Luna Reborn by Juliet Swanson Chapter 14

Chapter 14
I often pictured that being in detention would be monotonous, and it was.
As she evaluated reports, Mrs. Newman maintained a tight eye on me to ensure I was sitting quietly and working on anything.
“Winona, I simply have no idea what’s come into you recently,” she remarked. “You’re definitely my top students. Why are you behaving out of control lately?”
I gave her a quick glance before shrugging. I couldn’t be willing to clarify that I had previously acquired everything and was occupied with attempting to prevent my own death. However, I sighed because I knew deep down that I had pushed myself overboard.
“I genuinely apologized for being harsh to you,” I answered truly. It was serious. She had questioned me and attempted to render me appear foolish, but I wasn’t planning to be humiliated by her in the presence of everyone in my class. It had caused me to experience a flood of wrath, a potent new feeling that I was still getting used
to.
I would become irritated before the incident that resulted in my death, but rarely this ferociously enraged. I had been raised to shun it because it was such a greedy and unfavorable feeling that a Luna shouldn’t do. It hadn’t been until Isabella appeared.
Now, my ability to control my feelings had become more difficult than ever because I had the hormonal physique of a teen.
The lecturer inhaled deeply and massaged her forehead.

“You’re pardoned,” she continued, seeming fatigued.
“Would you kindly attempt to give it slightly more consideration? The students in your class respect you beyond what you may be aware of. You serve as an example. They’ll imitate your careless behavior if you do.”
Before, I wasn’t even thinking about that. Was that actually true? Why would what I do was matter to them?
“You’ll probably be our Luna someday. Everyone know that,” she said, seeing my bewildered expression.
“You’ll take care of the whole pack and be their mom. Considering the fact that some people may fear or even detest you currently, they certainly admire and respect you.”
I noticed how she might be correct after she brought it into context like that. I was certain the majority of the students would start missing lessons if Benjamin did that.
I might not like the idea of reverting to being a Luna, but I had to admit that as of this moment, I still had some sway on them. In agreement with what she had stated, I agreed.
“You’re correct… and I regret it. I’ll improve.”
She dismissed it and returned to her paperwork. She just had time to write a few additional thoughts until her pen broke.
“Oh no,” she complained.
“I’ll return immediately. Don’t leave this room. Remain still.”
I observed as she went and left the entrance open with no expecting a response. She needed to go get a new pen out of the supply area, so I took advantage of the time to continue working

on what I was going to do. I dug into my purse in an attempt to find a notepad, but a heavy leather book instead greeted my fingers. I had almost completely ignored about Ava’s textbook. After giving it some thought, I decided that the present moment would be the perfect chance to dive into it. I was confident that regardless of whether I didn’t go far enough, Ava would be pleased. to hear that I had taken it up.
The ragged borders and lost colors, which were an indication of how often Ava had devoured it over the span of time, caught my attention as I took it out of my backpack and set it down on the desk. After running my fingertips over the edge, I started to write it down when someone interrupted me. My vision then became hazy prior to I could pick up even one page. I unexpectedly found myself outside of school.
I happened to be in an area that I thought I recognized to the north. As a wolf, I had gone jogging there several times and was familiar with the narrow dirt route and the water area. Even after frantically scanning my surroundings to understand how I reached there, I continued to be perplexed. But just as I turned to look around some more, a little figure suddenly appeared, stopping me in my tracks. They began to take at several of the petals growing next to the trees as they make their way along the dirt path towards the area. Naturally, I quickly noticed her.
Ava.
“Ava!” I yelled for her. She failed to notice me, though. She ignored my existence entirely and kept gathering the blooms.
“Ava?”
I called once more. I made an attempt to approach her on foot, but it felt as though my legs were restrained and immobile. I first

noticed it as she proceeded to move in the direction of the lake. Out of the plants, four wolves charged at her from all sides, growling. Their determination to assault could be seen on their vile features.
“Ava!” I yelled.
“You must depart, now!” However, it was useless because she didn’t notice.
When she eventually looked up, it was already too late. There was little hope of defending herself as the biggest brown wolf rushed at her and clawed rapidly.
I noticed no one of the wolves gave any heed to me though I’m yelling, as she immediately began bleeding out. It appeared as if I had never arrived. I yelled at them to stop and begged them to spare her, although it was ineffective.
After seeing the poor girl being murdered, I began becoming anxious as I was submerged and my mind was having trouble functioning. I had to head out, do something, anything. Everything to put a halt to this mess.
It didn’t take long until everything began to turn black. I forced myself to get back consciousness while twitching my eyelids up. Following that, as my vision began to fade and the book was on the floor in the room when I returned. I desperately tried to breathe in a lot of air as I could because my whole being had recently been depleted of it.
What did that mean? Had they actually murdered Ava? But at that point, everything made sense. Now I understood why Ava seemed recognizable. She was the young lady who passed away after being in the same class as us.

