her secret?

He was extremely worried and couldn’t even breathe. Maybe, he should find a way to get to the witches Palace and know if she was still there.

Urgh! He was thinking lamely. There was no way he’d make it alive to the withdrew Palace. But, if something was wrong, Sukie would’ve written to him, right? Yes! She’d have let him know. So, why didn’t she?

He found a place to sit and buried his head in his palms. His child…Oh! For the goddess sake, he really hoped they were safe. He couldn’t afford to lose either of them.

He stayed morosely for a long time, until he heard strange footsteps coming from the entrance. It sounded weak, and when the footsteps stopped, he swiftly lifted his head to behold Sukie standing right there, dressed in her usual red cloak with it’s hood over her head. But the look on her face….it was k*il*ling.

“Su…Sukie?” Pishan faltered as he feebly got on his feet, his breath seizing.

Shock and happiness battled inside him, but shock eventually won when his eyes found blood dripping down her legs.

He grasped his next breath in a gasp as his eyes dimmed in disbelief, and that was when it became all clear to him – the look on her face, that was when it became so clear.

They stood apart for the while, just staring at each other until swiftly, Sukie reached for the floor.

“Sukie!!!” Pishan yelled as he ran to her, but she had already landed before he could. Nevertheless, he lifted her up and placed her head on his thighs, his eyes still catching the blood.

“What happened to you?” He asked in a shaky tone. “What… happened?”

As Sukie stared into his eyes, seeing the tears in them, she let down hers.

“I’m sorry, Pishan” She whimpered weakly. “I lost our child, it’s gone”.

Her words were like a two-edged sword piercing through Pishan’s heart. He felt stabbed, felt betrayed, felt hurt. His hands shook as he held onto her dearly and his heart ached more as her words echoed in his ears. The child was gone? He wasn’t going to be a father?

Silently, he kissed on her hair and wept. He tried consoling her that everything would be fine, but deep down, he needed to hear those worse from someone else.

NEXT DAY

Pishan walked into the cave with the two baskets filled with fruits, food and water.

His heart cracked when he found Sukie sitting on the rock, her hands wrapped up like one shivering from cold. Her red hood was over her head and coupled with her broken mood, she looked just like a shadow of herself.

Pishan shook his head and sighed, then gathering every courage he could, he budged towards her.

“I’m back” He muttered as he placed the heavy baskets behind where she sat.

Sukie said nothing nor lift her head to see him. And tenderly, Pishan went to crouch in front of her.

“How’re you feeling? Has the bleeding stopped?” He cooed as slowly, he lifted her chin so she could look at him.

“I…will be fine” She stated inaudibly and lowered her head again. Her broken sight was ruining Pishan in a terrible way.

“I know it hurts, Sukie” He touched her cheeks. “Believe me, it hurts me too. But… you just need to move on. You need to get strong”.

Silence dropped in for a few seconds until Sukie exhaled and stood up. Finally… With her hands still wrapped around her, she took some steps away from Pishan and turned to back him.

“Move on to what, exactly, Pishan?” She uttered. “Move on to where? My home? I can never go back there ’cause I’m sure I’ll be k*il*led on sight. And here? I can’t stay here either ’cause it’s totally dangerous for me. If a wolf gets to see me, they’d raise an alarm and have me k*il*led. I’m rejected, Pishan, I don’t have anywhere to return to”.

“Please, don’t say that ..” Pishan strolled to her.

“But, it’s the truth!” She sniffed. “My life has been ruined, I lost my child, and I lost my place. I…I also put your life in danger because if anyone gets to know you’ve been helping me and you were responsible for that baby, you’d be dead as well. I’m actually lucky the magical map was destroyed two months ago else, my sisters would’ve stormed this place already. But the Supreme Sister was working on a new map and I’m not sure how long it’d take to get ready”.

“And I don’t care” He held her cheeks. “Your problem is my problem and I’m telling you – we’ll get out of this way”.

Tears slid down her cheeks, but Pishan was there to quickly wipe them off.

“I feel so terrible that I lost the child that caused all these” She went on. “Although…I just had it for a few days, I felt so attached to it and was already getting ready to become a mother. I… I was looking forward to it, Pishan, and it’s quite unfortunate it went too soon”.

“There are still a million opportunities to have more, Sukie” He cooed. “You’re still a woman, you still have a womb, and if you give me the permission, I’ll make you carry as many babies as possible because I believe we’ll have forever to ourselves”.

Sukie bent her head and chuckled tearfully. “How can you be so sure about that? Our union is forbidden”.

“It’s forbidden in the eyes of others, but not for me” He responded. “Don’t lose hope, Sukie. We’ll get through this”.

Afterwards, he pulled her into a hug and they stayed that way for a long time.

“I’m sorry, I’ll be gone for a couple of days” he said as they finally seperated from the hug. “The King’s fight is tomorrow and we need to ride out today. So, I’m likely to be away for…”

“It’s okay, I understand” Sukie smiled ruefully. “I… actually hope your King wins. And I hope you’re safe too”.

“Sure, I will” Pishan sighed. “I brought enough food, fruits and water that should last you while I’m away. And there are enough woods over there, just incase you need to warm any of the meals, you could start up a fire and do so. I’m sure you’ll be safe in here as people hardly come to this area. But just incase anything comes up and you need my help, do not relent to write to me. Okay?”

“Okay” Sukie muttered with a slight nod.

Afterwards, Pishan pulled her into another hug.

“I love you – so much” He whispered.

And in a faint tone, she responded:

“I love you too”.

Pishan rode back to the Palace and went straight to the King’s chambers to know if he was ready. Thinking about the fight the next day made him kind of nervous. Of course, the King was a powerful one, but what if Ryder had al ulterior motive and came up with a trick? That was the reason Pishan needed to be there to make sure negative things do not happen.

He knocked on the King’s door and went in when his voice ushered him in.

“Greetings, My King” He bowed.

“Where have you been, Pishan? Do you realize we have a journey ahead of us?” King Dakota grumbled as he fixed his collars in front of the mirror.

“I… apologize, My King. I had something important to fix” Pishan answered with his head bowed.

“You should go get ready and meet me at the stables. By the way,” Dakota paused and took a letter from the table. “A letter came in not long ago from the witches”.

Pishan’s heart skipped a bit at the mention of that name. The witches?! He couldn’t even cloak the surprise from his eyes.

“The…The witches?” He scoffed. “Why?”

“They sent a letter not just to me, but to every other Alpha and VampLord. The Supreme Sister claims one of the witches named Sukie is pregnant and she strongly believes a wolf is responsible for it. Thus, the sacred rule has been broken and an investigation needs to be carried out. She claims the witch in question is currently on the run. I don’t know, Pishan, do you think this is true? Which of our own would fall for a witch? I truly don’t believe it”.

Pishan could swear his heart wasn’t beating anymore and he was only but a standing corpse.

This was it…it was all getting exposed. He gulped hard and tried finding the right words to say, but couldn’t.

“Pishan?” Dakota called. “Are you alright? Have you been listening to me?”

“Uh…Of course” He shook his head. “I’m… just shocked, you know? But, I think it’s possible”.

“Maybe we should talk about this later on. We have a journey ahead. So, let’s go” Dakota turned away and retreated to his inner room. But it took Pishan some time to be able to move his feet.
