My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 291

Chapter 291
Chapter 291
Sydney first gave a thank you speech, mainly thanking the people who invited her.
She was a famous actress and very beautiful. She looked like a real princess as she sat at the piano.
Sydney nodded slightly to the accompaniment ensemble, and her fingers danced lively on the piano keys.
The melodious sounds gradually spread out.
The sea, the night, the piano… The music was exceptionally enjoyable.
As the piece came to an end, there was continuous applause for Sydney. She stood up and gracefully bowed to the audience.
Some men shouted, “Encore, please! That wasn’t enough.”
“Yeah, we haven’t had enough. Play another one!”
Celeste held back the urge to curse.
Feeling a bit thirsty, she turned and saw Liam holding a bottle of water. She went up to him and asked, “Mr. Reed, do you want some water?”
Liam glanced at her, “No.”
“Then I’ll take it.”
After taking the bottle from his hand, she unscrewed the cap and drank from it.
Liam:…
Sydney was enjoying the applause and after a while, she smiled and said, “Today is the J City business gathering. You gentlemen and ladies are the stars here, I can’t steal the spotlight all for myself. Let me find a representative among the ladies so that we can play together. Which lady would like to perform with me?”
None of the ladies answered.
Not that they couldn’t. Many of the ladies came from prominent families and knew how to play the piano, but most of them hadn’t touched one in
years.
Moreover, playing the piano with Sydney, who was not only young but also beautiful, the ladies, no matter how well–maintained they were, couldn’t compete with this young star.
“Ms. Campbell, you should go up,” Mrs. Kelley spoke up again, “You are the youngest among us and it’s most appropriate for you to be the representative.”
Upon Mrs. Kelley’s initiation, the other ladies chimed in, “Yes, Ms. Campbell is young and talented.”
“Ms. Campbell, be our representative.”
“Ms. Campbell seems to be someone who can do anything.”
None of the ladies wanted to be on stage and be outshined by Sydney, so they gave Celeste their full support.
As for whether Celeste could play or not, or whether she would embarrass herself, what did that have to do with them?
The atmosphere reached its climax, and Sydney said, “Ms. Campbell, may I have the honor to invite you to perform with me?”
Everyone turned to Celeste, awaiting her response.
Celeste held the bottle with a long face.
She finally spoke, “Ms. Denton, your performance alone is already great. If two people play together, it requires cooperation and will be actually a drag on your talent. I’d better not participate.”
After hearing this, Sydney assumed that Celeste didn’t know how to play the piano, which was why she tried to find an excuse to refuse.
Sydney immediately said, “No worries. This isn’t a competition or anything. It’s all about havin‘ fun and boostin‘ the vibe. If you feel like it’s hard to coordinate with me, just pick a tune you’re familiar with and I’ll back you up. Feel free to jam out!”
