Chapter 103 Melissa Must Be Held Accountable
Melissa and Cher glared at each other for about half an hour before Cher’s mother, Luciana Sherman. arrived.
Freya look a glance at Luciana, who was about forty years old and dressed in exquisite clothes.
“Oh, my poor baby!” At the sight of Cher’s bruised face, Luciana hugged her daughter and shot a hard glare at Freya and Melissa.
Seeing her mother, Cher put on a look as if she had been wronged. Tears dripped down her face as she pointed out. “Mom, that’s Melissa. I only said a few words, and she hit me!”
“Bullsh*t! You were the one who bad-mouthed my cousin first and pointed your finger so close at my nose!” Melissa retorted.
Quickly, Freya held her cousin down.
Luciana looked them up and down. A hint of disdain appeared in her eyes.
Freya had come in a hurry today and was only wearing casual clothes.
Although Melissa was the daughter of the Marshalls, she had a lively personality and was not interested in jewelry since she had seen them a lot when she was young. Today, she was dressed casually in sportswear,
Luciana’s attitude soon became more demanding. She pointed at Melissa and chided, “Cher has never hit anyone. How dare you hurt her! A bad student like you must be expelled!”
Hearing that, Melissa was so angry that she glared at Luciana, but Freya pulled her back.
At the same time, Yosef heard the commotion and came out of his office.
As soon as he saw Luciana, his stern face brightened up, and he smiled flatteringly. “Mrs. Wallace thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule. There’s no other way. Both sides of parents present for a possible reconciliation.”
Luciana frowned, glancing contemptuously at Freya and Melissa, then snorted coldly. “Recon Workman, did you not see the bruises on my daughter’s face?”
Yosef pulled his lips awkwardly. “It’s entirely up to you whether to reconcile the conflict or not, but procedure of both parties being present must be followed.
Scornfully, Freya watched as Yosef stood next to Luciana and said something to the latter, Luciana then glanced at Hannah, who was sitting on the chair behind her, with a slight panic on her face.
But soon, Luciana regained her composure.
She looked at Yosef and announced with her voice slightly raised, “Cher told me that it was that girl, Melissa, who hit her, and it has nothing to do with Miss Monaghan. Hence, Melissa is solely responsible for the assault.”
Hannah watched with disdain from the side, just about to stand up. Then, she thought of something and
sat stili.
This must be the perfect time for a hero to save a beauty
Melissa Must Be Held Accountable
Quietly, Hannah took out her phone and aimed her camera at Luciana.
Meanwhile, Freya knew that Luciana was looking down on her background and didn’t dare to offend the Monaghans. So, Luciana shifted the blame onto Melissa solely.
Freya scoffed and looked at Yosel. “Mr. Workman, since the parents are here, let’s see whose fault it is.”
“What do you mean by whose fault? My daughter was beaten to this state, and you have the nerve to say that! Just look at you two’s poverty-stricken and despicable appearance, I can tell you’re not good people.”
Looking disgusted, Luciana held her arms and continued, “You’re the kind of people who are extremely poor and despicable. Anyway, why didn’t your parents come? Are you two orphans?”
Melissa clenched her fists. There was a fierceness on her beautiful and heroic face. “Frey!”
Freya ignored Luciana. Her face was devoid of emotion, and her pupils were dark. “Things happened on campus during the preparation for Foundation Day. I remember there are surveillance cameras in the auditorium. Why don’t we check the footage to see who initiated the conflict?”
As soon as Freya mentioned that, Cher nervously grabbed her mother’s arm and shook her head quietly.
Luciana narrowed her eyes and immediately understood. “No matter who initiated the conflict, it’s wrong to resort to violence! The truth is right in front of us. That wild girl assaulted my daughter and her friends!”
Cher covered her injured face and glared at Melissa with resentment, mocking, “Yeah, and Melissa has great strength. She’s rude and barbaric too. Perhaps she used to be a cowherd when she was young. Tsk. Isk. This kind of person shouldn’t have studied at Evergreen University. She lowers the standard of our college!”
Hearing that, Freya looked at them icily. “Oh? Mrs. Wallace, are you afraid to check the surveillance footage? What are you trying to hide? Don’t you and your daughter want Melissa to be expelled? For that to happen, you must have evidence made public!”
Provoked, Luciana was so angry that she poked her finger onto Freya’s face.
Freya easily slapped her hand to the side.
At the same time, Melissa was excited on the side. “Frey, that’s exactly what Cher did to me! After I shoved her hand away, she scratched me!”
Freya was surprised at Melissa’s excitement. “Quiet.”
“Alright.” Melissa sat obediently.
On the other hand, Yosef and Luciana exchanged a look. Luciana’s expression was tense. “Mr. Workman, my family has done a lot for Evergreen University. You can’t return kindness with ingratitude and not punish the person who injured my daughter. Don’t forget that Cher is also a student here!”
Yosef was put in a difficult situation. Freya’s request to see the surveillance footage was perfectly reasonable.
It was difficult for him to find a reason to refuse her.
Squinting her eyes contemptuously at Freya, Luciana continued to pressure Yosef. “My husband has been thinking about building a new library for the university. But if you don’t expel someone like Melissa, it
means that my family will be investing in someone who has assaulted my daughter. The Wallaces will not accept this!”
A new library?
Yosef’s gaze flickered slightly. “I’ll have someone check the surveillance footage.”
After Yosef had sent someone, Freya sat there with a frown.
She knew Yosef well when she was studying here. Yosef had embezzled school funds many tirnes.
There was no way that Yosef would put his interest aside and go against the rich.
Freya pulled Melissa to sit down, took out her phone, and switched her phone systems.
Her phone was directly connected to her computer and server at home. Swiftly, she used her computer remotely to invade Evergreen University’s network and downloaded the surveillance footage to her own computer.
During the whole process, Melissa was watching calmly from the side.
She was long aware that her cousin was a skillful and well-known hacker.
In contrast, Hannah was stunned when she saw a long string of code appearing on Freya’s phone screen. Soon, a video came into view. It showed the interior of an auditorium.
Hannah was absolutely impressed.
Standing next to them, Brisa had been silent for all this while. She was shocked at the sight of Freya’s phone screen.
D*mn, do all the rich young ladies nowadays have such skills?
After about ten minutes, the man who was sent to check the surveillance footage returned. “Mr. Workman. the surveillance camera in the auditorium isn’t working.”
“What? How did it break? Alas, what are we going to do now?” Yosef furrowed his brows, looking as if he was annoyed.
The man responded, “Well, we’ve been getting ready for the centennial celebration. Maybe some of the students accidentally hit the camera with a ladder when they were hanging ribbons and decorations.” Sitting on the side with a freezing and gloomy expression, Freya didn’t respond.
Smugly, Luciana took a look at Freya and sounded. “Mr. Workman, the camera is broken now, but the bruises on my daughter’s face are real. Melissa assaulted multiple girls today. She must be held accountable!”
