Chapter 612
Did he really think that by bringing Sean over, she would willingly play into his hands? She would not go!
Not long after that, the dean of the orphanage called
“Celeste, sorry to bother you, but the test location for Sean this year is quite far from the orphanage. Professor Torres and I have no idea how to handle it and by the time we thought to book a hotel, it was too late. I’m worried Sean won’t get a good night’s sleep before the big day. Thank goodness you’re here.”
Every year during the college entrance exam period, hotels near the test locations were in high demand and prices were hiked up several times over. The most basic rooms started at over 3,000 and were pretty shabby, with poor soundproofing.
Those with a better environment basically started at five or six thousand, but you can’t even grab that.
The dean had initially planned to rent a camper and hire a driver to take Sean to the exam, where he could also rest at noon.
When Sean heard the price of the car rental, he immediately pulled the dean back.
He said he could sleep at 9 pm, wake up at 5 am, and be ready for the exam at 9 a.m. So he could keep up.
Having said that, the dean was still worried. But just then, Celeste sent someone to pick up Sean, instantly putting her at ease.
After listening to the dean, Celeste was silent.
That sneaky Liam had claimed to be acting on her behalf!
Thank you so much for the dean, Celeste was embarrassed to make such a fuss, “I’m not too busy, don’t bother, haha.”
“Celeste, there’s something else I need to tell you.”
“Go ahead.”
“You don’t need to send money to the orphanage anymore. Last week, we received a donation that’s enough to cover the orphanage’s expenses for a year. The donor also conveyed through the charity that they intend to be our long–term sponsor.”
“I know you and Shawn are involved in a lawsuit right now and you could use the money wisely. You don’t have to worry about the orphanage anymore. This donation will ensure the children are well taken care of.”
Celeste was taken aback. “Do you know who the donor is?”
“This is not clear, it’s an anonymous donation.”
“I see,” Celeste nodded. “Alright.”
The dean and Celeste chatted a bit longer, and before hanging up, the dean reminded Celeste to take some pictures of Sean before his exam to post on the orphanage’s website for publicity.
After promising the dean, Celeste had no choice but to go.
Sean was much more relaxed during his second visit to Pinecrest Manor.
Liam arranged for him to stay in the best soundproofed room. After Sean showered, Liam told him to get his books.
Sean was taken aback.
“Didn’t you pick me up to catch Letti?”
Sitting on the sofa by the window in his pajamas, Liam gave him a casual look, nodded, and said, “That’s right”
Liam really didn’t pretend at all..
“But I like doing plays and doing full sets”
Sean took out his textbooks and placed them on the small round table. Liam picked up one to flip through and asked.
“How are your grades usually?”
“About 620 points”
“Not that bad.”
The basics can definitely be Sean’s biggest blow since he was studying.
“Which subject drags your score down the most?”
“Physics… and a bit of math.”
The other subjects were fine.
Liam skimmed through Sean’s past papers and saw that Sean’s losing points were mainly in calculus, function increase–decrease judgment, or interval solution.
As for physics, it was probably because he spent too much time on multiple–choice questions, causing him to run out of time for the long answer questions.
Sean had seen Liam solving physics multiple choice questions mentally, but he wasn’t sure if Liam would tutor him.
