Chapter 29
Right away after I uttered the sentences, I felt bad about it.
My thoughts were constantly working to defend his conduct and his treatment of me. Actually, I supposed I was at blame for mistaking our closeness. I didn’t really realize it, until I turned out to be somewhat dependent on him.
Getting the thing I desired and then seeing it snatched away, without being aware of, was an extremely heartbreaking experience. The most awful thing was that, I kept reminding myself repeatedly every moment that, I would not engage with anybody forever, so I could only cry over a foolish choice I made.
Considering the situation, it seemed a selfish part of myself to start on. I had no idea how I believed I earned his approval. Did I believe that once we were close friends, everything I had done to him during a previous lifetime could be pardoned?
Absolutely not, because I continued to bear that weight on my shoulder for my entire life. I had entirely hidden it inside of my mind and pushed myself to not think about it, yet it resurfaced when I learnt who Bash actually was.
I continued to spend an additional thirty minutes in that room. Bash should have gone since departed by this point, so it was a foolish thing when I thought I should wait for more to not meet him on my way home.
When I finally recovered enough to stand up and get to depart, I noticed my joints were aching and being stiff everywhere. I was not aware of it previously, yet every moment I only hunched on the

chilly floor, while my entire body started to shiver. My youthful, frail body had strained to make up for the anxiety and emotions, that seemed excessive for it to control at the same time.
The only thing I needed at this point was some time to myself, to reflect about the events that had just taken place as well as anything I accomplished. I returned home, stepped quietly, then was welcomed by a maid at the entrance as I passed.
“Welcome home, Saintess,” she nodded gently.
Normally, I would likely simply overlook it, but what the maid said upset me that day.
“Don’t call me by that,” I hissed toward her, my brows stiffening.
“You must feel unworthy of that title.” Suddenly, someone hiding beneath me remarked, “Do you get the reason?”
When I looked back, my mom stood in the living room and had a serious expression upon her. She gazed over me with both hands crossed.
“Since you really continue to ignore the Elders‘ summons for having your confirmation completed,” she proceeded without expecting me to respond, “They have delivered an additional letter this morning. Wait… Who is upsetting you?”
“No one,” I replied, indicating to her that she should stop. “I’m also not interested in the confirmation. Majority of the pack currently finds this mark as horrifying, thus why should I desire to serve them?”
She muttered, “You are unable to disregard them as you assume they’ve forgotten then will never inquire about you anymore. Even if I also believe that you feel secure with no the required formality.”

way inside the chamber.
“Winona!”
She warned me with her raspy tone that I had walked overboard, which paused me right in my steps. I felt so sorry that I shouted at my mom since I was unwilling to contend with this issue currently.
“Fine,” I gave up and responded, “Could I see the letter?”
I slowly examined the silver letter with the wolf emblem, seeking for any information that would be useful for me.
“It is unclear what number of Elders are truly needed for confirmation.”
“Oh, why should it?” she questioned bewilderedly.
“Does it need all of them or only one is enough for the confirmation process?”
“I should require another to verify, although I am certain that one of them will be plenty,” she responded carefully.
“Okay, though. Fix a time. However, there is a single requirement.” I gave her the letter back, then retraced my steps to return to my bedroom. “I’m gonna be there if Elder Tom is the one who proceeds.” I vividly recalled just Elder Tom who showed me compassion as I was put to death. I believed he was trustworthy.
“Winona, hold on. I hope you discuss the current situation. I recognized that you’re upset,” she yelled up in the steps behind
me.
“It’s been an exhausting day. I must sleep now.” I ignored her voice, returned to my bedroom and promptly slept.

I had dreams involving Bash’s passing plus the identities of people I had injured in the past all through my sleep. I obviously remembered thinking about the incident involving him during school, causing my subconscious awareness to bring up the painful recollections. I felt further worn out as soon as I got up.
Sadly, I couldn’t keep myself in my mattress for too long because it turned out to be Saturday, where I had to go to Luna classes. The studies often addressed subjects like manners, banquet planning, identities of essential people, etc. For the past several months, I had been making an effort to follow through by faking I was unfamiliar with the stuff the lecture explained, yet that was getting boring at the moment and the teacher could definitely notice.
Typically, a widower Luna would have presented the classes; however, my succession hadn’t been confirmed through a mate connection, so a qualified teacher was temporarily assigned for me. She was Helen Stewart, an old lady which I believed from a Beta household in a nearby area. Helen’s mate didn’t have the great significance, she was also the youngest among her four siblings, but the woman had been good pals to a Luna of her pack until their death, so Helen had a depth of understanding on the
matter.
That was why I ended up seated at the dining room opposite Helen, while my mind was in any other place. She was explaining about the powerful families of the north part packs.
I finally gave up trying to deal with it.
“Then we’ll go to the following family,” she stated. “Here is the Lycrofts and their Alpha….”

She gazed at me with the side–eye, though still remained in the class.
“Then, their three sons are….”
“Jeremy, Thomas, Peter.”
She paused and turned toward me, seeming a bit irritated that I had messed up her materials. I groaned, ultimately too worn out to maintain the drama.
“Well, Helen,” I never called her name during our conversation. Normally, I would have addressed her with ‘Mrs. Stewart‘ instead. “I’ve done my best, pretending to be ignorant of all the things you’ve instructed me throughout the past few months, but I’m aware you’re a brilliant lady, therefore I figure you’ve definitely started to know by then. I’m never angry. Actually, I respect your will to continue working while keeping this from my parents for the
wages.”
“Pardon me?”
“Therefore, I will give you this,” I replied, taking out my cheque book. “This is your entire day’s salary, then once my parents get back this evening, you’ll have to inform them I’ve been doing excellently in all of my academics. After that, they’ll give you your entire day’s salary, so you’ll leave with the double salary. Simply just tell them that I spent the entire day inside while I went outside. Do you get it?”
She was so shocked with my abrupt shift in mindset, that her pupils grew as big as balloons.
“Do you think your parents will not discover it, when they know

there are two payments using their bank?”

“Oh, you worried about that?” I questioned while indicating the bank account book. “Don’t stress over it. It is my own. This money is not within my family’s authority.”
Helen appeared as though she was so speechless. That was nearly like I was witnessing the wheels spinning in her head, as she tried to make sense of the events occurring.
“Helen, I genuinely believe, we are able to reach an agreement that can be advantageous for each of us.”
She paused just a moment, to give it some more thought until silently agreeing.
“Excellent. You are a lady who I have constantly considered to be quite brilliant. Another of the numerous characteristics I appreciate within you.” Once I began to write her a cheque, I added, “You don’t need to worry, because I’ll be home before my mom and dad come back.”
Not even turning around, I got ready and moved over her on my way to the entrance, dropping the cheque directly to her. She was still speechless, even after I had left my house completely.
I’ve got a more essential thing to accomplish.
