My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 311

Chapter 311
Liam casually said, “There was some last–minute stuff at the company, so I got held up for a bit.”
Skyler glanced at him, “Wesley said you left the company a while ago.”
“He and I are not in the same office area, how would he know when I left?”
Skyler was left speechless and looked at them both with annoyance, “Come on in, we’re just waiting for you two.”
When they came in, the living room was already full of people.
The Reed family took Grandma’s birthday very seriously. Except for the aunt’s family who couldn’t make it back from abroad, all the younger generation were present.
Sienna sat in the main seat, with Skyler, Kaylee and her daughter on her left, and Clyde and Valeria on her right. Wesley sat on the sofa opposite the old lady, telling her amusing stories about his trip to the western company.
“You’re too mischievous. Putting pepper in the water, how did you come up with that?”
“I didn’t take it lying down. He had no right to boss me around, so I wanted to teach him a lesson. In the end, he didn’t have the heart to pour out the water, although he made me clean the toilets for an extra week.” Wesley sighed, “Then I finally accepted it. Other people can endure it, why can’t I? I can’t embarrass the Reed family.”
The old lady said, “It’s good that you think like that.”
Valeria laughed, “Wesley has really grown up this time. When he went there, he called me every day saying he wanted to come back. But then he got used to it. He no longer cried to come home on the phone, and instead told me what he had learned and seen. When he came back, his colleagues didn’t want to let him go. These few months, he got tanned and stronger, and most importantly, more sensible.”
Clyde waited for Valeria to finish before saying, “Alright, he’s in his twenties, it’s about time he grew up.”
The old lady said, “Clyde, let Wesley be involved in that university collaboration project, so he can learn more.”
With this statement, Wesley’s position in the company was temporarily confirmed. Valeria’s expression immediately relaxed, “Did you hear what grandma said? Work harder. Don’t let her down.”
Wesley smiled, “I know.”
Valeria glanced at Skyler, her eyes falling on the two who just arrived, and suddenly said, “Celeste, I heard you threw up at the exhibition a while ago. I was too busy to ask you about it, is there any good news?”
Valeria was really weird.
She didn’t even dare to look at the old lady’s expression.
Liam held her hand tightly and calmly said, “It was just food poisoning, if there was good news, how could we not tell everyone?”
Valeria’s gaze stayed on the couple, then suddenly smiled and said, “Sister, I think their relationship is pretty good. They’ll have kids sooner or later, you don’t need to worry too much.”
Skyler smiled, “I’m not that worried. They’re still young, it’s okay to get pregnant a few years later. You should focus more on Wesley’s situation. I heard he failed a recent blind date. The girl was very attractive and highly educated, Wesley’s standards can’t always be that high, he should weigh his own worth. You should advise him properly.”
Valeria’s eyes widened.
Both Liam and Wesley were children of the Reed family, but Liam was more accomplished in both his education and career. Wesley could only get into college by spending money. He even went abroad for a year to study at an unknown university, obtaining a master’s degree. Valeria had always boasted about her son, but now Skyler’s words poked at her pride, making her feel humiliated.
Just as Valeria was about to get angry, she suddenly saw Celeste, her anger disappeared, and a smile appeared on her lips.
Celeste had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, Valeria continued, “Although our Wesley isn’t as outstanding as Liam, his standards can’t be too low, right? There has to be a threshold, or else if we just pick someone randomly, I’d have a headache. Right, sister?”
