Luna Reborn by Juliet Swanson Chapter 16

Chapter 16
“You might not be aware of it, but I’m this freaking pack’s Luna of the next generation. You are not permitted to command me.” I yelled at her.
He broke free of my hold and looked at me with startled eyes. His face obviously grew paler as everything began to make sense to him.
“Hold on, what? Do not claim to be Winona….” The loud cry of a small girl, sobbing out just inches away, instantly silenced him.
It’s Ava!
I became terrified.

IN
I wondered what I simply did. I hadn’t even seen Ava arrived since I was so mired in a pointless dispute. My feelings might have contributed to the unfortunate passing of a young girl.
I instantly leaped to my feet, followed by Bash and we both looked about. The four wolves immediately surrounded her as we noticed them in my own eyes. Even though I was happy to find her alive and well, I felt miserable on the inside, constantly replaying the horrifying scene I had witnessed in school. I was certain that the brown wolf would leap at any moment and murder her in a matter of seconds, shedding her blood pointlessly.
Honestly, I was unwilling to see her suffer again. I was ready to flee, cry, and fight. So, I was forced to continue.
“Initially take out the brown one.” To shake off my nervousness, I exclaimed to Bash.

Without even pausing, he leaped out of the bushes and dashed at the biggest wolf. The four wolves glanced up and were startled to find someone rushing at them, however they happened to be too slow to strike back. The two instantly engaged in a tumbling battle for dominance when Bash pulled the brown wolf to the ground.
The other three instantly started to surround the fight, looking for a chance to knock Bash to the ground. They rushed at him, snapping and growling, but his movements were too swift. He avoided them with ease and didn’t give them any opportunities.
While they were preoccupied, I used this as a chance to sprint to Ava. She was lying on the floor, obviously disturbed by what had happened. Every part of her was shaking and I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to convince her to get up. Once she entered the forest today, she most likely had no idea what to anticipate.
“Ava,” I hushed and gave her upper body a light shake. She jerked back from my contact and glanced up as if I had just blasted her with lightning.
“Calm down,” I replied, raising a finger to my mouth. She eventually recognized me as her face lit up with excitement. She quickly grasped hold of my clothing and pulled me into an embrace as cries instantly began to fall.
“Ava, please don’t cry,” I muttered and started to slowly withdraw. “We must go away first.”
I started assisting with Ava’s body as she stood up and bowed her head shakily. Her body trembled across mine and I noticed frigid perspiration forming on her body’s surface. I had to secure her for protection as soon as I could even though she was in fear and had difficulty walking.
To assist Bash, I had to return. He was trying to buy some time,

but I could tell he wouldn’t be able to manage all four by himself for very long. As unexpectedly her foot hooked on the stone under her, we were nearly out of the area. It seemed to be such a bizarre situation, like stuff from a film.
Among those situations, where terrible things occur and you could only watch them play out ahead of you in slow motion, I observed Ava tumbling to the floor in close proximity to me. Then, as I anticipated what I believed would come next, my whole being stayed in place. Until the wolves stopped howling behind me. Similar to how I had shielded Isabella prior to death, I seized Ava’s arm and dragged her shoulder to her legs while keeping her head in my palms.
“Ava,” I managed a hushed, before yelling. “Go.”
Ava began racing across the forest, whether it was from an adrenaline rush or the realization that she had truly lost her mind. Knowing that she now had a better probability of surviving, I was glad to see her leave. However, I noticed perhaps one of the wolves approaching toward me.

They were nearby. It was too sudden. I realized that it had been no use to try to resist back at this point, so I did what I could. I rapidly fell to the ground and landed flat into the earth. My body was inches away from being struck by the silhouette of a sandy–colored wolf as it leapt over the top of mine hardly a moment after my upper body impacted the floor. Their muzzle curved into a growl as they turned to confront me.
I realized how unready I had appeared for the circumstance after getting a closer look at them, but it looked like quite late at this time to acknowledge that Bash might have been correct. They raced for me to get what they wanted, leaving little time to analyze and evaluate the scenario. Quickly, I attempted to pull myself back

