Zach didn’t want to listen and whispered, “It’s not my business. Please step aside”
Celeste took a deep breath, her patience gone. She continued, “You have to explain yourself! When did I toy with others?”
Her audition had failed anyway, so she didn’t care how Zach thought of her, but she absolutely wouldn’t tolerate being accused for no reason!
She couldn’t let Zach have any negative impressions of the Kendricks because of her.
Zach was taken aback and his face turned sour, “Well, if you think the roles don’t have enough weight, go audition for roles with more importance! Our place isn’t big enough to accommodate someone like you?”.
“When did I ever think the roles were too small?” Celeste frowned. “I haven’t even seen the script. How could i possibly think that?”
Zach paused. “You didn’t receive the script?”
Celeste shook her head “No one contacted me after the audition”
Zach sensed something was amiss. He took out his phone, searched through it for a while, and pulled up a few chat screenshots Is this you?”
Upon glancing at the messages, Celeste saw a WhatsApp profile with her name and picture, but the messages in the screenshots weren’t sent by her. In the screenshots, someone from the production team added her on WhatsApp, sending her the script and asking about her intentions to sign a
contract
“She” responded by saying that she felt the role was too small with so little pay, and she wanted to increase her screen time and ask for more money Plus, her attitude when talking was so unfriendly, constantly putting the script down and saying it was written terribly. The problem was, this script was an original creation by Zach and the editor, how could he not get mad after seeing these comments?
After reading this, Celeste said solemnly. “I can assure you, I didn’t say any of that This conversation took place the night before last, and my phone happened to break that night I didn’t get a new one until yesterday afternoon, so there is no way I could’ve been talking to anyone during that time Celeste pulled out her phone, a brand-new one, and there were only a few chat boxes on the WhatsApp interface. She wasn’t lying
Zach frowned, stayed silent for a moment, and finally said, “The role has already been confirmed and the contract was signed this morning Celeste was stunned, and then it dawned on her. Someone must’ve been messing around, and that person could be the actor who replaced her and signed the contract.
She’d known that the industry could be complicated, but she didn’t expect to encounter such a situation just from an audition.
Celeste felt a bit disappointed.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were a voice actor when you auditioned?” Zach asked her.
Celeste shook her head, “There was no need. No matter how successfull am in voice acting. I’m still a newbie as an actress”
Besides, such experience might not necessarily benefit her acting career. In fact, her achievements in voice acting could hinder her future development. Zach stared at her for a while, seemingly pondering something, then finally asked, “What’s your phone number? Give me your personal contact info
Celeste hesitated
Zach said casually, “After all, Kendrick introduced you”
Celeste thought there was no need to be so blunt….
Zach only asked her to leave her phone number, without giving his. In other words, this one-way contact was simply to give Kendrick an explanation.
