Chapter 39 Emergency
Before arriving home, Cecilia received a call from the nanny. So much had happened in the past couple of days, but at Cecilia’s insistence, Theo had rehired the nanny.
“What? Jace suddenly faint?” Cecilia was startled, and upon hearing about the child’s
fainting, her mind went blank.
“Is it because of the previous injury?” Cecilia began to speculate whether Jace had
been accidentally injured during that kidnapping.
“Ceci, don’t panic. Let’s go back and take the child to the hospital. Everything will be
fine!” Theo comforted her.
Strangely, upon hearing about the child fainting, his heart also ached intensely. He thought it was because he had regarded himself as Jace’s father. He felt worried, and his sped up the car.
Upon hearing Theo’s reassurance, Cecilia nodded. She couldn’t be stuck in panic now, otherwise things would only get worse. After arriving home, they hurriedly took the child to
the hospital.
At the hospital, after little Jace underwent the examination, they were informed that the fainting was due to anemia and required a blood transfusion. Theo realized that Cecilia had just recovered, and a blood transfusion would be too much for her to handle.
Therefore, Theo left the ward and immediately called Luke. Luke hurried to the hospital at once upon hearing that the child had fainted and needed a blood transfusion.
Theo knew that Luke genuinely cared about the child, so he directly took Luke to the

“What blood type is the child?” Theo was also confused at that moment. How could things have turned out this way?
“The child has AB blood type.”
When Theo heard about the blood type, he paused for a moment, realizing that he also happened to have AB blood type. At that moment, he didn’t fully grasp the situation, but he followed the doctor’s lead to give the child a blood transfusion. After stepping out of the ward, it suddenly dawn on him something.

“Your blood types don’t match with the child?” Theo walked up to Luke and stared at
him intently, sensing that Luke might be aware of the truth. Luke glanced at him with a half- smile but didn’t respond to the question. Instead, he casually adjusted his clothes.
“I’m asking you! Did you already know the truth?”
“The truth? What truth?” Luke repeated it back. “Theodore, what is the truth? Aren’t you
clear about it yourself?”
Theo looked at Luke, yet Cecilia’s words resounded in his mind. “He is not your child. Our child died long ago. He is Luke’s child.” Her words had hit him like a thunderbolt. He had never anticipated that one day Cecilia would stop loving him. After a night of hesitation, he finally made up his mind. As long as Cecilia could be by his side, he could accept
anything else.
Now he finally understood that little Jace had always been his child, and Cecilia had deceived him from the start. Filled with joy upon discovering the truth, Theo smiled brightly, and at that very moment, Cecilia emerged from the ward holding the child, their gazes
meeting.
