Luna Reborn by Juliet Swanson Chapter 22

Chapter 22
“Does he hurt you?”
He softly patted my shoulder and his voice became deeper and worried as I merely kept sobbing.
The result of that query was only a silly response. Did he hurt me? He did, but at the same time he didn’t. However, he had already hurt me far more severely than an incision injury could have, leaving me in a condition from which I would never completely heal.
| gave Bash a headshake. I didn’t really want to answer his query with a simple ‘no, moreover I wasn’t able to offer the response he was looking for.
I blinked back cries as I made an effort to relax myself. “Bash, I’m too frail. You have also stated it as well. I’ll never stop pleading to have a simple opportunity to survive.”
I realized I was not going to be sufficiently powerful to prevent Benjamin, when he decided to disregard me once more, like myself in the previous life, I was still experiencing an identical sense of helplessness until today. Becoming an extremely trained she–wolf in the past seemed not sufficient enough for him since he had control over my life.
“I believe you misinterpreted this,” Bash responded. “I told you’d find that there was enough opportunity to allow yourself to get tougher. I observed your power when you were dealing with the wolves. You stand a greater chance to develop incredible strength… if this is genuinely something you desire. We certainly

might have been dead during the fight assuming that you weren’t there.”
I could see that Bash was sincere while I peeked toward his gaze.
“After observing you and your Alpha within the conference room,” he said. “Despite the fact that you lack strength in your body, your mind surpasses anything I have ever witnessed. Particularly at a young age, that is not anything you should be regretful of.”
“It won’t halt me from being executed,” I said with a low voice.
When Bash heard the sentence I had stated, he retreated a bit in disbelief.
“Is that related to the goddess mark?”
The answer could be it was…and it wasn’t. He was posing me a question with responses that could be very complicated.
“Hmmm….” I responded while curling my fingers into grips, as I looked downward to my feet.
“You’re definitely the child of a Beta, correct? Why don’t you simply ask your father to train you?”
Indeed, it appeared to be reasonable. However, I knew for certain I had ended up disappointing my parents if I informed them that I was interested in training rather than Luna chores. Upon telling the whole council I didn’t want to serve as the next Luna, I began to feel apprehensive concerning the tempest that would be waiting for me when I returned. Their reaction would probably become completely taken aback by my sudden statement with no any warning.
During my previous life, my dad had told me that I never depressed
him. Yet that was not the Winona in this present time. Winona in the past was his perfect daughter, striving hard all the time to improve herself and the pack as much as possible. But now…I’m
not.
My dad might would think I was far too immature for such a decision, just as the Alpha.
“Actually, my parent would prefer me reading a book instead of training,” I remarked with disappointment.
My present routine consisted of Luna courses on Saturday and Sunday, then came to school during the weekdays. Every moment I didn’t have class, it would be used for school assignments and self–learning. By discontinuing those, there was no opportunity to start the training.
I struggled to seek any opportunity that they will permit me do that but I failed. They would probably believed I was passing over something as a teenager, then as I turned mature along with shifting, I would fall in love with Benjamin and go back to normal.
“So, have you previously told them that you don’t intend to become their Luna?”
I gave a headshake. “That’s not really easy. They will anticipate I can alter my opinion regarding it later and still force me to learn what they think is more important.”
“So, will you?” he questioned.
“Will I do what?”
“Will you still want to be Benjamin’s mate and become a Luna?”
I smirked sourly. “Do you think I’ll find myself in a relationship with

Benjamin?”
“I am unable to claim. I’ve never witnessed anybody appear to be so afraid of their mate, even when they have officially recognized each other.” Bash laughed. “Then, will you explain to me the reason why you behave in this manner? Although you claim to feel
powerless, that fails to fully clarify the things I glimpse behind. you.”
I was unable to explain it to anyone, including him. He preferred to not know anything about me.
“It’s too complicated to express… I only….” In spite of my best efforts to avoid seeming odd, I was unsure of anything I could possibly say to Bash. “I find out that he has a nasty habit of frightening people.”
I wished that Bash would not inquire more because it was the truth. Sort of.
“Alright, I’m sure you’re going to explain to me the truth about this someday,” he stated and then placed his palm over my hair, giving it a kind pat.
I found myself pouting slightly in response to Bash’s caress. He had always treated me like a kid.
“If I were you,” Bash continued stating, while standing up and stretching, “You can create an opportunity to practice instead of complaining. Moreover, you are the Saintess, just perform anything you like.”
I hoped things were actually as easy as Bash’s thinking.
However, it brought me to rethink.

