Chapter 571
She was cussing and struggling, leaving Nicolas for a moment unable to control her.
*Annoying jerk. Do you think I’m the kind to ditch my friends for a pretty face? Listen up. Even if you make Dr. Ledford even more attractive, I ain’t going! Get Liam out here now. If he dares to touch my Letti, I’ll make sure he’s screwed with you–uh-”
She was cut off when the elevator doors opened, and Nicolas simply kissed her, effectively silencing her.
The few people waiting to get on the elevator were a bit awkward at first.
They made their way, watching as Nicolas kissed the woman in his arms and took her out of the elevator.
Once they were out of sight, Nicolas let go. He took a breath and squinted. “I’m not asking for your permission. You’re going tonight!”
Trisha was red–faced from the forceful kiss, but her hands were still held behind her by Nicolas. She was helpless to retaliate.
Seeing her unusually quiet, Nicolas pinched her face and said, “I guarantee I’ll help you win Jace over.”
Trisha: “If Liam hurts Celeste today, I’ll deal with you before I deal with him!”
Nicolas chuckled. Despite her temper, the girl was loyal.
“Don’t worry. He wouldn’t dare.”
He let go of her hands and instead grabbed her arm, saying, “Come on, let’s go orf our date.”
Trisha frowned. “How am I supposed to go on a date in my pajamas?”
Nicolas was inexplicably in a good mood and generously said, “I will take you shopping for a new outfit; I guarantee you’ll steal the show later.”
With that, he shoved her into a taxi.
Not long after Trisha left, the doorbell rang.
Celeste, having just washed the foam off her face, shouted, “Did you forget your keys?”
The password lock on Trisha’s door was broken, and the landlord hadn’t come to replace it yet. They had been using a key to get in.
There was no response from outside.
Celeste wiped her hands and went to open the door.
Instead of Trisha, it was Liam standing outside.
Celeste was startled for a second and immediately tried to close the door. Liam reached out to stop it and got his hand caught in the
door.
Feeling something caught, Celeste panicked and let go.
Liam was pale as a sheet, leaning against the door, with a deep imprint on his hand and signs of bleeding on the back of his hand.
Celeste frowned. “What the hell, why did you stick your hand in?”
Liam looked up. “If I didn’t stick my hand in, would you let me in?”
Celeste pursed her lips and said, “Even if you did, I still wouldn’t let you in.”
With that, she closed the door.
Liam looked at the mark on the back of his hand and pressed his lips together.
Celeste was irritable. She was already on edge because of Shawn’s report, and now Liam was adding fuel to the fire.
Did he think she was a pushover?
She had a drink of water, put on a face mask, and paced around her room. A few minutes later, she went to the door and peered out the -peephole.
There was no one outside; it seemed Liam had left.
She pursed her lips and opened the door.
Liam was sitting on the ground, seemingly contemplating something. Blood was seeping from the back of his right hand.
