Chapter 79
Kaylee’s anger flared up. “What do you mean? Are you saying I don’t have the body figure for it? Why would I want an identical gown? If I wanted the same style, I wouldn’t need you designers!”
The stylist turned pale. In all her years of serving celebrities and socialites, she had never encountered someone as unreasonable as Kaylee.
Fortunately, the manager arrived just in time, quickly trying to smooth things over, “They don’t know how to speak, Ms. Reed, don’t be angry. Why don’t you try this one? It also just arrived today, and it won an award at this year’s spring show. Take a look and see if you
like it.”
As the manager finished speaking, Celeste emerged from the fitting room.
The gown was a deep red silk, with a strong drape, fully revealing a woman’s curves. Celeste’s fair skin contrasted beautifully with the bold color, making her even more alluring.
Liam’s gaze lingered for a few seconds before naturally shifting away.
Seeing Celeste wear the gown, Kaylee wanted it even more.
She was eager to shed her little girl image in Mason’s eyes, hoping he would treat her like a woman. Celeste embodied the effect she desired.
“I don’t want that one, Kaylee ran over to Liam and acted cute, “Bro, I want to try the one Celeste is wearing.”
Liam said indifferently. “It’s not suitable for you.”
Kaylee was dissatisfied, “I haven’t even tried, so how do you know it’s not suitable. My figure isn’t that different from Celeste’s.”
Liam didn’t respond, instead looking at Celeste and asking, “What do you think?”
What could she think? No matter what she thought, it would still be up to Liam in the end, right?
Just like last year, when she didn’t even get to see her birthday cake before he gave it to Kaylee. When she threw a tantrum, Liam just looked annoyed and told her she was making a fuss over a piece of cake. He didn’t understand that she didn’t care about a cake or a dress. What she cared about was Liam’s attention.
If it wasn’t meant for her, even if she liked it, she didn’t have the audacity to ask for it.
Celeste’s expression was neutral, “If Kaylee wants to try. let her try. I’ll go change.”
Saying that, she turned around and went back into the fitting room, not even looking at Liam.
Liam’s eyes were deep, and it was unclear what he was thinking.
Kaylee took the gown and excitedly went to try it on.
She was slightly shorter than Celeste, with a less ideal proportion, and less fair skin. In addition, she had more fat around her waist, so she had to suck in her belly to barely pull off the dress.
But her looks was far inferior to Celeste’s.
Celeste was stunningly beautiful and poised, while Kaylee, despite inheriting Skyler’s looks, had less delicate features and lacked Skyler’s elegance.
Wearing the gown, she looked like a child trying on adult clothes, and it just felt off no matter how you looked at it.
Kaylee was just over the moon with the dress, spinning around in front of the mirror before happily running over to Liam. “Liam, this is the one I want!”
As soon as she said that, all eyes turned to Celeste.
One was Mr. Reed’s wife, the other was Mr. Reed’s sister-who would he side with?
Without any surprise, Liam made his choice-he told Celeste, “You can pick another one.”
Even though she had already guessed the outcome, Celeste couldn’t help but feel incredibly disappointed when she heard Liam’s decision.
He never took her side.
Suddenly feeling rebellious, she looked up and said, “The dress was made to my size, why should I give it to her?”
