Chapter 109 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)
“Are you really sure that you’ll go?” James asked me once again. I nodded, “Yes. Don’t worry I’ll be alright. Maybe, I just can’t go back for a few days, their camp is quite far from here.” I said honestly while fixing my shoelace.
“Alright, have a safe travel now then. If you can’t go back here for one week, I’ll send someone to look for you.” I nodded my head, I know they were just worry about me.
“Okay,” I replied and stand straight. I look on Samantha, then to Lilian, then to my half brother, Troy. He nodded at me so I nod back. “Be safe.” He mouthed. I will.
“I will go now, see you all soon.” I said with a smile.
“See yah.” They replied. I nodded once again, after that, I turned my back. This is very risky and I hope the result will be worth it. I closed my eyes and let Venice take over my body, this will be a long run.
I know I will encounter some problem on my way but I hope I’ll catch up with them before they will go back on the werewolf’s territory.

When I feel Venice already take over my body, I run not so fast for me to conserve my energy. It’s been an hour since they leave the vampire palace, knowing there speed, they were probably near the camp place now.
A few minutes of running, I felt thirsty so I stopped running and decided to have a walk. While drinking water, I’m thinking if I really did the right thing. He said a while ago that he’s not willing to listen to me anymore, is he true about his words? or he’s just too mad?
letting out a sigh, I look up the sky where the moon located at. They said, if the moon goddess give you challenges and problem, there’s always a reason for it. so, what is her reason why I’m experiencing all of this? Why?
“I guess no one will answer my question, I look down and smile sadly. No one can answer the questions inside my mind, perhaps. No one.
I decided to continue running, an half hour later, I reach the west territory.
Above a cliff, I Can see where they camped. I saw twelve tents in total, in the center, I saw one big tent which is different from other tents. Probably his.
Okay, I got this. I leave on the cliff and went to the camp. It will cost just a few minutes for me to reach the place. As I arrived there, I sneak on my mate’s tent. Masking my scent, I make my self invisible.
I saw him talking to Lance, “You said you wanted to talk to her, you got the chance earlier, why you change your mind?”
Lance asked him. That’s what I’m thinking also.
“She lied, I don’t want to listen to her anymore. Did you just see what she reacted? She acted like as if she’s not guilty on what she did.” I closed my fist tightly, I’m guilty but I choose not to show it them. Only if he knew what I’m thinking and why I did it in the first place.
“Are you sure about that? You know her, she’s not doing anything without any valid reason. Why don’t you ask her why?” Lance asked him again. Zach look at him and raised an eyebrow, “I did but she said I need to wait. I’m tired of waiting and in the end all I just get is a lie? fake promises? absurd indeed.” I bit my inner lips. That’s what he’s thinking? All I say is a lie? I sarcastically smile, damn why it hurts a lot?
“Yeah, because we are in the middle of peace talk with the vampire?” Lance insisted. “You know what? I tell that there’s something she’s hiding from us that we failed to see at first. So, it’s her fault totally that she lied about her identity.” Zach raised his eyebrow.
“Really, how could you say so?” he said as he walk towards his bed and sat at the edge of it. He’s patiently waiting for Lance’s word.
“Maybe, she don’t want us to know that she’s a vampire because of the conflict between us and them. Or maybe that was the side effect of rejecting her five years ago. You got a hard time on earning her trust.”
“It’s that your theory? So cheap. If she trust me, she will tell who really she is. She will tell me that she’s actually a vampire not human.” I wish that was easy to do, but I know it’s not. It will never be that easy, how can I tell him who really I am?
“That’s not cheap. It’s you who is cheap here, Zach.” He glared at him. “Are you f*uc*king kidding me now, Beta?” He asked him. Lance raised both of his hand as he chuckled, “No, I’m not. I’m just telling my harmless opinion okay.”
“Then why are you calling me cheap? Lucky you, you wife didn’t lied on you.” Oh, they were not sure about that.
“She did. She lied on me,” That caught my attention. Amanda lied on him? why? when? and how?
