Chapter 547
Chapter 547
It could even run with the other horses these days, so he thought it was tamed. He didn’t expect such an accident to happen today.
He untied the reins and threw them aside, then used a brush to clean the dust off the horse’s body. When he touched its neck, the horse suddenly became agitated, snorting and stomping its hooves, looking very uneasy.
The trainer found it strange and noticed a shallow wound on the horse’s neck, still bleeding.
The dark hair on the neck and the reins‘ position had made it difficult to see the wound at first.
The trainer frowned, closely examining the wound.
It looked somewhat like a cut, but also not quite. The skin and flesh around the wound had been rubbed raw by the reins, making it difficult to see the original wound.
No wonder Liam’s pulling on the reins only made the horse more out of control.
The more he pulled, the more the horse’s pain intensified, making it even more agitated.
Unsure of the wound’s cause, the trainer reported the injured horse to Mr. Robinson and asked the veterinarian to come and treat it, as the old lady also liked this horse.
Celeste pulled Mason out of the racetrack and left the estate.
She looked tense the whole way, and Mason just let her lead him without saying anything.
Once they left the mansion and got in the car, Mason said, “We should’ve told Grandma.”
As Celeste started the car, she said, “Liam can talk, he’ll tell her.”
Mason pursed his lips and, after a while, asked softly. “Are you worried about Liam?”
okay
“How could I be?” Celeste said, “I have nothing to do with him anymore. I’m just angry that he’s so irresponsible. I’m just glad you’re okay today.”
Mason’s eyes softened, and he said gently. “It’s just a minor injury, no big deal. We can’t blame Liam entirely. I wanted to race too.”
“You don’t need to defend him. He’s a grown man and still so immature!”
Celeste didn’t want to talk about Liam anymore, or she’d keep thinking about him falling off the horse.
She changed the subject and talked about the lawsuit with Mason. Soon, they arrived at the nearest clinic in her car
After treating Mason’s injury, Celeste took him back to the law firm.
Leaving the law firm, Celeste looked down at the dust on her shoes.
It was from when she stumbled while running as Liam jumped from Sugar to the brown horse.
She squatted down and wiped it with a tissue, suddenly thinking of Liam and feeling annoyed.
At that moment, her phone rang. She glanced at it and saw an unknown number.
Celeste answered the call.
“Hello,” a hoarse male voice came from the other end of the line, “Is this Ms. Celeste?”
The voice was unfamiliar, someone she didn’t know. Instead of answering, Celeste cautiously asked, “Who is this?”
“Didn’t you send me an email a few days ago?”
Email?
Celeste was taken aback for a moment, and then suddenly remembered
“Are you Mr. K?”
The other person gave a hum, “I’ve read your request. Are you available today? We can meet up and have a detailed chat”
Celeste quickly agreed, “Of course!”
