Chapter 20
Blaine’s eyes were dazed after being slapped. He did not understand the power of Jack Shaw’s name. He stammered, “What’s the deal with Jack Shaw?”
“He is Henry Peterson’s nephew, so what do you think?”
Blaine was stunned. He had no impression of Jack Shaw, but in a place like Dynea, it was impossible for businessmen not to know who Henry Peterson was.
In the blink of an eye, Blaine also recalled who Jack was
There was an ugly look on his face. He thought, “How did that bitch, Olivia, manage to climb her way up to Jack Shaw? But Jack has crippled my lifeline. I cannot possibly tolerate this.”
Right now, Blaine was in a state of anger and fear.
“But, Dad, I’ve become a eunuch, and your bloodline has been cut. Will you refuse to take revenge for me just because he’s Jack Shaw?”
With a sullen face, Avery said, “Why are you in such a hurry? Isn’t Selena pregnant with your child?”
Avery’s heart filled with fear when he heard the words “Jack Shaw.” Now, he finally understood why Jack had kicked him out during the dinner party. This was the crux of the problem.
In the darkness, Selena’s eyes flashed. She did not know who Jack Shaw was, but when she saw the fear on Avery’s face, her heart was filled with jealousy.
She thought to herself, “How is that woman so lucky? Why is her life better than mine in every aspect?”
Selena subconsciously touched her lower abdomen. There was so much rage her features were twisted into a sneer. She could not agree with Avery wanting to just let this matter go.
Joel also said, “Mr. Jones, since we know each other, take this as a friendly reminder. Leave Olivia alone, or no one can save you.”
Avery’s face had turned red. He did not seem to know how to respond.
Joel left after he spoke his mind. He gave Avery such a reminder because he was worried that the latter would refuse to give up getting revenge on Olivia. Joel was worried that if anything happened to Olivia in the end, Jack would blame him for failing to protect her.
After Joel left, Blaine cried out, “Dad, you’re not really intending to let this go, are you?”
With a serious look, Avery snorted coldly. “Shut up. Why are you making so much noise? We still don’t know what’s going on, so we can’t afford to act rashly. Let’s wait until we find out more.” Blaine nodded. “We can’t let that wretched woman get away with it.”
Blaine thought, “Even if we can’t touch Jack Shaw, does the same apply to Olivia? That would be
too much.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t let you suffer in vain. But this matter must still be carefully considered in the long run.”
“But just now, you….
“Don’t be stupid‘ Joel’s loyalty clearly lies with Jack Did you expect me to say that I wanted to take revenge in front of him? Why do I have such a stupid son like you?”
Blaine shrank back in indignance.

Olivia woke up groggily with a throbbing pain in her head. She knocked against her head with her fist and staggered to the living room to get some water.
