Chapter 75
On my way to the hospital, I was able to process some of what had just happened.
I could still feel it. The hum of energy that ran deep inside of me that I never knew was actually there. I knew that this was the ultimate authority. This was something I never knew to ever exist and anyone else didn’t know about it either. If they knew that I had this control, I was confident that they would try to lock me up sooner. After all, there was a huge difference between following me by choice because I was selected by the Goddess and me having the ultimate
authority to control others by force. If the latter was known, I became an even larger threat to the traditional top-ranking officials.
As soon as I arrived, I could see that the hospital was quiet. There would only be a few staff around at this time of night, so it wasn’t supposed to be hard to navigate my way to find Isabella without being noticed. This was very important because I didn’t really want to worsen my current position.
only took very close calls of almost getting discovered and going down one or two wrong wings before I eventually found the door to Isabella’s room that had to be behind this door. I was sure of it because there was a warrior who guarded her. I really forgot that my father had told me that she had a warrior who guarded her. To make it even worse, I even recognized his face as one of the few warriors who were present when Isabella was found. It would be very unlikely for him to let me see her after he knew that I was dropped out of
the case and asked to not see her. Therefore, it only left me with one choice where I had to use my ultimate authority to stand him down.
However, I wasn’t even sure if I could do that again. The first time I did was really hurting. Besides, I also wasn’t confident about how dangerous it was for me to use that command after my body’s reaction for the first time. I nervously gulped before I closed my eyes to try to calm myself down. I had to this.
Once I was already inside those doors, I would be able to see Isabella. Then, I could end this once and for all. Hopefully, I would get the answers I needed while I did that.
‘I can do this,’ I whispered to myself quietly.
Just like that, I walked down through the hallway towards the warrior. As soon as he saw me, the warrior looked just as confused as Ray had been at the evidence locker. This time, didn’t stop to talk with them. Instead, I continued to walk toward the warrior as I tried to pull at that energy deep inside and bring it forward once more.
“The Beta’s heir?” he asked confusedly.
“I thought that you’re not a part of this case anymore. Wait, didn’t the Alpha’s heir, Benjamin, order-”
Soon enough, I grabbed his shirt so that he would be forced to meet my eyes.
“You’ll leave me. Now!” I ordered him with the ultimate authority by using a voice that didn’t feel like mine.
“Go to the bathroom. Stay there for 30 minutes. Don’t talk to
everyone. Don’t be noticed by anyone. After 30 minutes had passed, you may continue your guard, but you won’t remember that I was ever here.”
Just like Ray before, I could see that his eyes were glazing over because of what I ordered. However, the side effect hit me even quicker this time. As that warrior walked off to do what I asked him, I could feel my vertigo again as my legs started to weaken. It became so much worse than the last time. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was becoming more taxing to my body after everything I had done. First, I broke free from Benjamin’s command. Then, I commanded Ray. Now, I commanded this warrior who guarded Isabella.
There weren’t any breaks in between for me to recover. Although I was supposed to give myself a moment to rest, I didn’t waste my time when my head was cleared enough. That was it.
After that, I threw the door open as I quickly walked toward Isabella’s room. Somehow, I was able to move faster than I ever thought that I could. In fact, I was so fast that Isabella hadn’t even opened her eyes. At least, that was what I thought to be the case.
Then, I jumped onto her bed as I pinned her under me before I immediately drew the dagger to her throat.
“Before I begin, are you willing to confess?” I calmly asked her in a low voice.
While I expected her to get scared by the sudden press of the knife against her skin, she just slowly opened her eyes to see my eyes without any fear instead. The lack of trying to help her to survive this was enough to scare me. Didn’t she know
that I was about to murder her?
Isabella stayed quiet as she looked at me coldly. It almost looked as if she was unimpressed. However, I tried to shake it off. If she wasn’t scared to die, she wouldn’t fight me back, at
least
“Well, fine then. This will be how the next few minutes are going to pass,” I slowly talked to her.
“You’ll tell me what I want to know. If you do that, I’ll maybe let you die with your organs still on your body. However, if you want to make it more difficult for me to get the answer-”
I quickly directed my knife down to her hand where her fingers were as I nicked the skin at a joint, making it bleed. Immediately, Isabella narrowed her eyes ever slightly. Nevertheless, she surprisingly didn’t even jolt, which was something that felt so unnerving to me. It seemed that she had seen a slight hesitation from my end because she showed a reaction by making her lips into a slight smirk. That same look on her face really made me want to punch her. How the fuck she was able to smile in such a dire situation like this
one?
“What the fuck is actually wrong with you?” I asked, my anger started to be heard from my words.
“Are you really this fucking psycho?”
At least, she didn’t even bother to pretend to be a poor victim this time. Still, everything felt off even though she had shown me her true colors. Her voice didn’t even sound as sweet as usual.
“Coming from the girl who paid someone to stalk me for two
years, isn’t that a bit rich? Not to mention, you’re trying to attack me before your future Alpha.”
“Well, at least, I’m not a killing piece of shit like you!” I retorted angrily.
However, Isabella just simply raised an eyebrow at me as she looked down on where my dagger was hovering over her hand. I was ready to cut her at any moment.
“Don’t you dare to start any bullshit,” I told her as I hissed while I quickly moved the knife back to her throat because my patience started to fade.
“Both of us knew what you did to Ava. Just confess. Confess that you murdered Alva and had some plot to overthrow our pack. Just confess that you’re a fucking filthy rogue!”
Instead of responding to me, Isabella just began to laugh at me. Very loudly, in fact. Her laugh happened so suddenly that I couldn’t help but jolt a bit much. Her reaction felt like she was mocking me.
“Stop that! What the hell is so funny?”
Even though Isabella tried to quiet herself down, I still could see that her eyes were watering with tears because she laughed so hard.
“You don’t really know anything, do you?” she asked as she kept laughing.
“Here I was worrying that you had somehow found everything out two years ago. But, it turned out that you only thought that I was a rouge.”
Again, she began laughing. This time, she laughed even harder. I swore that I could feel myself red because of how angry I was.
“Enough!”
