“Sure thing.” Sydney said, rummaging through her bag.
Celeste got nervous when she saw the bag.
She sneaked a glance at Liam, who was sipping his wine with his eyes down, seemingly not noticing the bag.
Well, he probably never even looked at the stuff people gave him, so how would he know what the bag looked like?
Sometintes she would change outfits three times a day at home, and he wouldn’t even notice
Feeling a bit relieved, Celeste watched Sydney rummage for a while before pulling out a pen. “Sorry” Sydney said, “I forgot to bring paper How about I give you my autograph another day, or I can ask Mr. Francis to pass it on to you for me?”
Mason grinned, “If it’s okay, could you sign on my wrist?”
Celeste’s eyelid twitched. Could Mason really be Sydney’s fan?
Nicolas was more straightforward, “Mason, you serious?”
Mason smiled faintly. “It’s not every day you meet Ms Denton.” He stretched out his arm, revealing his forearm.
With just one sentence, Sydney’s vanity was satisfied, and she didn’t hesitate to sign on Mason’s wrist
Mason stared at her writing hand.
Mason had beautiful eyes, always looking at people with such deep affection
The beautiful moment didn’t last long, though. Sydney’s hand was yanked away before she finished signing, and she was slapped. “You slut who are you trying to seduce? Kaylee, Liam’s sister, was the one who slapped her
Sydney was dazed by the slap, and it took her a second to see who hit her. Her footing was unstable, and she bumped into a table with a pyramid of wine glasses, which toppled and shattered. Sydney fell to the floor, her skirt soaked in red wine and covered in glass
shards.
The loud crash interrupted the party, and everyone turned to look.
Kaylee was still furious and hadn’t realized the mess she’d caused. She pointed at Sydney’s nose and yelled, “You stupid actress, trying to seduce everyone! You just have to get famous with a man!”
As Kaylee tried to go after Sydney again, Mason stopped her, “Ms Denton was just giving me her autograph, what nonsense are you talking about?”
“Her chest was practically touching your hand! She was clearly seducing you! I’ve seen these tricks from actresses before. Mason, let me go! I have to teach her a lesson!” When Kaylee went crazy, no one could stop her. Celeste had experienced it herself before and knew Sydney was in for it tonight.
The next moment, the raging Kaylee was slapped.
Celeste blinked and slowly looked at Liam.
His face was tight, his eyes cold completely devoid of his usual indulgence towards his sister.
Kaylee looked in shock, “You’re hitting me for this slut?”
“Shut up!” Liam’s face was terrible. He told Nicolas, “Take her away.”
Then he bent down, picked up Sydney, and left the scene.
Celeste watched his anxious figure and suddenly laughed quietly.
She enjoyed the show just now, however in a second she turned out to be the biggest joke
Nicolas had someone take Kaylee away, and the scene was quickly cleaned up
The party continued as if nothing had happened, and she was drowned in the gossip and chatter
Her husband left her and went with another woman.
This was the result of marrying someone from a different social class.
In the past, she thought such sayings were nonsense, but now she found them quite reasonable.
She picked up a glass of wine and emotionlessly drank it up.
