Celeste was dumbstruck.
“What did you say?”
The man looked at her expression, “You don’t know yet?”
Celeste had a bad feeling. “Know what?”
*Shawn and Caitlyn divorced a long time ago. We tried to get the money from Shawn but couldn’t, so we came to the hospital. We’re just trying to make a living Do you think we’d go out of our way to make things difficult for a young girl like you?”
Celeste’s face changed drastically
“What did you say?”
“I said your parents divorced a long time ago, so your dad has no reason to pay off your mom’s debt.” The man frowned, impatient. “Why am wasting my time talking to you? Just pay the money, or no one’s leaving this hospital room today!”
Celeste was a bit dazed.
They hadn’t gone through the divorce process when her mother had the accident. Why would this man say they were divorced?
If they really were divorced, when did it happen and how were the assets divided?
Celeste’s mind was in chaos. She said solemnly, “Let me make a call.”
With that, she dialed Shawn’s number, but no one answered.
She lowered her eyes, thinking of calling Mason, but suddenly remembered Liam’s words.
She clenched her fingers and called Nicolas instead.
Nicolas received Celeste’s call during a meeting
He had also been paying attention the news about Quantum and the Campbell family scandal these days.
If it weren’t for Liam being super angry recently, he would have already come to dig for gossip.
So when he saw Celeste’s call, his eyes lit up.
Without waiting for the meeting to end, he went out with his phone. His assistant thought he had a new girlfriend.
“Hey, Celeste, what made you think of calling me?”
“Mr. Francis, are you available right now?”
Nicolas immediately handed his work to his assistant, “Yeah, what’s up?”
“Can you come to the hospital? I need your help.”
“Which hospital? Send me the address.”
“I’ll text it to you in a bit.”
“Okay, I’ll be there soon.”
Celeste glanced at the people behind her and whispered, “Bring a few people with you. I’m afraid the situation might get out of control.”
Bring a few people? Are they going to fight?
Nicolas agreed, “Sure.” He hung up, thought about it, and called Mason.
“Mason, are you available?”
Mason was making calls to the people on the list at his law firm. When he received Nicolas’s call, he took off his glasses, pinched his brow, and said, “Just say what you want”
“Liam’s wife is in some trouble, and he’s on a business trip. Let’s go and give her some support.”
Mason hesitated, “How did you know she’s in trouble?”
“She called me,” Nicolas boasted, “I’m just too good, everyone loves asking me for help.”
Mason pursed his lips and didn’t say anything for a while.
“Are you going?” Nicolas asked.
“Where is it?”
“I’ll pick you up at your law firm.”
Mason agreed, “Alright, see you later”
