My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 558

Chapter 558
He stayed there until he was about eleven or twelve before returning to his parents.
By then, the Francis family’s business in J City had developed well, his siblings were either married or in college. His family didn’t have deep feelings for this son they hadn’t raised for over ten years, but they still gave him everything he deserved and sent him to the best private school in J City.
At that time, all the students in his class were from wealthy families. Nicolas‘ parents were in the seafood business, supplying half of the restaurants in J City. So some students would mock him for selling fish. Some students deliberately excluded him, but there were always some children who didn’t participate in it.
Among them were Liam and Mason.
They were very close.
At first, because he was bullied by those so–called aristocratic sons, Nicolas despised them.
He thought, What’s so great about them? Just because they have capable fathers? A bunch of garbage.
One time, when Liam was maliciously pushed and injured his leg on the field, Mason immediately fought with that bully.
The bully was tall and big; Mason hadn’t fully developed yet; he was skinny and didn’t look like he could take on the bully at all. But he was ruthless; he picked up a rock and smashed it on the bully’s head, causing him to bleed on the spot, and the scene was instantly chaotic.
Liam, despite the pain, took the rock from Mason and told him to leave immediately.
Of course, neither of them could escape in the end.
Both of them claimed to be the one who hit the guy, and none of the witnesses dared to testify. In the end, they both got reprimanded. From then on, Nicolas changed his view of these wealthy sons. He realized not everyone was bad; there were people like Liam and Mason who were passionate and loyal.
So he started to approach the two of them. Nicolas grew up in a small town and knew how to have fun. He could always find interesting things to do. At first, Liam seemed a bit aloof.
But how aloof can a teenage boy be? As time passed, the three of them started hanging out together.
But Nicolas always felt that Liam and Mason’s relationship was the best.
Now that they’re at odds, it’s really weird.
“We’re all adults now; let’s set a time for a drink together. I tell you, those people who made trouble at the hospital last time, Mason helped Celeste settle it. Also, at Celeste’s mother’s funeral, Mason did his best to help. These were things you should have done as a husband; you really should thank him.”
The more Liam listened, the more uncomfortable he felt.
He said sternly, “We’ll talk about it later.”
With Liam unwilling to come to Celeste’s side, the issue couldn’t be resolved, which would directly affect the house–buying issue. She felt terribly guilty, so she gave the agent a 500–dollar shopping card, and the house buying had to be put on hold. However, there was progress on Detective K’s side.
He managed to get in touch with the driver, who had been involved in the investigation of the Campbell family back in the day. Half a year after the accident, this driver quit his job and had been out of work ever since. But he somehow had enough dough to renovate his house.
His family was even considered pretty loaded in the local area.
No income, yet no shortage of cash to splash around. Just that alone was a red flag.
Detective K also looked into the other taxi involved in the accident.
But the outcome wasn’t exactly peachy. After receiving the compensation, both the driver’s and the passenger’s families packed up and left. J City. He tried every trick in the book to find out where they’d gone after leaving J City, but it was as if they’d vanished into thin air.
