Chapter 55
Ella’s POV:
Today is my wedding day.
I was looking at myself in the mirror. I was wearing the most breathtaking wedding dress I have ever laid eyes on.
As soon as I saw it at the shop, I told Sara that that is my dress. It was the first and only thing I personally chose from the entire wedding.
It was an A-line, V neck, open back, just a little puffy, white wedding dress. It had a long tail, shoulder straps, it was mostly made of glittery Tulle, and entirely filled with floral lace appliques of different sizes.
I was so in love with the dress, to the extent that I no longer hated the idea of a wedding.
My golden hair was styled in a loose soft curls half updo with soft short curls in the front to frame my face, accessorized by a floral headpiece in the front. It was done by Linda.
Sara applied my make up for me consisting of white shimmering eyeshadow, a winged black eye liner, long eyelashes, and a dark pink lipstick.
“You chose the perfect dress Ella. You look so beautiful in it,” said Sara admiringly.
She was wearing a strapless, long silk, emerald green dress. Her hair was pulled in an elegant ponytail.
“Thank you,” I said to her.
We were sitting in a dressing room next to the wedding hall. I was sitting with Sara, Linda, and Stephanie.
Linda and Stephanie were wearing soft pink dresses per Sara’s request. They both looked so pretty.
“Ok I am going to see if everything is ready, I will mind link you when it’s time,” she gave me a quick k!ss on my forehead and left the room.
I turn to Linda and Stephanie, burning with curiosity to know the answer to something.
“Why did you two smile mysteriously when I told you I was getting married to alpha Klaus the other day?”
They sneak peeks at each other, there it was, that look again!
I stare at them expectantly.
“We kind of expected there was something going on between you and alpha Klaus,” said Stephanie with a small smile.
I stare at them in shock “What made you think like that?” I asked nervously.
“Well, when we found out what happened at the alpha ceremony, we went to your room to check on you, but you were sleeping. As soon as alpha Klaus opened your door and saw us, he became so outraged, we have never seen him this mad before over anyone. So we put one plus one and suspected that you had feelings for each other. He was smiling when he left your room that morning even though he was so mad at the beginning; probably because he saw you dancing so openly with Jake, your amazing dance together screamed chemistry, the way he was about to rip our heads off because he almost lost you, these all meant one thing,” Said Linda teasingly.
Well, when she put it like that, it seemed so obvious all of a sudden. All those things indicated that he felt something for me.
But he didn’t say anything to me about that when I asked him why he was accepting my offer.
“Ella it’s time,” Sara mind linked me.
I shook my head to clear it from that confusing and complicated train of thought. It wasn’t time for it. I had to get through my Luna wedding now.
I stood up and told them “Ok, it’s time. Let’s go.”
“Don’t forget your bouquet,” Linda handed me the bouquet I totally forgot about.
The bouquet was made of white baby’s breath arranged in a large circle, and small white roses in the middle.
We stood on the right side of the wedding hall’s closed doors and waited for the guards to open the door on the cue of the music playing inside.
I took that time to take deep calming breaths.
Don’t panic, Ella. Even though there are going to be a tremendous amount of people all staring at me, but still, don’t panic. Just forget about them and focus only on alpha Klaus.
I haven’t seen or talked to alpha Klaus since my birthday dinner, three days ago. I don’t know if he was avoiding me, or really busy.
The doors opened and Stephanie walked inside first, followed by Linda.
I had to wait until they reached their position to walk inside.
At that point I was practically fidgeting with my eyes closed. I had no idea why I was so nervous.
I wasn’t even nervous at all when I walked out into the stage and looked every single member of my old pack in the eyes before I was punished.
“Wow Ella, you look absolutely incredible, Sara already told me, but hearing and seeing are completely different,” said Joseph gently.
I jumped a little and opened my eyes to look at him.
He was wearing a grey suit and black tie. He looked so handsome.
“Thank you,” I said in a low voice, even my voice was shaking a little.
“I came here because I know all of this must be overwhelming. Would it help if I walked you down the aisle and gave you away to Klaus myself?” he asked warmly.
I stared at him in affection and hugged him tightly.
“Thank you so much,” I whispered and squeezed him so hard.
“It is my absolute honor, kiddo,” he whispered back emotionally.
He offered me his elbow and I linked mine with his as we waited for our turn.
We started walking towards the entrance, and all of my anxiety disappeared by holding on to Joseph.
The hall was so beautiful. Sara did an amazing job, I had to admit.
It was filled with a magnificent amount of people on both sides, how they even fit inside that hall was hard to grasp.
My eyes went over to find alpha Klaus at the head of the aisle and they automatically froze there.
He looked so attractive in a black and white suit. He was wearing black pants, white shirt with a black bow tie, and a white jacket with black collars. His ash blond hair was styled in a ponytail just like the alpha ceremony. White really suited him. He should wear it more often, I noted.
