My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 509

Chapter 509
“This is Mr. Reed’s first–quarter dividend. He said to give it to you for safekeeping since he can’t manage money.”
Celeste’s temples throbbed, and she gritted her teeth and replied, “Does Liam really think I wouldn’t spend it?”
Owen replied immediately, “Mr. Reed said that giving the money to you means it’s up to you to handle it. Whether you want to invest or spend it, is all up to you. It’s just a portion of a quarter’s dividend.”
Humph, can this even be considered normal?
A portion of a quarter’s dividend is more money than some people make in their entire lives. This made her even angrier at Liam.
Seeing that she couldn’t get any useful information from Owen, Celeste didn’t inquire any further and let Liam do whatever he wanted.
She had more important things to do and didn’t have time to argue with him.
The defamation court case was the day after tomorrow, and she planned to appear in court herself. So she discussed it with Zach.
Upon hearing that her lawsuit involved Sydney, Zach became a little worried.
“By doing this, you’re exposing your identity. Her fans will definitely fight back, and the paparazzi will follow. If you lose the case, you’ll be labeled as a publicity seeker before the new drama is released.”
“Mr. Miller, my conflict with Sydney isn’t just work–related. We also have personal grievances. I must fight this lawsuit, and I will not lose.”
Hearing that the dispute came from personal conflicts, Zach didn’t say anything more and just asked, “What kind of personal grievances do you
two have?”
Celeste hesitated for a long time before saying. “She stole my dog.”
Zach was speechless.
Meanwhile, at Sydney’s Grandview Villa.
Hanson knocked on the door.
Sydney was on the phone and didn’t pay attention to her, so Hanson walked in by herself..
After hanging up the phone, Sydney frowned and said, “You didn’t even greet me when you came in.”
Hanson closed her mouth tightly, not saying a word.
Sydney paused for a moment, thinking about the court case the day after tomorrow, and forced a smile, “Hanson, are you a little worried about going to court?”
Hanson remained silent. Ever since she received the court summons, she’s been on edge.
Her registered account was sued by Celestial Haze for defamation and infringement of reputation rights. But the account was actually used by Sydney, and Hanson was just the account holder in name.
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve hired the best lawyer for you. We’re sure to win. Once this lawsuit is over, I’ll arrange for you to join the crew. I’ve already recommended you to the production team, and they’re very satisfied with you.”
Hanson is Sydney’s cousin. After graduating, she started working at a toy factory. When Sydney became famous, Hanson’s parents sent her to J City to be with her.
Sydney hired Hanson as her personal assistant and took care of her daily needs.
They were close when they were kids, but ever since Sydney became a big shot, she had been acting all high and mighty. She was always telling people that her parents were top executives and university professors.
But in reality, her parents were just factory workers in a small town. Their situation weren’t bad, but it was definitely not all that great either. Sydney tried so hard to paint herself as coming from a well educated family, but she was always worried that her cover would be blown. She was so scared of the paparazzi finding out about her real family background that she hadn’t been back home in years.
As the gap between their social classes grew wider, Sydney’s affection for Hanson dwindled.
Her parents sent her to be with Sydney, hoping that she’d help their daughter make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. After all, who wouldn’t be tempted by the money these celebs make from just one movie, which might be more than what they could earn in a year?