“If you mean when she said that she’s not pregnant but she is, you deserve it. You just make her cry, you idiot. How dare you to say that you don’t really love her and not over with your ex.” My jaw slightly dropped. Damn, Lance did that to my best friend? When?
“Come on, that was on the past and I really regret it. And that’s not what I mean, I just feel like she’s hiding something to me. Maybe she knows something about Harper, but telling on us. I mean they were best friends. I can’t blame her though, she’s loyal on Harper, she can’t betray her.” So, he got an idea.
“But she can betray us?”
“It’s not betraying us, she just wanted to be a true friend.” Lance understand his wife, showing that he loves her so much. I happy for my best friend because she have a men like him, deserve it.
I look on my mate who’s having this bored expression on his face, “Whatever Lance, anyway, we’ll be heading back the palace next week. Let’s stay here for a while, I needed to observed them.” Lance nodded.
“Got it, do you have anything to say more?” He asked him. Zach nodded, “I have, rely a message on the palace. Tell to Hiro what happened this night.”
“Alright, I will go now. Have a rest,” Lance bowed and left. I was still standing where I am right now, should I show up? I was about to walk closer to him but he suddenly stand up and walk closer to me instead. I blink once, he can see me?
“Show yourself, Harper.” He said coldly. Just like what I thought, I unmasked my scent and invisibility. I look down and sigh.
“Come here,” I heard him said. I slowly walked towards his direction, “You know that I’m here, right?”
“That doesn’t matter. Why are you here?” He asked me seriously. I look up to see his face, he look very cold.
“I wanted to talk to you.” I answered directly. He sarcastically chuckled, “Talk to me?” I nodded. “Yes, if you wanted to.” He shook his head, amusement can be seen in his eyes.
“You will still talk to me even if I don’t want to, right?” right. “Yes.” He smirk and sign me to continue talking.
“I’m here to convince you,” his brow rose up. “Convince on what?”
“Have peace with us. End the alliance between werewolves and vampires.” He sat down on his table and chuckled.
“Have peace? That’s possible but that was before you leave. You’re a vampire, and also the werewolf queen, you can surely do something, but not now.” I bit my bottom lip to think.
“Don’t make it personal, Zach. If you hate me, don’t get them involve. James is willing to be at peace with you, but you decline it.” He smile sarcastically. “Really? you believe him? Oh, I see. You’re a vampire of course you will be on their side.” I narrow down my eyes on him.
“I know he’s true to his word, why it’s hard for you to trust?” His expression changes, “How about you? why it’s hard for you to trust?” that caught me off guard, yeah, it’s hard for me to trust, only if he knew my past.
“Cut your tongue? Ohh, got it. You trust them but you don’t trust us? How funny is it, Harper. Are you f*uc*king kidding us?” I close my palm tightly, calm down Harper, you are here to convince him not to argue.
“No, I’m not. And I do trust you.” He laughed humorlessly.
“Trust me? Such a big word coming from you. If you trust me, you will say your secret to me, you won’t even lie. Maybe, you’re thinking victoriously now because you win, you made us look like a fool.” My mouth parted, damn that mindset of him. “You don’t understand…”
“Then make me, make me understand why you f*uc*king did that? Why you f*uc*king lie? Is it because you’re a spy of the vampires? Damn you.” he said angrily. No, not that.
“I’m not a spy.” I said empathically as I look down. I’m not a f*uc*king spy, I wanted to do is to make the two clan at peace but he called me a spy and even cuss me. How funny it is, some person around this world is indeed dumb enough to say something they don’t even know.
But… I can’t blame them though. Just like what I said, they don’t know anything. “You are.” I look at him directly in the eyes. “No, I’m not. I’m just helping.”
“Helping on what? making everything’s complicated?” My life is already complicated so why would I let other became more complicated?
“No, I’m doing this both of the werewolves and vampires.”
“Do you know what you are saying?” I nodded my head. “I do, that’s why I’m here. Think about forgiving, for peace and freedom, everyone deserves that.” He went silent because of what I said.
I walk closer to him, “I don’t leave you because I wanted, but because I need too. I talk to the vampires king to end the alliance with you.” he look at me.