Due to excessive taxes, a nearby pack by the name of Bane attempted to shatter the earlier coalition by declaring war. The neighboring countries always had to deal with taxation. The less powerful packs had to settle for a price for security since our pack grew so big and would threaten to seize over their area of control. The Bane pack recently saw a change in Alpha and the members were younger and aspirational. They foolishly attempted to begin things they were sure they would be unable to complete.
But I haven’t forgotten that Ava became the initial tragedy.
Her body wasn’t discovered until the following day and a funeral ceremony was held for Ava at the educational institution. For a while, her image was displayed prominently in commemoration. How was it possible for me to forget that? Was this dream a future event or an occurrence that had actually occurred? I had been there during the incident in the recent past, so I realized it wasn’t a recollection. This occurred something brand–new that I was being made aware of by a greater being for a particular explanation.
Think about that, Winona… what do I recall? I tried to reason everything out rationally as I straightened my head and threw aside the nausea, I felt upon watching Ava’s murder. The sky appeared darker in the vision, possibly shortly after dusk. I had only approximately an hour to drive there after that. It took sixty minutes for an attempt to rescue her. I wanted to give it a go despite the fact she had previously been dead.
I hurriedly stood up and sprinted from the room. There wouldn’t be any chance to waste waiting for Mrs. Newman to return. I would have to set out on my trek immediately and cross my fingers that I would see someone along the road.
I rushed as quickly as possible along the stairs. If I weren’t a wolf shifter, the situation would have seemed so much simpler, but I

had no chance to be annoyed. I just had to get moving as fast as I could. I continued to run quickly across the campus. I was sprinting when I reached a corner and immediately ran into an unbreakable object.
I reflexively shut my eyes and prepared to fall to the harshly, glossy floor, but much to my tranquility, muscular arms stretched out and snatched me just in time.
“Wow, kid,” a recognizable voice shouted. “Why are you in this great rush?”
When I opened them, Bash was there. He looked interested and grinned cockily, thinking my frantic looks humorous. He carefully supported me to my feet before releasing his hold, but the surge. of adrenaline still made my legs tremble.
“I gotta leave,” I hurriedly stated while taking breaths. “I have to go right away. A person is in trouble.”
“Woah, chill yourself and explain to me,” he said, as he saw how severe the issue was. His disposition suddenly altered. “Who is in trouble?”
I gave a headshake. “Not now. I’ve got to go as soon as possible.”
“So, I’m following you,” he replied. “Set the pace.”
“No, you ought to inform the instructor. Request that they should inform the Alpha and dispatch fighters to the north area of the lake.”
He mocked. “I don’t think it’s an effective plan to allow you go by yourself and even with no getting shifted. Also, I’m greater than your instructors here.”

He wasn’t off base. Future events would transform him into the devil. Since we first encountered each other, I could sense his
power.
“What’s happening?”
Then suddenly, a voice yelled out from beneath us. In an instant, I turned back to see Mrs. Newman emerged from the supply room.
“I believed I’d advise you to remain still in the class, Winona,” she snarled.
“Mrs. Newman, please hold off.” With each lost minute, I grew angrier and yelled louder.
“I want you to head out and inform the troops that they must alert the Alpha that somebody is in trouble. I… a few days ago, I noticed a thing in the north of the lake area. We were under assault. Simply put, up to this point I hadn’t put it in one place.”
She gave me an expression that suggested I was inventing a lie to escape from detention. Which was just partly true. She was correct that I had been covering up what happened, but the purpose of the fabrication was to hide the reality that I had experienced a vision. It was unrelated to how she was punished.
“Good attempt, Winona, but return to the room,” she yelled.
Bash glanced at me after hearing me yell out in rage. He obviously hadn’t anticipated such an intense response from me. He swiftly approached Mrs. Newman to defuse the crisis after realizing how crucial this was.
“Mrs. Newman… Lucinda, please. Just this time.”
As he moved closer to her, Bash stated in an endearing manner.

“I just happened to cross paths with poor Winona here by accident; she appeared to be fleeing for her own safety. I don’t think she’s creating this up and moreover, it would be heartbreaking not to trust her if the life of somebody actually was in threat.”
The instructor paused and considered.
“I’m confident you can put her in detention for an entire month if she’s faking,” he pleaded.
“I bet my position and prestige on Winona revealing the real story. I also will individually follow her in order to maintain her safety until the support comes.”
She examined my disheveled looks and crazy eyes as she scanned me from top to bottom. Fortunately, that turned out to be sufficient to persuade her. She reluctantly accepted and agreed to get assistance while we sped out to find Ava once a few moments had gone.
“I’ll follow behind,” Bash turned to me after Mrs. Newman had departed. I wasn’t going to waste any more time and started
running towards the north lantern.
Please, Ava. Hang in there.
