Secret of the Hired Boyfriend by Misty Rain Chapter 5

Chapter 5
Jack’s lips curled into a cruel smirk. He towered over Blaine like the devil incarnate.
“No one can save you today.”
Blaine’s eyes narrowed. “You better wish I won’t find out who you are!” Blaine yelled with bloodshot eyes. “Or else I’ll kill your entire family!”
Jack seemed not to hear Blaine’s curse. He turned and walked back to Olivia’s side. “Get rid of him,” he said to his subordinates.
His voice was so calm as if he had just told them to toss the trash.
The servers outside heard the commotion and ran over to take a peak. They heard the barks and someone’s pained cry. They felt like they were witnessing something very NSFW.
Was this how people partied nowadays?
Olivia was still dazed. Jack pulled her out of the building. Olivia finally snapped out of it when she was under the sun.
“You, you…” She pointed at Jack while taking multiple steps back. She stuttered for a while without being able to form a sentence.
Jack grasped Olivia’s finger. His gentleness was back. “Pointing at people is not polite.”
Olivia shook him off. “How can you do this on your own? How am I supposed to find the money to pay your company? Ah, I’m so annoyed!”
Olivia raked a hand through her hair and squatted down in frustration.
“Don’t worry. You can pay in installments.”
“I can’t afford it even in installments! I’m just an intern and only make 5,000 dollars per month. How long will it take to return all that money?”
“But didn’t it feel good?”
“Yeah… Of course, it felt good, but my heart hurts more!” Olivia glared at him. “I’d rather have them make fun of me.”
“Well, there’s no helping it now. I have already spent the money. Or do you want to get them to return it?”
Olivia had thought about it, but those people had barked like a dog for the money. There was no way she could get the money back.
Olivia thought back to what Blaine had said. “Oh right,” she said worriedly. “I think you should leave Dynea. Blaine’s dad is the chairman of Joy Group. I’m worried he’d…”
He might really kill Jack.
“Joy Group?” Jack murmured, repeating those words. He suddenly chuckled. “Okay, I got it.”
Olivia thought that Jack had agreed to leave. She let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks for today. You helped me get back at them, even though I’m neck-deep in debt now.”
As Olivia spoke, her expression grew gloomy again.
“I put you in debt, but you’re still thanking me?”
“Those are different matters. It’s my fault for not asking about your company’s services clearly beforehand. I will think of a way to pay everything back. I hope there’s no interest fee, though.”
Jack studied Olivia’s stressed expression, and his smile grew deeper. Then his eyes fell upon Olivia’s neck. He could vaguely make out some red marks inside the collar.
“Miss Greenwood, do you have a boyfriend?”
“Would I need to hire you if I had one?” Olivia realized that Jack was staring at something, and she covered up her neck. “Uh, this is a mosquito bite,” she said awkwardly.
The “mosquito” was taken aback.
“Where do you live? I can give you a ride.” Jack looked away.
“No need. I’ll just call a taxi. Your car is from the company, too, right? You should hurry back. If you park it on the road and it gets scratched, it will cost money.”
A taxi happened to drive past when Olivia spoke. She put out a hand to stop it and got into the car without giving Jack a chance to speak.
Olivia poked her head out of the window and waved at Jack. “Bye!”
Jack stood in the place. He smiled and watched Olivia leave.
His assistant Danny finally got the courage to walk over now. “Mr. Shaw, they’re urging you to go back again. Shall we return now?”
Jack slowly wiped the smile off his face, and the coldness returned. “Okay.”
Danny let out a relieved breath. It was still the CEO he was familiar with. Jack had not gotten abducted by aliens.
After getting into the car, Danny asked tentatively, “Mr. Shaw, should I look into that girl?”
“No.” Jack’s answer was very brisk. Danny thought that Jack was uninterested, but then he added, “I will do it myself.”
Danny’s eyes widened. He thought he was hallucinating.
“What is going on?” Danny thought.” Has Jack finally figured out what love is? Wait, but doesn’t he hate women? What did I miss?”
“Okay,” Danny said out loud. “Then, should I push back your schedule so you can spend more time in Dynea?”
Jack did not answer, and Danny took it as tacit agreement.
Yesterday was Jack’s first day in Dynea. He had come to attend his grandpa’s 80th birthday, but someone had drugged his wine at the welcoming dinner. He did not know who had sent Olivia there either. He had to investigate this seriously.
