The woman in the corner seemed to hear the commotion behind her, because she looked back over her shoulder and saw Laney pummeling towards her.
She leaped to her feet and was about to run away, but Laney got to her first. Laney grabbed her by the coat and tried to yank off her mask.
The woman in black gritted her teeth and fought Laney off.
Laney was taken aback. This woman in black turned out to be quite strong and moved nimbly. Obviously, she was a trained fighter.
Although Laney was a better fighter than the woman in black, she was pregnant now.

A dining cart came rushing towards them! Laney had no choice but to jump backwards. The woman in black seized the opportunity to push Laney away and then bolted out of the restaurant.
Just now, when Laney rushed to the corner of the restaurant, Janet tried to run after her.
But before she could help, she saw that the woman in black had pushed Laney, who then fell heavily to the ground.

The female bodyguard was about to rush out to chase after the woman in black, but Janet stopped her. “Laney’s bleeding! We have to get her to the hospital now!”
The female bodyguard hesitated. Her job was to protect Janet and catch the person who was trying to hurt her. “Hurry! Her life might be in danger! I can’t carry her by myself!” Janet couldn’t help but raise her voice at the hesitant bodyguard. “We have to take her to the hospital right now. Nothing is more important than my best friend’s life!”
Tears welled up in her eyes and her voice grew hoarse. She was really worried about Laney.
Finally, the bodyguard caved and carried Laney into a taxi while Janet got in from the other side. Together, they rushed to the hospital.

The woman in black didn’t stop until she had made it into a remote alley, glancing over her shoulder to see if anyone had followed her. To her surprise, the alley was empty.
The woman ran all the way to a nearby cafe.
In the most secluded corner of the cafe sat a beautiful woman, eating dessert leisurely. It was Vivian.
Vivian looked up in surprise when the woman she had hired approached her breathlessly.
She put down her spoon with a frown and asked, “What’re you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to keep an eye on Janet?”
The woman in black was a little anxious. She slumped into a chair and to catch her breath before finally saying, “They almost caught me. Janet not only had a bodyguard by her side, but also a friend who has a sixth sense or something. I didn’t know how, but she found me and put up a good fight. She must’ve had training. She’s even better than me.”
“Did she see your face?” Vivian’s frown deepened. She had lost her appet*ite. “Aren’t you a professional? Why can’t you do what I asked you to? The task was so simple: scare Janet.”
The woman in black was also speechless. “They didn’t see my face, but you gave me the wrong information. Janet isn’t afraid of ghosts at all. I feel like she toys with me every time I call her!”
With her arms crossed over her chest, Vivian leaned against the back of her chair. She had calmed down and seemed to be thinking about something.
In fact, Vivian didn’t know Janet was so bold.
