Isabella’s POV
I was practically shaking in anger when I stormed out of Alexander’ s office. Oh, I hate him! I hate him so much! It was why I wanted to find a way to pay him as soon as possible so I can finally be free of him. How dare he say that to me?! It was so cruel, so unfair and I admit that it hurt! I cursed as I wiped the s tu p id tear that made its way out as I passed by his secretary and Blake, knowing that their eyes were on me.
“Um, hey?” I heard Blake say unsurprisingly but I just ignored him and kept going.
Blake actually seemed like a nice person and seemingly friendly but I don’t need a friend. I’m convinced at this point that I was born to be a loner because not only did I get betrayed by my tiny circle of friends which consisted of only three people, including me but I also severely lucked out in the mate department. I blame the moon goddess or whoever it is up there who does the pairing for pairing me with the worst werewolf to ever walk the earth.
I just can’t believe he said all those things to me. Just the one night I decided to pull a wild card and I’ve suddenly become nothing but a wh ore to him. Maybe if I actually slept around, it wouldn’t have bothered me so much but to get s l ut shamed over and over by my mate of all people who I was probably so ‘desperate’ to sleep with because of the pull of the bond that I hadn’t yet recognized at the time -plus my drunk state acting as fuel to the fire of my desire-, it was just too much!
And then he went along to say that I meant nothing to him. I know I hate him and that he hasn’t spoken one nice word to me but there was a bond between us that I couldn’t help but feel and so it

hurt. It hurt to hear those words from the mouth of my mate.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Blake go back into Alexander’s office just before I left and made my way back to the gallery. Not feeling like going straight to my office to sit with my depressing thoughts, I decided to walk around instead, appreciating art I’ve seen countless times alongside the many visitors that filled the place. The beauty of art though is that it never gets old. It only gets more fascinating with time as you find newer ways to appreciate and understand it. Find newer stories to peg to it and give it life.
The best works of the best artists of the pack from generations past were here. Including people even my great-grandparents did not meet because they hadn’t been born yet. Those works enchanted me the most. I liked how ancient they were and it made me more proud of myself that my works had managed to make their way onto the walls of the place I’ve loved since I was a child and learned to dip a brush into a bottle of paint.
When I go over to my works and see the painting I almost sold, I admit to having let a small sigh of relief escape from my lips. If not for my pressing need for money, I wouldn’t have dreamed of selling it. It was one of my best pieces. It was something new for me and to me, it was taking a bold step because I had never painted something so lewd and scandalous before.
A staff suddenly walked up to me and I eyed him warily, remembering what Alexander said. The spy could be anyone or no one (in case he was lying about my former assistant not being the one) and I guess it could be all of them at the same time. I briefly wondered if I should just fire them all before I decided that it would be too problematic. I will let him send as many spies as he wants and condition myself not to care.
“What is it?” I finally asked the uniformed guy.

“Beta Blake is here to see you. He’s waiting just outside your office.” He said and I raised a brow. I wondered what he could possibly want as I walked down to my office. He was sitting on the couch by the wall which was for visitors and in the same room as my secretary.
On sighting me, he stood up and I raised a brow waiting for him to state his purpose here.
“I have a message for you. Can we go into your office?”
I knew that this message definitely had to have come from Alexander and as much as I didn’t want to invite his best friend in to relay anything from him, I didn’t want to risk him spitting out something that I’d rather not have other people hear in front of my secretary. That being decided, I went to unlock my door before going in and letting him come in behind me.
“So?” I asked once we were both seated.
“Alexander wanted me to tell you something.”
Having already established that I just sighed and massaged my temples, “And what could that be?”
“He wants you to train with the pack fighters tomorrow morning.”
I raised my brow, “And do I look like a pack fighter to Alexander? I already have a training group with other women at my level.”
“I’m sure you do but for whatever reason, this is what Alexander wants, and apart from that, it’s a command from your Alpha. I’m pretty sure you know that disobedience to the Alpha’s commands comes with consequences.” He said and without waiting for me to say anything else, gave me a nod before a smile broke out from his serious look, “Cheer up, Isabella. I’m sure it won’t be horrible.”
He said before leaving me to glare at his back.
What sort of insane command was that and out of nowhere too? What did he aim to achieve by this? I couldn’t help wondering, not knowing whether to cry or scream. Deciding to just focus on deep breaths instead, I packed up my stuff before switching off all electrical appliances and making my way to the lift. It had been a long day and it was about time I went home and gave my pillow a large hug.
The next day, I woke up bright and early and groaned when I remembered the pack fighter training that the biggest d i ck in the pack had commanded me to join. He wasn’t even man enough to tell me himself. Shame.
I put on my exercise clothes and packed my hair into a regular ponytail before sliding a towel, water bottle, and other essentials into a duffel bag before making myself a protein shake which I drank on my way to my car.
Throwing the duffel into the back seat, I placed the shake in the cup holder while I got into the car and started the engine. By the time I got to the pack house, I had drank up the entire drink and was ready to find out why exactly Alexander wanted me here.
The pack house gym was an exquisite facility. I didn’t know if it was because we were such a big and wealthy pack or if other packs had structures just as great but our pack really did have a lot of exquisite structures. The gym was well and fully equipped and there was also a wide training area outside for training that needed to be done in open air, which usually involved shifting into your wolf.
Although the pack house was open to all members of the pack, the gym here was compulsory to be used by pack fighters since the

Alpha trained here so other pack members -including me- just chose to train at the two other training facilities we had. So when I walked into a room filled with guys, it was no surprise when they all turned to look at me. Some with confusion, others with disdain, and most with admiration or desire which I kinda expected.
One of the guys who didn’t look too happy to see me here was about to say something when the door was pushed open and Alexander and Blake walked in. With one single raise of an eyebrow to the rest of the guys, he managed to get everybody to go take their eyes off me and carry on with what they were doing.
“Blake, you’re in charge of training her.” He said without even looking at me and it was time for my eyebrows to fly up. Didn’t I at least deserve an explanation as to what I was even doing here? My temper was rising as I opened my mouth to say something but he just walked away.
