The Alpha King’s Mistake by BlackFlame Chapter 122

The Alpha King’s Mistake by BlackFlame

Chapter 122 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)

They were chasing me, a lot of them in their werewolf form. I already take down a lot of them, they were badly injured or worse killed. I’m not even guilty about it. This is some of the effect of not being his mate anymore, I have no responsibility towards them, killing them is not a sin to me.

This fun, I’m so happy of being just me. I used my invisibility to escape from them. I have no enough time to play, a war is coming.

I stopped running and just watched them confused. All they knew they were just chasing me but suddenly I vanished. A playful smirk form into my lips, they were so dumb, just like before.

They decide to stop chasing me and just go back and report. I wonder what will be his reaction. He will know that I’m a tribrid but never see with his own eyes.

How pitiful, I know that he’s looking for me before. The werewolves were looking for me, the tribrid. His father started it, he betrayed my father. He wanted to get me for the sake of the kingdom. He throw away the friendship they build together because of power and authority.

That’s pure selfishness. Hatred filled my heart, realization hits me now. It’s not the vampires, witches, and hunters who’s at fault for my pack’s downfall, it is them, the werewolf royalties, specially the former Alpha King, his father. I gritted my teeth in anger, does he know about that one. Does he know because of his father I lost my family? I lost my beloved father.

I closed my eyes and calm down myself. I needed to ask him, I wanted to know everything. Everything.

I started to walk towards the boarder the territory which the place I said to the witch, I realized until now I still don’t know her name. I will see if she’s trustworthy, if I’ll see her there then she is.

A few minutes of walking, I saw a someone standing beside a tree. She’s holding two back, I assume full of water and food stocks. She look behind when she feel my presence.

Her eyes widened, maybe she’s wondering now why my clothes is full of blood. That was a bloody yet enjoyable fight after all.

“Are you alright? Are you hurt?” she asked me. I nodded my head, “I’m fine, just a small fight.” She really did me a big favor when the time she told him to get off the silver chain on my neck. I should thank her for that.

“Do you have a spare pair of clothes?” I asked her. The blood in my clothes stinks, I can’t stand it any longer.

“Yes I have, hold a second I’ll just get it.” She move closer to the black bag and get something inside.

“We are almost alike in size, wore this. Oh wait, I saw a lake over there, maybe you can go and wash yourself before we will go.” I nodded my head.

“I should go then. Wait me here,” she nodded as well. I get the clothes in her hand and move towards the lake she saw. She’s right, there’s indeed a lake here. I removed my clothes as I get deeply into the water. A few minutes of cleaning myself, I’m finally clean. I dried up my body using my air controlling ability then dressed up. I go back to her place, there I saw her patiently waiting for me.

“Done now?” I nodded. “Yes, let’s go. You will come with me or we will be parted?” I asked. She shook her head and gave me the other bag.

“Nope, my home is quite far from here so I’ll come with you for the mean time.” She said. I see, “Okay then, I will go in the Vampire territory, you will still come?” She thinks for a seconds before nodding. ‘Yes, still going with you.” She said surely.

“Alright, let’s go then.” I said and started to walk. She’s just walking silently beside me.

“There’s a lot of food inside the bag, I know they starve you in the dungeon for how many days. You can eat some while we are walking you know,” she’s right.

“Good suggestion…” I still don’t know her name. “Oh it’s Lisa. Lisa McCree.” Lisa, her names sounds so cute and kind.

“Nice suggestion Lisa. You’re a full blooded witch?” I asked. She nodded, and answered yes.

“How old are you then?” if she’s a pure blooded witch maybe she ages hundreds. She giggled, “Silly you. Why I have the feeling that you’re thinking that I’m some kind of old woman. I’m just twenty-nine you know.” Oh, so bad of me. She’s four years older than me then.

“So this is your true appearance? You look the same yet different.” I know that one. The same yet different.

“Yes, It’s been a long time since I free myself. This feel refreshing,” I whispered as I look above. The moon shine so bright above us, I feel like the moon goddess were watching us.

“It so good when you let go of something, It’s very hard on the process but it will be worth it. Peace of mind and calmness.” I agreed.

“Seems like you know my story,” I asked her. She smiled awkwardly.

“Somewhat, just a little bit, I think. I tried to look on your past when I’m doing the process last night but I only saw some events.” That makes me look at her.

“Hey don’t get me wrong, I’m just really curious you know.” She said quickly, I let out a sigh.

“What did you saw then?”

“Just on him, rejecting you twice, and claiming you twice also. It will be sweet on my perception if he doesn’t break the bond last night. He’s a real jerk for ending the connection, well, It’s not your lost, it’s on him.” She answered. Right, not on mine.

“I remember what my mom told me, if someone doesn’t want you anymore, don’t force yourself on him or her. If he or she love you, why would you beg to take you, am I right?” She asked me.

