My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 278

Chapter 278
Everyone else was stunned too.
These things were worth at least a few million. Yet according to Liam, it’s still no big deal and not enough.
He even made sure to emphasize that they were bought with Celeste’s salary, as a response to Angel’s previous sarcasm.
Angel knew for sure that Liam had heard what she and her relatives were saying earlier, which was why he aimed at her as soon as he entered.
Regardless of whether or not Celeste actually spent the money on these things, the fact that Liam accompanied her on this trip was proof enough of the Reed family’s appreciation for her.
Those relatives who had just badmouthed her couldn’t utter a single word now.
Some of them secretly rejoiced at Angel’s embarrassment, and said to Shawn:
“Shawn, you’re really lucky, man! Look at how thoughtful Celeste and her husband are, bringing so many gifts!”
Liam’s appearance today really made Shawn proud. With a beaming face, he modestly said, “What’s most important is that the children are happy and doing well.”
Latonia’s eyes darted around, and suddenly she changed the topic towards Angel, “Angel, how much do you make a month working at Quantum?”
Angel was annoyed and shot an angry glare at Latonia, “There’s a confidentiality agreement at work, Latonia. I can’t just go around telling people about the job.”
Latonia didn’t care, “You’re talking to family, not strangers. We wouldn’t spill your secrets, would we?”
Angel’s face turned green with anger.
She knew Latonia was purposely asking the question at this moment to embarrass her. Even if she made a lot of money, she wouldn’t be able to win against all these high–end items Celeste brought home.
“A good marriage is better than a good education for a girl, am I right? It doesn’t matter if you have no money yourself, as long as your husband is loaded.”
Celeste didn’t like Latonia and didn’t agree with her words, but seeing Angel unable to answer, she found it quite amusing She just didn’t know if Liam were under a wizard’s charm or what.
Shawn helped Angel out in a timely manner, “Angel, go upstairs and see if Grandpa David is ready. Tell him Celeste is here to pick him up.”
Angel grunted and went upstairs with a sulky face.
Feeling smug, Latonia announced to everyone, “Actually, I also have some good news to share today. My son has
successfully passed the graduate interview at C University.”
Everyone laughed a bit, but no one continued the conversation.
The reason everyone disliked Caitlyn was because she flaunted her child too much; but disliking Latonia was more than just that.
It’s true that Caitlyn was annoying, but at least her daughter was really accomplished.
When Latonia bragged, not only did she elevate her own child, but she also looked down on other people’s children.
And that was not even the worst of it.
It was their custom to hold a grand celebration whenever something good happened at home, such as when a child got into college. Of course, friends and family would also bring gifts to bless the child’s future development.
Celeste was totally speechless.
