Just as she was trying to figure out how to cancel Mrs. Kelley’s reservation at Ruby Lake, the perfect opportunity presented itself.
Mr. Kelley’s expression right now was like someone struggling with constipation. He never imagined that his encounter with the Reed family’s young couple would happen this way.
Mrs. Kelley, without noticing Mr. Kelley’s abnormality or Celeste’s words, tried to get her husband to help her save face. Grabbing his arm, she said, “This shameless woman is the one who threw water on me! And the injury on our son’s head was caused by that wild dog next to her! Fire him right now, make them leave the welfare institute, and kick them out of J City!”
She took the opportunity to flaunt Mr. Kelley’s power, expecting that she could easily ruin a welfare institute right in front of everybody without breaking a sweat.
Mr. Kelley’s face was frozen in shock, his fingers were trembling and he was unable to look directly at Liam. Seeing that his wife wouldn’t stop talking, he snapped, “Shut up! Do you think I own the school? It’s normal for students to fight. You’re acting like a shrew arguing with them, and even dragged me here! Do you know how busy I am?”
The woman was taken aback, unable to grasp what was happening. She only heard him calling her a “shrew.”
Bryce Kelley had always been subservient to her. Today, however, he chose to scold her in public, which upset her deeply. “Bryce Kelley, who are you cursing? I can’t believe you would curse your own wife, who was attacked along with your son! If you’re not going to help, at least don’t shout at me! Are you insane?”
Mr. Kelley, desperate to leave, didn’t want to console her. Grinding his teeth, he said, “You really have thick skin! Our son is spoiled because of you, he’s always causing trouble at school. You better take him home right now and stop making a scene!”
His wife was furious. “Bryce Kelley! Are you crazy? Who are you talking to? Why should we go home?”
Her man didn’t support her at all, instead, he kept telling her to let it go and accept it. How could she stomach this? She had been tough in school multiple times, making teachers, school leaders, and students’ parents give her face.
If she left here in a weak manner today, wouldn’t people make fun of her in the future?
“Yeah,” Celeste chimed in, trying to stir things up. “You guys also have to compensate us for the medical expenses and the mental distress. How can you just leave? At least settle this bill first.”
The woman’s face turned blue with anger, and she cursed, “Shut up!”
Liam’s eyes darkened. “Say that again, I dare you.”
“Even if it’s ten times, I’d still say it! Damn-”
“Smack=”
Bryce Kelley immediately slapped her across her face.. “Do you really want to embarrass us that much?”
The woman’s head was spinning, and she covered her face, with her eyes full of confusion.
Hunter also panicked, rushing forward to protect the woman. “Dad, are you out of your mind? How could you hit Mom?”
“Shut up!” Bryce Kelley heard him say ‘Mom’, and veins bulged on his forehead. He angrily said, “If you hadn’t stirred up trouble at school, would we have made this scene today?”