“Partly.” I replied. I got her attention, “How do you say so?” I smiled. “If you love him or her so much, why would you surrender? Is it not bad to fight for your love, specially when you know it is your fault. But then, you’re right. It is hard to fight into something you know that you’ll just lose in the end. What’s the point of fighting when it’s already him or her is the one who’s surrendering in the first place.” I smile sadly. It was him who surrender first.

She tapped my shoulder, “I don’t know what exactly you feel right now, Harper. But I know, everything will be alright. Trust me,” I hope so.

“Let’s move faster, we should reach the territory before sunrise.” She nodded.

“We should.” After a few hours of walking together, we finally reached the city. We are near the palace now. And also, the sun is raising now. There’s a lot of vampire roaming around the city, busy doing their own business in life.

“Do you have shelter here?” Lisa asked me while looking around. I nodded, “I live on the small house inside a small village on the outskirts of this city. But a few weeks ago, I moved.” I answered.

“To where?” she asked again.

“On the palace.” I answered. She glanced at me and blink twice. “Seriously?” she asked in disbelief.

“Yes, you will know the reason later. Come on, I’ll introduce you to the king and queen.” She blink again. She really can’t believe what she just hear, cute.

When the knights saw me arriving, they opened the palace gate for us to get in.

“They really know you, that’s impressive. Is that another perk of being a tribrid?” I shook my head.

“Not really.” I replied while shaking my head. After a few minutes, we finally reach the palace. The first one I saw was my brother, maybe the Knights already reported about my arrival.

He moved so fast and pulled me into a hug. “I thought something bad happened to you.” He’s being so dramatic.

“Is the two of you…” Lisa said in shock. Me and my brother look at her, what is she thinking?

“No, he’s my brother.” Her eyes widened.

“The crowned prince is your brother?!” she yelled in shock. Shocking indeed.

“Haft-brother.” I corrected. “Wow, that’s unexpected. The alpha king messed it up really hard. You’re a tribrid and now vampire princess.” I laughed in amusement. I didn’t expect my life to turn into that way.

“Haha, anyway. This is Lisa McCree. The witch who help me in escaping.” I introduced her to my brother.

“Thank you for helping my sister, Ms. McCree.” My brother nodded his head to acknowledge her.

“It’s my pleasure to help, your highness.” She replied and bowed. They were being too formal.

“Anyway, brother. She’ll stay here for a while.” He nodded and said, I see.

“Ms. McCree, enjoy your stay here. One of the maids will accompany you as you enter the palace. And my dear sister, may I have a moment with you please.” I let out a sigh.

“Maybe later, Troy. I wanted to rest for the mean time. I’ll talk to you and the king later. And nope, I’ll be the one who will assist her. She’s stay into the room next to mine.” He nodded in understanding. “Of course, you can take a rest first. Go ahead now, I’ll see you later.” I nodded as well.

“Okay then, we will go now.” I signed Lisa to follow me.

“This is so cool, you’re literally a princess of vampire kingdom. I didn’t expect it.” I look at her and smile.

“Me neither.” I open the door of her room. “Have a rest now, Lisa. Feel at home.”

“Thank you. I’ll see you later,” I nodded. “I’ll see you.” She smiled and entered. She slowly closed the door. As soon it closes, a deep sigh escape from my lips.

It’s not over yet. On what I did back there, there will be really a war between werewolves and vampires. I’m still a werewolf, but also a vampire. I should be neutral, I will end the war.

I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes. I’m too tired, tired of everything. I wanted to rest and have only peace but then… I know everything will become more chaotic. It’s not over yet, more pain to come.

In just a blink of an eye, everything became chaotic. Other groups, probably three, arrived at the place. As what I read in their lips, they were looking for me. What does they need from me?

“You can’t take my child away, you’ll taste death before you can do that.” I heard my father warned the man who punched him a while back. Remembering that he hurt my father boils my blood, I have the urge to hurt them too. But my father taught me how to control my power and be kind.

“Then die,” with that a war started. That when I decided to come on, but it’s over. They were hurting my father, the whole pack. Some men started to burn the houses near to the mansion. What are they doing?

I was in the verge to cry, fear envelope my system when say the man smirked and give my father a strong and hard blow in the face. Father, fight back. I whispered in the wind. And then, he looked in my direction. Blood is flowing in his lips and nose, but he’s trying to get up and fight back.

There’s an apologetic smile on his lips, he’s mouthing sorry. He’s sorry, he’s sorry that he couldn’t fight back anymore.

“My daughter, escape. Now.”

No. father! I screamed when one of the men grabbed his head and twisted it. It seems like my world stopped from spinning, I’m so lost and in pain.

The man turned around and look at me. His face becoming clearer in my eyes… those grey eyes. It was really his father who killed my father. It was him.

I wake up catching my own breath. Tears uncontrollably streaming down into my cheeks. I sat down on my bed and covered my face. I hug myself while still crying.

I miss my father, I wish he’s still here. Oh father, my lovely father. You died on protecting me, I’m so sorry. Please forgive me.