and raise my leg, side–sweeping the people with a terrible thud as I did so.
They let out a loud, contented scream before limping off into somewhere else to rest. I seized the chance to stand up and sprinted farther toward the empty space to gain some separation.
Bash was still engaged in combat with the biggest wolf to my side. His motions did appear to be a little delayed than the other wolves, though neither appeared to have gotten a competitive edge yet. He was eluding the other two while battling the brown wolf. I didn’t know precisely how much further he would be capable of enduring. Soon the sandy wolf grumbled drawing my focus once again on him. He was furious, then I noticed that he intended revenge for the ineffective blow I had delivered to him.
I immediately stiffened both legs and got ready to get going, but he did precisely what I anticipated. He made another try to rush at me. The second time, I was prepared and I was able to get away without incident. Tragically, he didn’t allow me any opportunity for assault before turning around and taking defense. Knowing that he was prepared, I might have attempted any maneuver over him. This continued for some time, eventually turning into a
monotonous struggle between the sandy wolf rushing and me evading.
He was going to grow more forceful when I managed to dodge each maneuver with a startling degree of quickness. The problem was the reality that nobody of us was gaining any ground in our offensive confrontations with one another. Soon, all that was happening within the empty space was an act of rushing and whirling, much like Bash himself was doing.
“You must flee now!” During a couple of minutes, I noticed Bash shout out.
Chapter 16.
“And abandon you alone to perish?” I answered.
“Yes, why not, I suppose.”
Sandy wolf took pleasure in the reality that I was off–guard by getting his jaw dangerously close. His teeth were practically brushing my skin as I felt them cut through my clothing.

Fortunately, I moved back a few steps just in moment to put some space between us once more.
“Do you even realize what will occur if you die here?” he roared for a second time.
“You could genuinely ignite a conflict because of Benjamin, in addition to what might occur to me for allowing the Beta’s daughter to be slaughtered. It really wasn’t the right moment to shout that Benjamin wasn’t going to give a damn if I was killed.”
“Quit thinking about me, just concentrate on yourself,” I command. I yelled out indignantly as the sandy wolf strike once more drew extremely nearby. Even though I could feel the strength quickly waning, I persisted. I had very well screwed up on assaulting at the moment and was simply doing my utmost to survive. Every single muscle in my entire body felt sore and I felt as though my airways were on fire from the inside. Despite the fact that I could see my opponent’s motions slowing down as well, I was aware he was capable of survive me times over using his entire wolf skills.
“Winona, don’t be so foolish! You act exceedingly irresponsibly yet saying that you would prefer to be addressed like a young person.”
“Irresponsible? You moron, I’m doing everything to keep you alive! Would you like to have all four wolves turn on you? Since you don’t look great at all, buddy.” But before I could continue, a sharp pain in my shoulder made me start yelling. My flesh was deeply punctured by fangs, which pulled me to the floor. My immediate

instinct was to swivel my head to look at the strange wolf that possessed me, but I was pressed for time.
I automatically made an effort to remain cool as the sandy wolf began leaping back to me from the opposite direction. I observed how he shifted, how his muscles propelled him forward and the manner in which he left his skull exposed with little defense. He might have been too thrilled when he saw me knocked out by his friend and assumed I didn’t need to defend myself. I stopped him in his tracks by pulling my lower part up and catching his skull within my legs as he swung and attempted to strike me in the neck. He was thrashing across my body and his throat was now stuck, unable to get out. I maintained a benefit over him, though.
Without thinking, I took profit from his situation and wrapped every inch of my legs as I could around him, pinning him to the floor. When the sandy wolf realized what was happening, he gazed toward me with broad eyes. He continued to exert all of his effort to loosen up, but I clung on fiercely and wouldn’t let go. As the following wolf saw what was happening behind me, he started to bite me harder and even started shaking me to get me to release my grip. I sobbed in agony, tears running down my cheeks, but I managed to hang on.

I was aware that I had to stop. Now. Prior to it being too late. I gathered all the power I had left in one rapid motion and grasped the sandy wolf’s face fiercely. I took hold of his face and gave him one final glance before snapping his neck and murdering him in an instant.
When he saw one of his pack members slaughtered, the wolf beneath me swiftly got off of my shoulder and howled with cutting fury. And even though I did have a small amount of sympathy for him, I had to put my own security first. I hurriedly rolled outside the wolf’s strike area and attempted to stand up, yet my legs wouldn’t

cooperate. They would simply shake as I attempted to stand up, causing me to drop back to the floor. I swore silently. My body felt completely worthless, and it appeared as though I had exhausted all of my surviving ability to defeat the sandy wolf. Even though the drained limbs were sufficiently serious, the blood was more worrisome. My shoulder had been deeply bit and it was progressively pouring out.
I was aware that it would require immediate medical care, but for the time being, I had to do everything in my power to slow it down. I wrapped the injury with my palms in an ineffective effort in order to halt it and I pressed as hard as I could on the cut. But as soon as something even more concerning came to my knowledge, this turned out to be the simplest of my problems. A thing that made me feel uneasy since I was able to sense approaching footsteps.
The steps got increasingly nearer until I was staring upward at a dark gray
wolf’s furious blue eyes that were drilling into mine. They lacked any capacity for sympathy or pity.
There it was. At that point, there was simply little opportunity for me to get away.
Ok. I’m so dead.
