The Alpha King’s Mistake by BlackFlame

Chapter 98 (Harper Alizah Grace’s POV)

“Where did you go yesterday?” Samantha asked me curiously. I bit my inner lips and looked at her, “May I ask you the same? Where did you go yesterday?” I asked with a smirk. Her cheeks reddened, haha, just like what I thought so. She’s with her mate yesterday.

“On the palace, he took me there without my will.” I started at her, then why she’s here again, he let her leave?

“He let you leave the palace and still work here?” I asked in confusion. She nodded, “Yes of course he will. I don’t want to be trapped in the palace, especially with him. If he force me, I’ll make him regret.” I grinned from what she said.

That what exactly I said at first, but look at me now, I fell in love with him, with the person who rejected yet reclaimed me. I tapped Samantha’s shoulder, “Don’t overthink Sam, I can see that the prince has a thing for

you. He wouldn’t claim you if he doesn’t want you, right?”

She glanced at me and slowly nodded, “That’s what he said. He’ll probably just rejected nor ignored me if he doesn’t like me at all.” There’s no problem then, they wanted each other, so why she’s holding back? “So why you don’t want to be with him? I’m not telling this because I’m on his side but you know, we don’t know what will happen next,” yeah, that’s right.

I realized, even how powerful we are, we can’t still predict what will happen in the future.

“Try to gave him the chance to prove himself to you, i know you have some feelings with him so just go with the flow. Don’t be such a complicated and stone hearted b*itch like me,” She look at me after saying that.

“There’s a lot of things I don’t know about you but I know you’re experiencing something that is hurting you so deeply. Just like what you said, Harper, just go with the flow hmm.” I nodded my head.

“Yeah, just go with the flow.” I murmured.

“Anyway, you’re right. I should give him a chance, I decided to gamble my heart for happiness. I just hope, the result will be worth it.” I nodded once again.

Just hope the result will be worthy. I whispered. I don’t know what will be the result of the decision I made but I’m hoping too, it will be worth it.

But if it is not, I’ll still accept my fate. I’ll accept the life that the destiny has given to me.

“That’s good to hear, Sam.” She nodded.

“But a simple problem, what will happen to this Cafe if I’ll live with him in the palace?” She asked me. “You can still make it work, right?” She shook her head.

“I don’t think so, if I’ll go with him, I’ll be busy like him too.” That’s when I grinned widely.

“Busy on what?” I joked. She quickly looked at me, “Stop it, Harp. It’s not what you think.” My grin widened. “Are you serious about that?” she pouted cutely.

“Alright, what you were thinking is one of the reason.” She surrenders. “Haha I’m just kidding you know, but why don’t you just hire someone will monitor this Cafe?” I suggested. Her eyes lit up, “That’s a great suggestion, why should I hire another, why not you?” I quickly shook my head.

“I’m afraid I can’t,” I replied. She stared at me confusedly, “Why?”

“It’s not that I don’t want but I just really can’t.” I have another matter to take care of. She nods in understanding, “Alright, I should appoints Jerry then. I know she can manage this Cafe well.”

“Right. She can take care of this Cafe.” I agreed.

“I’ll go and talk to her then.” I nodded and watched her leave. When she’s out of my sight, I let out a sigh and stood up.

It’s been two days since the night I left him alone in the cabin. He’s probably mad at me now, my lips forms into a tight line.

The guilt I felt won’t vanish anymore. Biting my inner lips, I set aside that thought in my mind. Focus, Harper, just focus on your goal.

I looked on the Cafe’s doorway when I heard the bell rang, it is a sign that someone entered. My brow slightly furrowed when I saw the Vampire King’s second in command entered.

This is Wil? Wilson Carey right? Yeah, he is. I saw him looked around the place like he was looking for something, or someone perhaps. When he saw me, he smiled widely like he was really expecting me to see here. A fake a smile when I saw him started to approach me, I don’t know why but I feel something strange when he’s near. I think there’s something very catchy about him.

“What a coincidence, Harper.” I see, he still does remember my name.

“Likewise, Mr. Carey. What I can do for you?” I asked. He smirked, “Too formal, just call me Wilson, Wil can do.” I shook my head politely.

“That would be so rude of me, you’re the King’s second in command.” He shook his head too.

“No, It is not. I gave you the consent so it’s not rude to call me with my name.” Alright then.

“Okay, so Wil. What can I do for you?” his smirk widened.

“I’m actually looking for Samantha and you, but since I found you here first, I’ll talk to you.” My brow slight furrowed. Talk about what?

“Here it is,” he said like he read my mind while giving me a piece of card. “It is the king’s first child birthday’s invitation.” I stared at the card he given to me.

