My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 192

Chapter 192
Shawn’s macho attitude used to cause a lot of arguments with Caitlyn. People often said he was lucky to have married such a good wife, or else he wouldn’t have achieved so much.
After Caitlyn’s accident, he hurried to take control of the company, wanting to prove to everyone that he could still succeed even without her.
What he hated most was people saying he relied on a woman. Celeste just played on this point, shifting the disaster onto Helen.
Shawn’s face darkened as he coldly said, “What help? She’s just a female companion for the party”
Helen, looking pale but with excellent restraint, bowed her head and said, “I shouldn’t have done that.”
Angel wanted to say something but saw Helen’s gesture, and ended up just biting her lip in silence.
A nearby salesperson gently asked, “Miss, would you like this bracelet?”
Angel calmed down and glanced at the distance, suddenly having an idea. She lowered her head, looking shy and hesitant. “It’s too expensive. I’ll look for something else.”
Just as Celeste was about to speak, a sarcastic male voice rang out, “Let your sister buy it for you. The money is nothing for the Reed family. Back in the day, she always gave you whatever she didn’t want, and now that she’s married into a wealthy family, she’s got to take care of her little sister, right?”
Celeste looked up and saw a young man in a suit, about her age, with a clean-cut, star-like appearance. His name was Jarvis, and he was Celeste’s high school classmate
Her eyes involuntarily darkened at the sight of him, as he brought back some unpleasant memories.
Angel looked nervous. Glancing at Celeste fearfully, she stammered, “Jarvis, don’t say that. My sister has been good to me.”
Jarvis scoffed, “Good to you by giving you her trash like charity? Taking you in has earned her quite a reputation, so she ought to treat you well, right? But how does she actually treat you?”
Jarvis’s family was quite powerful in J City, and as soon as he spoke, others began chiming in.
That adopted girl from the Campbell family is Angelica, the internet celebrity, right?”
“Yeah, that’s her. No wonder she looked so familiar. So Celeste is the sister who’s always been giving her a hard time?”
“Exactly. When the Campbell family adopted Angel, they made headlines and earned a lot of money. But soon, rumors spread that they didn’t treat her well, but instead were making her life miserable. However, Angel persevered, graduated from a prestigious university, and now works for a top-100 company. In contrast, the Campbell family’s biological daughter graduated from some common school. She’s lucky she’s pretty, otherwise, the Reed family wouldn’t have given her a second look.”
“Speaking of which, we went to the same school! She once got into a massive fight there, leading to the news about her mistreating her adopted sister. She’s quite a fierce one! I can’t believe she managed to marry into the Reed family.”
Shawn frowned, about to say something but was stopped by Helen, who said. Think about what Celeste has done.”
Shawn held back, pursing his lips.
Celeste’s expression grew icy, but these words could no longer hurt her as they once did. Instead, they only confirmed and strengthened her view of Angel.
Angel was an orphan who had lived in an orphanage. The very same one Caitlyn and Shawn sponsored.
As stakeholders in the orphanage, they were often invited to various charity events.
During one event, there was an accident. A warehouse storing donated supplies caught fire, and a child was trapped inside.
