My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 292

Chapter 292
Chapter 292
Celeste hesitated and said, “Isn’t this taking advantage of you? What if I choose a piece you’re not familiar with, then won’t you be at a disadvantage? Forget it.”
Sydney’s face dropped. What a ridiculous excuse!
She was now sure that Celeste wasn’t good at playing the piano, or otherwise she wouldn’t keep refusing
Just now Celeste had tried to embarrass her. Now she couldn’t just let her off the hook.
The more Celeste refused to go on stage, the more Sydney insisted on inviting her.
Sydney smiled and said, “Ms. Campbell, don’t worry and just choose any piece. Til definitely keep up with your pace, and Mr. Reed is surely looking forward to your performance.”
Celeste looked at Liam and whispered, “Should I go?”
Liam glanced at her, “Whatever you want.”
Celeste felt a bit disappointed, and then said, “Alright, I’ll perform.”
When she and Sydney left, Nicolas finally said, “Sydney plays the piano really excellently. Can Celeste handle it?”
Liam uncapped the water bottle Celeste had just drunk from, took a sip, and said, “She will be fine.”
Nicolas didn’t say anything more.
When they sat down at the piano, Sydney handed her sheet music folder to Celeste.
“Ms. Campbell, please choose a piece.”
After flipping through the pages, Celeste finally chose one and said, “Let’s go with this one.”
Sydney took a look, and it turned out to be Croatian Rhapsody.
This piece wasn’t easy to play. Sydney had practiced this piece herself, but the climax part always seemed weak and lacked the majestic effect it should produce.
But she should be more than enough to humiliate Celeste, since they were both amateurs, and Celeste had chosen the piece herself. If Celeste couldn’t play it well, it would be her own embarrassment.
“Ms. Campbell, are you sure you want to play this?”
She could hardly conceal the excitement in her voice.
Celeste nodded, “Yeah, it’s all pretty much the same.”
Pretty much the same? Could it be that she couldn’t even read sheet music and had chosen randomly?
“Alright, since Ms. Campbell is sure she wants to play this, let’s do it,” Sydney gestured, “Ms. Campbell, please.”
Celeste shook her head, “You go first. Let me find the rhythm.”
Sydney smiled and said, “Then I’ll start.”
She began to play.
After hearing a few notes, Celeste could tell that Sydney wasn’t familiar with this piece.
But she appeared very confident, keeping the speed within her own limits. Although she didn’t play any wrong notes, the overall momentum of her playing was clearly unsatisfactory.
Despite this, the audience still applauded and praised her.
When Sydney finished the first section, Celeste quickly followed.
Her speed was obviously faster than Sydney’s, her fingering very smooth. Each note she played was perfectly controlled. She wasn’t smashing the keys like Sydney did to show her strength.
Sydney began to sweat. Her eyes were occasionally distracted by Celeste’s dancing fingers, and then she accidentally played a wrong note, losing her rhythm and making her fingering chaotic.
Celeste, on the other hand, wasn’t affected by Sydney at all. Her playing was smooth like a rushing river, and it only got faster and faster. In the end, Sydney couldn’t keep up with her rhythm at all.
Her face turned pale, while Celeste calmly continued to play.
