locking straight onto Mason.
Chapter 542
Mason’s gaze collided with his, not avoiding it at all.
His eyes seemed calm, but actually it was a storm inside.
Liam took a sip of tea and put the cup back on the table. “You’re really making a fuss over nothing. We’ve got so many cars at home, it’s no big deal to lend her one to get home.”
Mason laughed a bit, “I’m just afraid Celeste won’t want to take it, she doesn’t like taking advantage of others”
Liam didn’t seem to catch who Mason was referring to by “others,” and said, “well, we’ve had dinner, chatted a bit, and had some tea. You should head home early”
Mason’s mouth twitched, and just as he was about to speak, Liam said, “Oh, I just remembered your mom said you can’t sleep if you drink tea,” and he picked up Mason’s cup of tea and took a sip himself. “Don’t drink the tea then, just hurry up and leave.”
Mason was speechless.
It seemed that Liam had become more talkative after not seeing him for a few years.
At that moment, Celeste brought out a plate of sliced fruit and called out, “Mr. Fletcher, have some fruit.”
Mason’s face softened a bit, and he thanked her warmly.
Liam wanted to grab some fruit, but realized Celeste had cut a plate of mangoes.
He glanced at Celeste, “Isn’t there any strawberries?”
Celeste shot him a look. “Mr. Fletcher doesn’t like strawberries.”
Liam’s face darkened.
She didn’t know Mason for a long time. But she even knew his preference.
Celeste was actually just making things up. She didn’t really know what kind of fruit Mason liked, she just didn’t want Liam to eat the fruit she cut, so she purposely cut a plate of mangoes since Liam was allergic to them.
Strawberries were Liam’s favorite fruit, but she deliberately didn’t cut them.
Mason seemed quite happy, discussing the follow–up handling of the defamation case with her in a low voice.
Celeste listened carefully, occasionally responding.
Liam listened from the side, gritting his teeth.
“It’s about time to take Sugar for a run,” Liam said, glancing at Mason. “It’ll probably take an hour or two. You’re so busy at your law firm, I won’t keep you any longer”
Celeste checked the time, and it had been two hours since Sugar had finished eating. According to their usual routine, it was indeed time to take him to the racetrack for a run.
Mason put down his fruit fork, “When I’m in court, there’s usually nothing else scheduled at the law firm, so I’m not too busy today. I haven’t seen Sugar in a long time, and I miss him. If you guys don’t mind, take me with you to see him,” then he said to Celeste, “I can give you a lift home afterwards.”
Celeste immediately agreed, “Of course, that’s great.” She could save some cab fare, which was always nice. Mason was an angel for helping her win the lawsuit and save money.
After winning the defamation lawsuit, there was still Shawn and Caitlyn’s property division case. She needed to maintain a good relationship with Mr. Fletcher. If they won the property division case, that would be another big income, right?
Liam’s face darkened as he watched Celeste smile at Mason.
