Chapter 7
She just sent the message, and the next second she was kicked out of the group chat.
“Daydreaming?” The receptionist’s desk was knocked twice, and a handsome man leaned on the counter with his elbows, pointing at her with his chin. He said half–jokingly, “Am I paying you to daydream?”
This person was Nicolas Francis, the boss of Galaxy Games.
The receptionist knew Nicolas’s temper well and was not afraid of him at all, “Boss, aren’t you the one who’s always missing in action?”
“Hmph, you’ve got quite a sharp tongue!” Nicolas wanted to joke with the receptionist, but suddenly an untimely cough came from behind. He immediately hid the smile on his lips and said seriously, “Where’s Xabier? Ask him to come over.”
“Director Xabier is doing a sound check for the actors.” The receptionist said..
“Sound check?” Nicolas was stunned, “Is Celestial Haze here?”
The receptionist nodded.
A glimmer of surprise flashed in Nicolas’s eyes, but seeing Liam’s serious face, he quickly suppressed his joy and said solemnly. “Call Xabier, I have something to ask him.”
The phone was quickly connected, and Nicolas pressed the phone in speaker, “Xabier, how’s the sound check? If it doesn’t work, I have an actor here with a pretty good voice.”
“No need, we’ve already tested and signed the contract.” Xabier said.
The contract hadn’t been drafted yet, but Xabier obviously heard the boss’s hint. Only then Nicolas breathed a sigh of relief and pretended to say in relaxation, “Signing someone is a big deal you know. And you didn’t even consult me. Who’s the
boss here?”
The phone hung up, and Nicolas said annoyedly, “This Xabier, he’s more and more arrogant now!” Then he said to Liam, “You heard it, the contract is signed, we can only wait for the next update. If there’s a suitable role coming up, we’ll arrange
for her then.”
Legend was produced by Galaxy Games, and it was his most satisfying work. He didn’t want Sydney to ruin this perfection.
Liam glanced at Nicolas indifferently, “I’ll pay double the penalty, let her give up this role. As for the new project, I’ll give you three more points of the revenue.”
Nicolas stopped smiling and looked at Liam seriously for a few seconds, asking, “Are you serious?”
Liam didn’t answer, but his eyes said it all.
Nicolas said, “Always stuffing her with resources, I’m starting to doubt if those rumors online are true.”
Liam only cared about the results and asked, “So, can you do it or not?”
Nicolas said, “Let me think about it.”
Just as Liam was about to say something, the elevator doors suddenly opened and they both saw each other. The familiar face made him freeze.
Celeste, however, only hesitated for half a second, not looking at him again and walking out of the elevator.
She nodded politely to Nicolas and then walked straight towards the door.
Nicolas asked in confusion, “Did your wife not see you?”
Liam ignored Nicolas and quickly followed her.
When he caught up with her, Celeste was standing by the roadside waiting for a car.
