Chapter 96 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)
Walking back alone towards our room, I’m thinking what will happen after I leave again tonight.
I told to Am that I planned to fix the alliance between the vampires and werewolves. I know it’s almost impossible to do that, but I believe I can do something. Werewolves and Vampire will be in good terms, maybe not now but soon.
Leaving again after telling that I stay with him will hurt him, a lot. I don’t want to leave, but I don’t have any better choice at the moment. A sigh escape from lips as I closed my eyes, my life is very complicated.
Why can’t I have a peaceful life? I stopped from walking when I saw him at the end of the hallway. He got the smile in his lips that I always wanted to see every time I saw him.
But unfortunately, I’m afraid that he won’t ever show that smile on me. It’s a pity, why we need to suffer like this?
I know, I know that I’m being unfair to him again. Lying, making him believe that I won’t leave him. But what can I do? I’m just like this, if I plan to do something, I probably do it at any cost.
I fake a smile as I started to approach him. I don’t want to show to him that I’m bothered, sad and guilty. If possible, I don’t want him to think that I’m not okay.
“Where did you go?” he asked me in his low voice as he put his hand around my waist. I widened my smile, “I went to Amanda, we just had a little chitchat.” I half-lied.
I saw him nodded his head as a sign of understanding. “Alright, go ahead and get change.” I look up him with a confused look.
“Why?” he smiled boyishly and gave me a meaningful look.
“Let’s go outside,” he answered. “To exactly where?” I asked once again. “To your cabin, let’s spend our night there. Have a moment together.” It’s not bad to have a moment with him for the last time before I leave right?
Yeah, it’s not. I nodded, “Sure, I’ll just go and prepare. See you later,” I said and kissed him on his cheeks.
Before he can talk, I run away from him while smiling. Before I each the end If the hallway, I turned around to see his reaction. He was smiling so widely while staring at me.
I playfully waved my hand and wink at him.
“Bye, see yah later.” I mouthed and completely leaved. I couldn’t help but to smile in my own.
Okay, let’s enjoy this moment now. As I walk inside our room, I went in the bathroom to take a bath. I don’t want to waste any time, now that I only have small span of time left with him.
A few hours later, I found myself having fun with him in my old cabin. I watched him smiling while catching fish with his bare hands on the river falls. It’s actually funny to watch him like this, so silly if him.
A moment ago, he was too proud to say that this time he can catch one. I told to him, it’s just easy to catch fishes, so told to me, as a challenge, he’ll catch without using any fishing rope, just his hand.
That’s very confident of him haha, so I replied, show me what he can do.
This is what are we do before the coronation night, the time wherein I found out his first intention why he looked for me after rejecting me five years ago.
It’s quite very unfortunate because why everything turned into like this? We are okay now, why there will be always this someone who will destroy what we started?
But just upon thinking about the other side. It’s actually good that I learnt to know about that matter, because of it, I found out who really he is. Anyway, in this world, there’s no perfect life, no one is perfect.
“Love, won’t you join me here!” I was being pulled back into reality when I heard his loud yet manly voice. I glanced at his direction, he’s not catching fish now, instead looking at me intently.
I let go of a smile, “Of course, I’ll join. Wait me up!” I yelled back. I started to move towards the water. The stone is quite slippery, one wrong move, I’ll stumble and fall in the water. So, I’m doing everything to stay balanced.
“Do you need help?” he asked with worry in his voice. Do I look that weak in his eyes? Geez, I can’t blame him though for thinking that way.
“No, I can take care of myself. Wait me there!” I saw him stopped moving and just stared at me. Half of my body was on the water now, this river falls is very deep geez.
I stopped walking when I thought about something witty. Haha, let me see what will be his reaction.
“Zach!” I called for his attention. His brow rose up and gave me a meaningful look.
“Why? You can’t move now? I can go towards you and get you here,” he said and was about to go and get me. I couldn’t help but to burst into laughter as I stopped him. “No, not that. Look over there, I saw something!” I said and pointed his back. He quickly look back to see where I pointed.
A witty yet demonic smile crept in my lips as I dived down the water. This is just a prank, I wanted to know his reaction when he saw me not around.
“I saw nothing…” he probably noticed that I’m not around.
“Harper, show yourself now.” He said, probably thinking that I’m just pranking him. I swan towards the large stone and hide there. I was quite far from him but I can still hear his voice, even his murmur, thanks to my enhance hearing ability.
I crossed my arm on my chest as I watched him calling for my name.
