The answer was no.
That wouldn’t be the Liam she knew. She would be scared and panicked, wondering whether she was good enough for such a man.
But reality is not a fairy tale. Even if she agreed, it wouldn’t guarantee smooth sailing
If their issues remained unresolved, she would never be able to be with him at ease.
She would worry and fear that he would regret it and revert to his old self.

Celeste suppressed her emotions and looked up. “I don’t want to”
Liam’s face turned pale, and he shakily asked, “Why?”
Celeste avoided his gaze. “If i remarried, I would choose someone who likes me and whom I like. Do you understand?”
Liam’s face turned even paler, his eyes glowed red, and his voice was shaky and solemn, “Who do you like?”
Celeste was a bit annoyed, “Why do you care?”
She just wanted to make Liam give up, so she made up an excuse.
But Liam wouldn’t let it go, he kept pressing. “Mason? Or Steven?” Liam recalled what Nicolas had said before and got tense, “Is it Nicolas?”
Celeste’s lip twitched.
Was he planning to guess all the men in her life?
“Who is it?”
Celeste frowned, “Does it matter? Whoever it is, it’s not you.”
“I need to know what I lack compared to him.” Liam said firmly, “Why you chose him over me”
Celeste pulled at her hair in frustration.
Why couldn’t Liam just be normal?
He was so proud, yet he could lower his pride and say such things to her. After being rejected, shouldn’t he just leave?
Why was he still prying?
Seeing her reaction, Liam suddenly said, “It’s Steven, isn’t it?”
“After you had just divorced me, he was in such a hurry to sign you and did not let me interfere at all. Is he afraid you might come back to me?”
Celeste was speechless.
Liam’s imagination was really something. Where did Steven show any signs of liking her?
But now, there didn’t seem to be a better scapegoat than Steven
So she said, “Yes. My boss Steven is nice, protective, and handsome and he even helped me when I was in trouble. What woman wouldn’t like him?”
As expected, Liam’s face turned ugly.
“You’re lying! You definitely don’t like that kind of person!”
“How would you know what I like?” Celeste said exasperatedly. “After all these years with me, you still don’t know? I like handsome guys, just like when I chose you”
Liam was furious, he gritted his teeth and said, “Then call Steven now and tell him you like him.”
Celeste felt like facepalming.
When did Liam get so smart?
Her face was red, and she said, “Are you nuts? I’m crushing on him, you know what that means? if I get found out, how am I supposed to keep liking him?” Liam calmed down.
He looked at her for a few seconds, then concluded, “So there’s still a chance for me”
Celeste was dumbfounded.
Great, now he’s even more confident.

Suddenly, Liam stood up and kissed her on the lips without warning.
Celeste froze, but Liam only made brief contact before letting go of her.
He casually rested one hand on the back of her chair while his other hand gently grazed her lips, murmuring. “You chase yours, I’ll chase mine, and I bet I’