“I see, but why I’m invited too?” I asked him curiously. He shrugged off his shoulder. “I don’t know. It’s the King’s order, I’m just doing what he said. Maybe, he’s curious about you too.” He’s curious about me too? Hmm, sounds so interesting.

“Alright, thanks.” I replied as I put the card in my pocket. “Anyway, Samantha went inside that room, you can find her there.” I continued and point the green door.

“Thanks. See you later, Harper.” He said and playfully wink. A playboy too. Shaking my head and looked in the other direction.

Leaving a sigh, I continued serving the customer inside the Cafe. A few minutes later, I saw Wilson leaving, he probably gave the invitation card already.

After he leave, I saw Samantha walking towards my direction. “You got the card too?” she asked me. I nodded my head, “Yeah.”

“Geez, this is great. You will go tonight right?” Probably should. I nodded once again.

“Great! Let’s go then,” my brow met. “To where?” she smiled from ear to ear. “Of course, we will buy our dress. We can’t go there with this cloth of ours right?” I look on myself, right, we can’t.

“And don’t worry about the money, I’ll got your back.” She continue happily. “I have cash with me, Sam.” She playfully glared at me. “The hell I care, it is my treat, don’t stop me okay?”

“Okay then, let’s go.”

“Lead the way.” We go together in the parking lot, “Which car we will use, mine or yours?” I asked.

“Mine, but you’ll drive.” Haha, just like what I’m thinking. Shaking my head, I chuckled and extended my hand in front of her.

“Okay, your car’s key then.” She quickly gave me her key.

“Wait me here, I’ll go and get your car.” She nodded. I walk towards her car alone and get inside. I started the engine and drove towards her direction.

“Come on, get in.” She get inside the passenger seat.

“Ready?” I asked.

“Always. Let’s go!” She literally exclaimed. I just laughed and drove off the car.

A few hours later, we reach a boutique of her choice. “Choose what you wanted, Harp. I’ll just explore too and look for mine.” I nodded.

“Sure.” We go in different direction. What should I wear? Only if we can wear t-shirt and jeans on the party. Geez, but that would be surely embarrassing. I laughed at my own thought, shirt and jeans on the royal palace.

A few minutes later, I still haven’t found the dress of my taste. Should I just don’t go?

I closed my eyes and sigh, this is one of the reason why I don’t shop.

Letting out another sigh, I opened my eyes. It is exactly when I saw a black dress. The design catches my attention, it’s not showy but not old fashioned dressed either.

“Harper! Did you found what you wanted?” I heard Samantha’s voice behind me. In my peripheral vision, I saw her walking towards my direction.

“Yeah, found it.” I murmured but I know she heard it.

“Good taste, Harper. If you don’t see this first I’ll probably buy this.” She giggled beside me. I chuckled and look at her, “What a pity, I saw it first.” I joked. She smiled, “Right, unfortunately.” I just smile.

“So this is it then,” I nodded. She nodded back and call for the saleslady who’s accompanying her since we arrived here.

few more minutes later, we are leaving the boutique with our hands holding paper bags. We go back in the cafe shop together, my car was still there okay.

“Go home now, you still need to prepare for tonight. Anyway, I’m afraid we can’t go together in the palace tonight.” That’s just fine to me.

“I know, your mate will get you. Let’s just see each other in the palace.” She nodded.

“Alright, see you there.” I nodded as well.

“See you, I’ll take my leave now then.”

“Sure.” I nodded once again and started to turn my back on her. I move towards my car and get inside. I throw carefully the paper back on the back seat before I started the engine of the car and drove off away the place.

As I arrived in the village, I saw someone in front of the house I’m staying at. Who is this might be? He looked on my direction when he saw my car coming.

“Miss Larkspur?” The man asked as I step down the car. I nodded, “Yes, it’s me.” He walk closer to me.

“There’s a letter for you, Ma’am.” I accepted the letter he’s giving to me. “May I know who gave this?” I asked him. I saw in the cover, it was just my name that was written. The man shook his head, “I don’t know Ma’am, I’m just doing my job.”

“Alright, thanks for this then.” He smile a little and nodded. I shrugged off my shoulder and sigh, maybe I’ll know who sent this inside.

But I’ll get inside first before I’ll read this letter. I open the door and enter. I put down the paper bag on the table and sat on the couch.

“This is from Amanda.” I whispered when I saw the hand written. Amanda knew that I know well her penmanship. Is there something happened? Why did she wrote this letter?

Out of curiosity, I open the letter and read it. I was in shock after reading it. Something happened, I didn’t really expect that everything will turn into like this. Looks like there will be a lot of changes in my plan.
