My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 191

Chapter 191
“Dad, what do you think of me wearing this bracelet?”
A familiar female voice made Celeste’s lips tighten. Then she heard a familiar male voice laughing, “Looks good! If you like it, just buy it.”
“It’s over a million dollars…” The girl hesitated, “It’s too expensive. Forget it. Your project needs money right now. I can’t help you with that, and I shouldn’t give you any more trouble.”
Someone nearby praised, “Mr. Campbell, your daughter is really sensible, always thinking about you.”
Shawn laughed and said, “She has suffered a lot since she was a child, so she’s more sensible and more lovable than other kids.”
That person joked, “Just buy it if she likes it. It’s not too expensive. Girls need to see the world, so they won’t be easily swayed by men in the future.”
Shawn was about to speak when Celeste’s cold voice came from the side, “Dad, are you going to buy it?”
Shawn’s smile froze, only then realizing that the person who had been standing with her back to them was Celeste.
Celeste turned around with a sneer on her face. Angel Campbell pretended to be surprised, “Celeste, what are you doing here?”
Celeste didn’t look at her. Angel bit her lip as if she were wronged
Shawn still remembered their conflict at the hospital. He wasn’t expecting Celeste to show up tonight as well. Helen pinched him, and he stopped looking surprised.
Helen said enthusiastically, “Celeste, your dad said you’d be at home taking care of Liam. If we had known you were coming, we would have picked you up.”
Celeste’s eyes fell on Helen. The woman looked to be in her forties, not very beautiful, but had seductive eyes and a good figure. She was dressed youthfully and looked as if she were still in her thirties. She was clinging to Shawn, talking like the mistress of the place.
She was the woman Celeste had met in the parking lot of the mall before, the one who was with Shawn. She remembered that this woman was Shawn’s secretary
The woman had come to their house to deliver some documents before when her mother had died for about a year. She felt sick that day, took a sick leave from school and came home, just running into this woman. At that time, Shawn was sending her out, saying that the company’s secretary was delivering documents. She remembered this woman well because her eyes made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
The woman felt Celeste’s gaze and naturally let go of Shawn’s hand, saying with a smile, I’m just temporarily acting as Mr. Campbell’s female companion.”
Celeste couldn’t be bothered with what was going on between them. As long as Shawn didn’t bring anyone home, he could do whatever he wanted.
However, she really couldn’t stand the way this woman spoke. Even just now when she explained herself, she did it with an air of superiority.
Speaking with an icy tone, she said. “I’m talking to my dad. What’s it to you?”
Helen’s face tightened, and Shawn quickly jumped in, “How can you talk to an elder like that?”
“Dad, just because she’s your secretary doesn’t mean she’s my elder, right? If you need a female companion, just let me know. I do know some divorced or widowed ladies who’d be more than happy to help out. It doesn’t look too good if you’re dating your secretary, right?”
Angel frowned and said, “Sis, that’s going too far. Dad’s relied on her help with work for all these years, and we, as daughters, haven’t even expressed any gratitude. How can you talk like that?”
Celeste laughed softly and looked at Shawn, “When mom had her accident back then, I worried that you wouldn’t be able to handle the company on your own. But it turned out the company was doing just fine. So it was Helen who was helping out, huh? This is my bad, I apologize for that.”
Helen, who was already flushed with anger, now felt her face burning red with embarrassment.
