My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 685

Chapter 685
The cashier took the card and saw a notification on her computer screen, then said, “The customer at table twelve has already paid.”
Both of them were taken aback and simultaneously turned to look at Celeste.
Celeste looked puzzled
“Let’s go,” Trisha roared, “The bill’s been taken care of.”
She handed the wallet back to Nicolas and gave his chest a light pat, “Nicolas, you’re such a big spender
Nicolas expression shifted.
He felt a lot better hearing that.
As they left the restaurant, Celeste quietly apologized to Mason, “Mr. Fletcher, I’m sorry about earlier.”
Mason smiled gently. “You didn’t do anything wrong. There’s no need to apologize to me, Celeste. You’re your person, not someone’s accessory.”
The word accessory made Celeste feel uncomfortable.
Accessory, she’s always been seen as Liam’s accessory
Now, without an identity and an unknown father, standing next to Liam made her feel even more like his accessory.
She lowered her head and said nothing more.
Mason’s phone rang. He said, “I need to take this call, and went off to the side with his phone.
Liam took her hand, “Let me take you home.”
Celeste pulled her hand back, “I can ride with Mr. Francis. He’s going the same way.”
“He’s not going home,” Liam turned to ask Nicolas, “Right?”
Nicolas played along, “I need to head back to the office, Ms. Campbell. Let Liam take you.”
“I’ll just take a cab.”
Liam gazed at her, his tone softened, “Are you mad at me for pushing him? I didn’t mean to, who knew he was so fragile.”
Celeste’s brow furrowed, “You’re justifying pushing someone? Mr. Fletcher is not well. You’re not competing with someone, you’re pushing someone. If something happens, you could end up in jail?”
Liam was annoyed, but after hearing the last sentence, he suddenly said, “Are you worried about me?”
Celeste kept a straight face, “You’re overthinking it. I don’t want to get involved.”
Despite her words, Liam saw her mysterious eyes and couldn’t help but smile.
He whispered. “I’ll listen to you from now on. I won’t lay a hand on him again.”
Celeste looked slightly uncomfortable, “Deal with your problems, don’t drag me into it.”
Liam was thrilled, he asked in a low voice, “Have I won you over?”
Celeste twitched, “You haven’t even started pursuing me, and you think I’m that easy to win over?”
After saying this, she saw the twinkle in Liam’s eyes and realized she’s been played. She glared at him, “If you want to pursue me, try being perfect first”
Liam asked her, “Then what’s my score now?”
Celeste glanced at him, “Negative ten thousand.”
“What… are the grading criteria?”
Celeste said, “Depends on my mood.”
Liam frowned, “That’s not fair. What if you deliberately don’t give me any points?”
“Then don’t pursue me,” Celeste patiently explained, “Why put yourself through so much trouble?”
Liam stared at her for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled, saying gently, “I like the thrill of the chase, if you can promise that you’ll be with me when my score reaches 100.”
Celeste chuckled, “Try getting into positive numbers first.”
She held the power to determine his score, each time only giving him one point; he would never reach 100.
