Chapter 108 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)
I was standing behind the king and queen while attentively looking to those persons who’s walking towards our direction now. He’s really here, with Lance and… Keriza besides him. Behind them, there were just more than five warriors and Archie was with them too, the royal knight’s commander.
I gazed over on Keriza who’s saying something to my mate, or the alpha king perhaps? I don’t know if I still have the right to call him my mate. I bit my inner lip and let out a sigh. Just calm down, Harper, just see what will happen this time.
“Are you alright, Harper?” I heard Samantha asked me. I just noticed her now, beside her, I saw Troy who’s looking at me too. I nodded my head, “Yeah, just a little nervous.” I answered honestly.
“Right, I’m kind of nervous too. This is the first time I’m going to see the Alpha king, I mean, It’s really rare for him to come in the land of his enemy.” That’s not the reason why I’m nervous now, It is because I’m afraid what he will going to react.
I think after seeing me here, he will think that I’m a spy of the vampires. Which is if I were him, I will think the same. Geez, how everything became like this? Is there anything more complicated? More messy?
“Harper? Are you still with me?” I blinked twice and look at her. “Pardon? what you were saying?” I asked her. Se pouted, “You’re not really listening, I’m asking you why are you nervous?” She asked me.
“Who wouldn’t be intimidated by him?” I half lied. No, I’m not scared of him. She nodded and chuckle lowly, “Right, haha. Who wouldn’t.”
I look in front when I feel that they were close now. As I look up, our eyes met. This is what I’m telling… the first thing I saw in his eyes were shock. He can’t believe what he just saw, but that’s just lasted for a few seconds.
He’s not familiar on my Vampire scent which I’m using now, he got used on my human scent. I closed my fist tightly, I wanted to stay calm as possible but my heart is starting to beat so fast now, I’m panicking. I didn’t expect that I will act this way.
I’m not like this before, I don’t give any s*hit about this kind of situation. But this is different, I know that I was the one who made mistake, that’s why I’m fixing it now.
“Harper! You traitor!” Keriza exclaimed as soon she saw me. Her eyes were fuming in anger, if looks can kill, I’m probably dead now.
“You b*itch, how dare you to betray us!” She was about to attack me but my mate stop her by catching her hand and pulled her behind him. My eyes went into their entangled hands, I bit my inner lips as I averted my gaze on Lance.
He doesn’t have any idea about this one too, only Amanda. She’s the only one who can understand me, and the only one who knows my secret. She’s loyal to me, she don’t say any words about me on her husband.
“Calm down, Keriza. That’s not the reason why we are here,” he seriously said. His expression harden as he look at me. He’s really mad, he doesn’t even want to look at me for long time. “Right, that b*itch will have her time on me, later.” She said as she glared at me.
I see, I composed myself. Alright, is this what they want? I walk forward and smirked, that caught them off guard. “I don’t need to explain myself to you, I know what I did, and it’s none of your business.” I said sassily.
“You b*itch!” she was about to attack me but once again stopped by him. He stand straight and looked directly in my eyes, “I hope you know the consequences of your action too.” As he said that, he looked n the Vampire king.
“Lead the way, I don’t want to waste any of my time for useless matters like this.” He said and glanced at me. Useless matters like this, of course, he doesn’t have f*uc*king care about me now. Got it, I understand it well.
“Sure, follow us.” he replied and started to move. Jameson look at me, he gave me an apologetic look and I nodded. I can’t say that I’m okay but I’ll be fine. I let out a sigh, “I’m shock and disappointed, Harper.” I heard Lance whispered as he walked by.
I know, but they don’t know my reason why I did that. They can think what they want for now, because I know later, everything will be alright.
My mate doesn’t even spare a glance on me. Keriza gave me a glare before following him. I was left alone with
Samantha in the place, “What was that? they know you?” She asked me with worry in her voice. I slowly nodded, I see, Troy didn’t tell to her my true identity yet.
“I know them, I live with them before I come here.” Her eyes widened and hold my arm.
“What? You live with the king? A vampire live with the werewolves? How is that possible?!” She exclaimed in shock.
“It’s a long story, but to cut the story short. I’m the Alpha king’s mate, the crowned werewolf queen. That’s all I can say for now, let’s go and hear what they will going to say.” She stared t me shock.
“Wha—What? You’re the Alpha King’s mate?” I nodded to confirm. “I can’t believe it.” Me neither.
“Please ladies and gentlemen, be sited.” Jameson calmly told to everyone. I sat beside Samantha, in front of my own mate. What a coincidence, I said in my mind sarcastically.
“So?” I look at him when he said that coldly. What’s with the attitude?
“Nothing change, Montegromery.” James said as he smirked. Zach smirked back, “Likewise, Silvania. Nothing change.” My brow slightly furrowed, what are they doing?
“We are here to hear something from you, Jameson right?” I heard Keriza asked. I look at her, attention seeker. I noticed that Jameson’s wife were glaring at her. Is there something else that I needed to know.
“She’s Wilson’s hated mate.” Troy mind linked to me. Mate– what? She’s the one who betrayed Wilson?
“Wilson is the Queen’s half brother. “He continued. So that explained the glare. “Of course, Keriza.” I look where Wilson located at but I didn’t see him inside, maybe he’s too mad just see his hated mate one more time.
“I only have three matters to discuss, one… we are not the one who attack your kingdom.” I leaned back on my chair.
“Then how will you explain the destruction of one of the pack inside my kingdom, Silvania?” My mate seriously asked him.
