My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 560

Chapter 560
“Look at this notice,” Shawn said as he handed her the document. “I was wondering why she’s been so quiet since the divorce; turns out she was planning this! Does she really think she can win the case with what she’s got?”
Helen pursed her lips. “Shawn, the lawsuit isn’t the most important thing; Pedro’s family just contacted me.”
“Who?”
Shawn didn’t react for a moment.
Helen said quietly, “The former driver.”
Shawn frowned. “What did he call for?”
“Somebody went to his town to investigate him.”
Shawn’s face changed slightly. “Who?”
“I’m not sure, but, Shawn, who do you think would investigate that driver at this time?”
Shawn’s expression became serious. “You mean… Celeste?”
“Shawn, Celeste knows about Caitlyn’s divorce proposal seven years ago, and she has the evidence Caitlyn gave her back then. Celeste will definitely doubt that car accident from years ago. As for the property division, if we can find a reliable lawyer, Celeste might not necessarily win, but if she finds something about the accident, it’s not just about losing money anymore.”
Shawn turned a little pale. He tried to stay calm. “The vehicles involved in the accident have already been destroyed, and the police have already concluded. Even if she finds something without evidence, what can she do? For the lawsuit, we can just give her some money; isn’t that what she likes?”
Helen wasn’t so optimistic. “Shawn, you underestimate Celeste. If she dares to divorce Liam right after Caitlyn’s death, that means money isn’t important to her; what’s important is Caitlyn.”
“Think about it: when you asked her to go to those parties and wanted to use her for a marriage alliance, didn’t she also agree because of Caitlyn? Caitlyn raised her, her respect for Caitlyn is far greater than for you. Now that she’s found out there might be something wrong with Caitlyn’s accident, she won’t let it go; she’d rather drag us all down to hell!”
Hearing the word “hell“, Shawn’s hand couldn’t help trembling, and the image of Caitlyn covered in blood lying on the roadside seemed to pop up in front of him again. His lips turned a little pale.
“So what do you suggest? She’s already started investigating; if we make any moves now, won’t she be more suspicious?”
Helen said, “Shawn, you should just accept this notice, let’s fight this lawsuit with her; who knows who will win or lose in the end? Once the lawsuit is over, I promise she won’t have the energy to investigate the accident from years ago.”
Shawn was uneasy, but at this moment, he could only trust Helen.
They were in the same boat, sharing the glory and the shame.
In the property division case, Shawn’s lawyer quickly contacted Mason.
After the two sides connected, the court date was adjusted to next Monday.
The original date was a month later, but Shawn’s side applied to the court, and after consultation between the two sides, the court date was adjusted.
Celeste felt weird; knowing Shawn’s character, he would drag the case out as long as he can. She even thought that when it came to trial, he wouldn’t even bother to show up; just let his attorney do the job.
But surprisingly, he agreed without a second thought.
Did he think he had this case in the bag or something?