“Harper, this is not a good joke. Get off the water now, you can’t hold your breath for a long time.” I actually can, but I’m not beneath the water now. I giggled silently, this is more hilarious than I thought.
“Harper! I’m not joking now, show yourself!” hmm, nope. I saw him started to move on the water, he’s probably looking for me underneath. A few seconds later, he decided to dived down the water.
He’s really worried now, I’m starting to feel guilty now. I shouldn’t prank him.
“Harper! Where are you? This is not funny you know!” he yelled as he looked around the place. Prank gone wrong I think, I swam towards his direction and hug him from his back. “I’m sorry, love.” I whispered in his ear. I felt his body stiffened, “It’s just a prank.” I continued.
He remove my hand on his waist and face me. I can see worry in his eyes, “I was afraid that something bad really happen to you. Please don’t joke like that.” I just nodded and rested my head on his chest.
That just a prank for now, but tonight I’m really leaving. Just upon thinking about that now gives me head ache. “I don’t know what to do if I’ll lose you again. You’re my queen now, the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life.” He whispered as he embraced me. I closed my eyes, the guilt in my heart is getting bigger and bigger.
This is hard for me too, I don’t want to leave but I can’t be so selfish. I realized it’s not him who doesn’t deserve me, it’s me who doesn’t deserve him. I’m a mess, too complicated.
“Let’s end our drama here. Let’s just enjoy this, should we?” I asked and smile softly. He nodded his head and kissed my temple.
“Yes we should.” I nodded as well. “So, show me your fishing skill, proud man.” I joked and playfully wink. He chuckled at what I saw and for the last time hug me and k*iss me on my cheek.
“Sure, watch and learn love.” He said proudly and winked back. I just laugh and shook my head in amusement.
I grinned when I saw him starting to catch, haha, this is so funny to watch. The well-known werewolf king can’t even catch a single fish. Could be this is his weakness?
“Are you good?” I teased him, he’s having a hard time now. He jokingly glared at me which causing me to laugh again.
“Chill, I’m just kidding you know,” he pouted like a child. Haha, he’s so cute.
“You know, you can admit that you can’t fish with your bare hands.” I joked once again.
Time to make fun of him haha
“Can you stop, I’m focusing here. And one more thing, you can’t even catch a single fish with your hand too.” Is he sure about that?
I grinned, “Well then, let’s have a bet. Who ever will catch first will win, and the prize, the winner will tell to the loser.” I told to him confidently.
He raised an eyebrow, “Are you challenging me, Love?” I nodded to confirm.
“Yes, scared?” He shook his head and laugh.
“I love your guts but deal, prepare to lose love.” I grinned wider. How sure, “Tell that to yourself, love.” I mimicked his voice. The two of us stared into each other, “In a count of three, the bet will officially begin. In three,” I counted.
“Two…”
“One..”
“Go..”
I started to dived on the water and look for my target. I saw some fished beneath, now I’m wondering why he can’t catch a single one. So dumb of him, geez.
A few moments later, I was laughing hard because I won. It only take a few minutes for me to catch one.
“This is so unfair, are you sure that you’re just a human. You outsmart me in this matter.” He said while frowning. Haha, not so sure. I’m not really a human, I just smirked at him. “Prepare to lose, love.” I mocked him by mimicking his voice a while ago.
He frowned even more, “That’s not funny you know, you just hurt my ego now.” He said. I bite my inner lips to suppress my laughter. Haha, did I hurt his ego that bad?
“Don’t be such a dramatic person, Zach. Better luck next time.” He rolled his eyes on me, wow, the attitude. I chuckled and tapped his back. “Don’t cry because of that love, haha. Don’t worry, I’ll ask about the prize later.” He stared at me.
“What prize?” he asked innocently. I raised an eyebrow, “A punishment for the loser.” I answered back with a grin.
“Oh right, don’t gave me a hard punishment.” He joked and laughed. “Believe me, I won’t.” I said with an evil smile
It’s quite scary when you smile like that you know.” I smiled and giggled. “Am I?” he nodded and smile too.
“Yeah, it’s giving me goosebumps.”
Haha, that’s very exaggerated. I shook my head and playfully elbowed his waist.
“Ouch!”
“You are overreacting haha, anyway, walk faster. I’m starving, we still need to cook for our lunch.” I hurry him up.
He nodded and snake his arm around my waist. “Hold tight,” I’m a little confused but then he suddenly carried me in bridal way and run faster.
This is not what I mean, we can still walk back to the cabin. Geez, so silly of him but I like it.