“That doesn’t change the fact that you lied, Harper. You choose to hide your true identity than to tell. You made us all think that you’re a human.” This time, I look down. I wanted to tell at first but not possible.
“See, you can’t even tell why you hide that from us.”
“I…” I decided to talk. “I what?”
“I’m sorry.” I finally said. I know I was wrong about that but he can’t blame me, I’m just protecting him and I… I don’t want the history repeats itself.
“What did you said?” he asked like he can’t believe what he just heard. I look up him, “I’m sorry for lying.” I said while looking directly in his eyes. He stared at me intently and then asked, “You meant it?” I nodded.
“How can I trust your words again?” I don’t know, he’s the only one who can answer his question. “If your choice if you don’t believe me.” I felt him approaching me, he stopped walking when he’s just a few inches away from me.
“I don’t.” I bit my inner lip, I know he won’t. “But I have one last question, I want you to answer honestly.” I nodded without looking at him. I’m in pain now too, this is what I’m telling, he will never listen to me.
“Did you ever love me?” he aske causing me to look at him again. “Just even once?” I can hear pain in his voice while saying that. Maybe… maybe he’s thinking that I just played him.
“I Io—” Before I can continue my word, he shut me up by putting his finger on my lips. “Don’t, forget about it. Even if I’m angry with you right now, I can’t deny the fact that I still love you so much.” My eyes slightly widened when he said that. But it widened even more he pulled me closer and captured my lips.
His hand went on my back while the other one was on my nape. I was in shock, I didn’t expect him to do that. But when I got myself back, I closed my eyes and feel his warm. How I miss his touch and kisses. I want to be close with him like this.
I place both of my hand on his shoulder as I snake my legs around his waist. I feel him deepened the kiss as his hand started to travel up and down on my back. It’s giving unexplainable pleasure around my body.
“Tell me, you still love me,” He whispered in between our kiss. “I —” Before I can continue, he kissed me on my lips again. It seems like he’s not letting me to finish my sentence. He continue to kiss me passionately, while I kissed him back with the same ferocity.
I felt him started to walk so I opened my eyes, but quickly closed it again when he throw me on his bed. Ouch, that’s slightly hurts. Before I could react, he hovered down and trapped me on the bed.
“I miss you baby,” He whispered seductively. I couldn’t help but to blush, he saying that as if something already happen between us. We make out a few times but not mated. He always said that it’s okay not to do it if I’m not ready yet. That’s so sweet of him.
“Shy?” I glared at him. Damn, why is he teasing me? He laughed and peck on my lips. Then look at me again, he got this teasing expression. I was about to hit him but he captured my hand and pinned it over my head.
“Not so fast baby.” I glared at him even more. “Zach.” I warned him. He grinned, “Call my name again.” I pouted. “I’m warning you, Zach.”
“Oh, you will moan that later.” As he said that, he capture my lips again for a long kiss. There’s a lot of butterfly in my stomach at the moment. Damn, I’m afraid he’s right, I’ll end up moaning his name.
His kiss slowly travelled down to my cheek, there, he gave a soft kiss as if he was teasing me. My back arc because of the sensation. “Moan my name baby.” I can do anything because he’s holding my two hand. Damn. His lips travelled down even more until it reach my neck.
He found my soft spots, the part where he placed the mark. “I miss you love…” he whispered. I bit my bottom lips to suppress my moan that was about to lose. He’s kissing my neck slowly, giving a butterfly like kiss. It’s sending shiver down to my spine, I love how it feels.
“Moan my name love…”
“Akk!” My breath hitched when I felt a sharp matter buried on my neck. Did he… did he just remarked me? But before I can say a single word, his lips went back on mine.
Kissing me like there’s no tomorrow. He let go of my hand “Touch me, love.” He almost whispered as he look directly in my eyes. I bit my bottom lips and look back, slowly, I touch his face. He quickly shut his eyes down and feel my touch.

My hand travel down to his shoulder, then to his chest.
“I love you.” I murmured. “I really do.” That made him open his eyes and look at me. He seems can’t believe what he just heard.
“Really?” I nodded. I’m wrong for leaving him but that’s what I need to do. He smiled widely and caress my cheeks. “I love you too.”