“Rouges, we all know rouges doesn’t follow the kingdoms rule. We are looking for all the vampire rouges for how many years now, but sadly, we can find thermal. You have your own kingdom, I know you know what I’m talking about.” Zach nodded his head.
“I see, proceed.” Jameson nodded. “Secondly, we don’t mean to cause harm to anyone. We are living in peace—” he cuts him off.
“Then? What do you want me to do then?” What really with his attitude? Is he really like this?
“If possible, we don’t want to have war with you.” I saw how Zach smirk widely, “Afraid on us, Silvania?” He asked c*oc*kily. Damn with that smirk. I saw Lilian hold her husband and to calm him down.
“No, we just don’t want violence.”
Unexpectedly, my mate stand up and burst into laughter, a laugh without humor.
“Since when? You vampires love violence, to cause harm to others. You all don’t have f*uc*king care if you hurt someone!” My jaw slightly drop, did he really say that? Why it seems so very personal and offensive? I blinked twice and sigh, “Isn’t that very childish of you, Your majesty?” I decided to talk.
He glared at me, “Since when you have the right to talk?” Is he f*uc*king serious now?
“Of course I have, everyone has the freedom to speak.” I answered.
“Really? Alright, then let me ask you? Why did you betrayed me? us?” He asked me, seriously. I see, he can’t stop himself from asking me. And no, I didn’t betrayed him, or them, I just did what I know is right.
“I believe this is not the right time to talk about th—” he cuts me off. “No this is the right time, why? You said you will never going to leave again, but you did!” my fist turned white.
“Pleas-”
“I said no, you will answer that now.” I looked on Jameson, he mouthed that it’s okay if I talk to him or not, it will be my choice.
“Alright, after James will tell his words.” I replied, I forced myself to sound calm. “James huh, are you that close to them. Okay, continue.” He agreed and sat down again. Geez.
“As what I’m saying a while ago, we only want peace not a war. And lastly, if possible, we are lowering down our pride to ask you, let go the vampire prisons inside your dungeons, then we will let go yours.” Zach stared at him for a few seconds.
“How can I be so sure that what you were saying is true?” James gave him a meaningful look, “I’m not like my father, you have my word.”
“I don’t trust you, none of you.” he said straight forward. I already expecting that, of course, it’s really hard to get his trust. “So no, that won’t happen. None of what you said will happen. If you provoke us again, we won’t think twice to create a war with you.” He said seriously, I know he would.
“I understand that, but let me tell you this also. We only lower down our pride once, don’t provoke us too.” Is this a peace talk or throwing threats? They were so impossible!
“Empty threats but I like it.” I mentally face palm, damn this kings. They were acting like a child!
“And you..” he pointed me. What?
“I change my mind, I don’t need to hear your explanation anymore. I don’t want to hear your lies, not anymore.” as he said that, he stand up from his chair.
“This useless talk will end up here. Rest assure, I won’t have war with you for now, but I’m watching you.” As he said that, he started to walk away from us. We are all watching them leaving, I can’t believe what he just said. He’s not willing to hear my explanation now but he’s demanding a while ago. he’s really impossible.
I took a deep breath and crossed my arm on my chest. “I’ll go and talk to him later before they will go back in palace.” I said t break the silence. All of them look at me, “Are you sure? He look mad at you, what if he’ll hurt you?” Samantha asked me worriedly.
I shook my head, he might hurt me, but no, he won’t kill me. He can’t kill me. even if he wanted too.
“Yes, I’m sure.” I said and look on Troy. “Troy.” I called for his attention. He look at me, “Yes?”
“Can I talk with you, alone?”
“Sure, about what?”
“It’s private.” I replied. He nodded, “Sure. Follow me.” he said and stand up. I also stood up and followed him.
We went inside the library, this place is peaceful.
“No one can hear us here, this is my personal library.” He said, I nodded. “Beautiful.” I commented.
“Thanks, so what you wanted to say?” He asked me.
“Did you saw your mother, already?” I asked him directly. He nodded, “Yes, I have a photograph of her, why?” he asked me.
“Can I see it?” I asked.
“Sure, let me get it for you.” I just nodded. “Here.” He said as he come back. I look on the photograph he handed, I’m right, this is her. The woman I met a few days ago. This is his mother, also mine. I look at him, his my half-brother. I’ve been thinking about this since the day I met her, I’m deciding if I’m going to say to him that he’s actually my half brother.
“You’re not just a vampire right?” I asked him. He was slightly caught off guard by what I said.
“You mean?” I smiled.
“I know, you’re a witch too.”
“How., how did you know?”
“Because you’re my half brother, your mother is my mother too.” I answered. He blinked but then smiled,” I know.” This time I was the one who’s shock.
“Just a few days ago. I met my mother on secret Paradise too, you met her there too right?” he asked me, I nodded. So, she told him.
“She’s really mysterious but a liar, but I can’t blame her though. It’s been a long time since I forgive her and accepted that she can’t be the mother I wanted to have.” he… he’s awesome. I wish I can be like him.
“It’s hard to forgive right? But what we can do? We only have two choice, to forgive or to hate.” He’s right.
“I choose to forgive because I’m tired to hate.” He continued. I just stared at him, he smiled and mess up my hair.
“Don’t think too much, everything will be alright. I’m here with you now, as your half brother, I will support you. I won’t ask anything about your past, but if you have spare of time later, tell me okay?” I couldn’t help but cry, this is the first time I felt affection coming from a sibling.
It turns out that I had a brother. He slowly pulled me closer and gave me a warm hug.
“Don’t cry, a strong girl don’t cry right.
You’re a strong girl harper, you can do it.” I hugged him back.
“Thank you, Brother.”