I needed to consider what my forthcoming plan was.
The plan was to train in combat secretly from my parents.
After some time, Bash consented to allow me to walk straight to the healthcare facility rather than carrying me, yet he remained beside me to ensure my safety and I began to feel burdened. He even continued to follow me after I stated I was fine at that time.
Suddenly, I noticed a cute girl walking anxiously in the entryway.
“Ava?” I enquired, felt startled.
After turning around, the girl’s visage lit up with pleasure.
“Winona!” she cried, then rushed in my direction.
I felt her sobbing slightly on my shoulder as she put her entire body over me like Ava and I were closest pals.
She made a few steps backward but continued to hold my arms while staring at mine with her red, swollen eyes.
“I reached here to see your condition when I got the news you are called by the Alpha,” she stated. “I am very anxious when I can’t find you in your bed. You are still not in your perfect condition, Winona. You have to rest.”
“I… I apologize, Ava,” I uncomfortably responded.
“You know, I’m dropping by daily and hoping you’d awaken in order that I can express my gratitude. I learned that you have saved me before, so I owe you my life.”
Then, Ava saw Bash was standing by my side as she turned to face me. Her blushing cheeks were obvious to me.

She dropped her head slightly and whispered, “Oh my… I owe you my life too, Alpha heir.”
I knew why Ava behaved like that, even though she didn’t really need to respect him that much. It was clear that Ava had also been seduced by Bash’s appearance, based on her flushed face and inability to make eye contact with him.
I was unable to resist a grin when I noticed Ava had a tiny affection on him. I thought that was ironic in the way she was drawn to a person as self–assured and outgoing as Bash, when Ava was such a timid and reserved young lady.
Bash ignored her gratitude. “You don’t need to bow. I’m here only to assist and watch out for this girl’s safety.” Once more, he tapped my hair with his palm.
“Y–Yes,” she stumbled, with awe in her pupils.
I pondered whether Ava considered Bash as a cool hero, like a fictional character in romance novels. Would Ava lose interest if she realized he was simply a cheeky playboy type?
However, I couldn’t shatter her delusion. Goddess was aware of my sincere desire to experience such beautiful and lovely affection. Considering that Benjamin continued to be my mate, affection wasn’t working against me in my previous or future life as well, yet perhaps it proved worthwhile to have a curiosity on how affection might exist among others. Perhaps maybe, a playboy and a geeky schoolgirl could be united. Well at least, Ava had some hope.
“Alright,” Bash stated while pushing me ahead with care. “Winona needs to see a medical professional for a physical check.”
“Oh, right! I apologize,” Ava shouted. “You should take a rest until

you feel better. I hope you get well soon.”
I gave her a kind wave and moved on to the administrative office, in which the nurse was.
“Oh! Nearly missed!” Ava shouted once more.
She immediately rushed up to me while rummaging in her backpack. “I made something for you.”
“For me?” I inquired with amazement.
“I intended to express my gratitude, but I can only make it this time. Knowing everything you’ve done for me, it’s actually not sufficient. But I do hope you like it.”
She revealed a tiny charm containing a white stone that sparkled.
“It’s called moonstone. It is said to provide a variety of benefits, including recovery, internal power, and helping you with fresh starts. There are some more odd things. I’m not sure if it will be effective, yet I figured it will look good with yours. I hope you can recover soon by keeping this.”
I observed the sparkling stone and realized that it was certainly attractive.
I didn’t want to let Ava down, so I wore it on my neck immediately.
“Does it suit me?‘ I encouraged him to acknowledge Ava’s diligence by asking.
“That seems outstanding,” Bash answered and smiled nicely.
I glanced at Ava, who was flushing more intensely. Teasing her seemed so simple to do.

We quickly waved farewells to Ava, then shortly soon my mom came. When conversing with Bash, regarding the specific things that occurred, she became concerned.
My mom seemed distraught when learned about it, despite my attempts to ignore the entire situation. Will my plan still go ahead?
