Chapter 265
“Anyway, if you wanna sign a contract, be sure to think of me first. If you can perform like you did before, I’d even let you be the boss!”
Celeste chuckled and teased, “Then I gotta play hard to get, so you guys will be willing to pay more.”
Her answer was deliberately vague, but Nicolas didn’t seem to mind; there was still plenty of time. Besides Galaxy Games, there weren’t many domestic companies that could compete. He didn’t believe that with his and Liam’s relationship, Celeste could slip through their fingers.
While talking, a sudden phone call interrupted their conversation.
Simon and the others were already at the restaurant, urging them to hurry over.
The conversation came to a halt.
Simon had booked a private room at Cuisine Cascade, the best restaurant in J City, with top-notch dishes and ambiance.
Food lovers from all over would flock here for a taste, which was a testament to its popularity.
Under the guidance of the waiter, the group smoothly arrived at the private room door. Upon entering, Celeste noticed that in addition to Simon and his wife, Steven Garcia was also present.
Beside Steven sat a girl who looked about her age, tanned with a healthy bronze complexion. She was smiling and chatting with Steven.
As Celeste wondered who this girl was, Nicolas said, “Molly? When did you get back?”
Molly?
That name sounded familiar!
The girl laughed, “I just got back a couple of days ago. I had plans with some friends today but ran into Steven, so I ditched them to come here.”
After a glance at Celeste, she greeted Liam, “Liam, long time no see.
She didn’t even bother to ask about Celeste.
Just as Nicolas was about to speak, Liam introduced her first, “This is my wife, Celeste.” Then he whispered to Celeste, This is Mason’s cousin Molly Fletcher.”
So she was the highly-favored youngster of the Fletcher family, as rumored.
Molly’s facial features had some resemblance to Mason’s, but he was still the more refined one.
Molly had unique features with her eyes closer together, giving her a sharp look.
Celeste politely greeted, “Hello.
Molly lazily looked at Celeste and said with a smile, “You don’t quite match Kaylee’s description of you; your plastic surgery is really well done.”
Her comment making people feel quite uncomfortable, whether it was blunt honesty or something more malicious.
Celeste frowned, debating whether to refute immediately or ignore the remark.
Just as she was considering how to respond, Michaela calmly interjected, “A perfectly symmetrical face, golden ratio of features, and normal muscle contractions… current technology isn’t capable of such perfection.”
The implication being that Celeste’s beauty was natural, not the result of plastic surgery.
Molly glanced at her and said, “It was just a joke, Mrs. Rowley. No need to be so serious.”
Michaela’s expression remained calm as she replied, “Being honest and pragmatic is just a professional habit.”
Molly scoffed, “Isn’t your job as a coroner? Can you really analyze living people too?”
Celeste could now confirm that Molly was genuinely rude! If someone spoke about her profession like that, she would definitely not be pleasant.