Joseph and I walked in steady steps down the very long aisle. My eyes were focused only on the alpha, and I noticed that his were focused on me as well.
He was giving me a devouring look, that increased the beating of my already throbbing heart.
Finally, we reached him as Joseph held my right hand, handed it over to the alpha, and went to stand behind him since he was his best man.
As Linda stepped up to take my bouquet from me, I faced him and held his other hand as well. I didn’t realize how much I have really missed his touch until I felt his hands on me. Suddenly, I felt as if I was missing a piece of me for days, and the second I touched him, I became whole again. It was such an incredible feeling and I couldn’t help but wonder if he felt the same.
The priest standing in the center to my left started speaking through a microphone so that everyone could hear him.
“First, I’d like to begin by welcoming everyone and thanking each and every one of you for being here on this most happy of days. The most remarkable moment in life is when you meet the person who makes you feel complete. The person who makes the world a beautiful and magical place. The person with whom you share a bond so special that it transcends normal relationships and becomes something so pure and so wonderful, that you can’t imagine spending another day of your life without them. So, without further ado, Dearly beloved and honored guests. We are gathered together here to join Alpha Klaus Morgan and Ella Forbes in the union of marriage.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly, but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. The bride and groom have each prepared vows that they will read now.”
The priest looks at me expectantly, and holds the mic closer to me.
I take a deep breath, clear my throat, and speak my vows to alpha Klaus confidently through the microphone.
I had no idea how to write vows, but Jake thankfully came to my rescue. He taught me how to find vows through the internet. I just picked the ones that mostly honored the real deal between us, and memorized them.
“I promise to be your honest, faithful, and loving wife for the rest of my days. I pledge to honor you, love you and cherish you as my husband today and every day. I promise to be your guiding light in the darkness, a warming comfort in the cold, and shoulder to lean on when life is too much to bare on your own. I vow to stand with you against your troubles and to look to you when I need protection.”
I said it all without wavering or breaking eye contact with him.
The priest moves the mic closer to alpha Klaus to speak his own vows.
“You have taught me that two people joined together with respect, trust, and open communication can be far stronger and happier than each could ever be alone. You are the strength I didn’t know I needed, and the joy that I didn’t know I lacked. Today, I choose to spend the rest of my life with you. I take you as mine, knowing and loving all of your strengths and faults, just as I offer myself to you as yours with all of my strengths and faults. I will be there for you in your times in need, just as I know I can turn to you when I need a guiding hand. I promise to be there to catch you if you should stumble, carry you over every threshold, and fall in love with you every day. Forever with you simply will not be enough, but from this day forward, I vow to make the most of every moment. Today I join my life to yours, not simply as your husband, but as your friend, your lover, and your biggest supporter. Let me be the shoulder you lean on and the companion of your life.”
I barely hold back tears after hearing his vows. My vows compared to his were nothing. His words; whether he said them just for the sake of the ceremony or he really meant them, were so consuming.
The way he looked at me when he said them made me believe his vows for real. But I didn’t want to fool myself. Not before he admits his real feelings in private.
The priest carries on.
“Ella Forbes, do you take alpha Klaus Morgan to be your husband? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him, forsaking all others, and holding only unto him forevermore?”
“I do,” I answer instantly.
“Alpha Klaus Morgan, do you take Ella Forbes to be your wife? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect her, forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore?”
“I do,” answers alpha Klaus.
“Alpha Klaus and Ella will now exchange rings as a symbol of love and commitment to each other. Rings are a precious metal; they are also made precious by you wearing them. Your wedding rings are special; they enhance who you are. They mark the beginning of your long journey together. Your wedding ring is a circle, a symbol of love never ending. It is the seal of the vows you have just taken to love each other without end.
Alpha Klaus, please place the ring on Ella’s finger and repeat after me:
“As a sign of my love that I have chosen you above all else, with this ring, I thee wed.”
“As a sign of my love that I have chosen you above all else, with this ring, I thee wed.”
Joseph handed alpha Klaus my ring, and he placed it on my finger. It was so alluring. It was a white gold, pear shaped diamond ring surrounded by smaller diamonds on both sides.
“And Ella, please place the ring on alpha Klaus’s finger and repeat after me: As a sign of my love that I have chosen you above all else, with this ring, I thee wed.”
“As a sign of my love that I have chosen you above all else, with this ring, I thee wed.”
I took his ring from Linda and placed it on his finger. It was a thick black wedding ring. Even his ring was black, I thought to myself. It still suited him better than the original silver ring.
“And now by the power vested in me, it is my honor and delight to declare you married. Go forth and live each day to the fullest. You may k!ss the bride”
