Alexander’s POV
I saw her angry expression as I walked away and went the other way. I think what’s worse than being angry is being conflicted within your anger. Wondering whether your anger was even justified. And the only reason I felt this way was because my words had made her cry yesterday. It was crazy, I know and I didn’t completely understand why I felt that way. Was it because although I was angry with her, my wolf was in tune with hers and her feelings?
I shook that off like I always do when any thought of us being mates makes its way into my head or when my wolf throws a tantrum over me shunning her. Hopping on a treadmill that faced the space where Blake and Isabella were training, I started off on a slow jog as I watched them. She still looked pi ss d, which I noted from her pinched lips and wrinkled forehead. This was what I wanted. I wanted her to be mad so that we can both forget about my words hurting her. I’d rather she concentrate on being angry instead.
I slowly increased the pace of the treadmill until it was at its highest and I was basically flying. I could run on the treadmill for hours non-stop. When I started as a teenager, it was because I thought it was a fun and easy exercise but in the long run it really helped strengthen my calves and make me the fastest wolf in the pack in both human and wolf form. Of course, I was also a great fighter and good with my defense but I was proud of my speed the most. I was positive that no wolf could outrun me.
Blake and Isabella were wrestling and Blake kept succeeding in pinning her down and I could see it made her angrier and angrier

by the second. I shook my head. You don’t fight with sentiments, everyone knows that. If you fight with anger, you’ll definitely get your as s thrown. Like Blake read my mind, I heard him advise Isabella to calm down while she just threw up her hands before excusing herself to find the bathroom.
I fought the urge to go after her, telling myself that it was because I wanted to make sure she didn’t run off meanwhile I was mainly trying to suppress my wolf and the urge to go after our angry mate.
Instead, I just ran faster and forced myself to count to ten. I pride myself on being a very calm person but I can’t say I was very calm right now. She came back a few moments later, the crease in her forehead smoothed out and her lips no longer in an angry pout giving her face a neutral look and making her mood
undecipherable. I reduced the pace of the treadmill, needing to catch my breath for the first time in years of using the machine.
I saw Blake throw her a bottle of water which she caught easily making a hint of a smirk appear on her face. I raised my eyebrow at that. After drinking, she dropped the half-empty bottle to the side before going to her and Blake’s training area. Blake moved first, as he had mostly been doing but for the first time, Isabella dodged before immediately going for a counterattack. She took Blaze by surprise and had him on the ground in seconds but he was up just as quick.
A grin broke out on Isabella’s face and I nearly lost my footing. I don’t think I had seen her smile since the day we met at the club and well, it was beautiful.
I increased the speed on my treadmill once more as their fight started to get tougher. Her face had gone neutral once again and she was displaying some really good moves which just meant that
her anger had indeed been slowing her down and whatever pep talk she had gone to give herself had really worked.
One second she was on the ground and Blake would be about to pin her down when she’ll fight her way back up again and vice versa. It was so intriguing that others had stopped what they were doing to watch them.
Mason and Caleb soon walked in and I finally got off the treadmill, throwing my towel around my neck before going to sit on a bench while they came to sit beside me. We exchanged greetings and handshakes and I nearly’ missed Isabella finally throwing Blake to the ground before sitting on his back and twisting his arm behind him. This time the entire room of guys chanted the countdown together and when they got to one, Isabella threw her arms in the air before laughing loudly.
“She’s hot.” Mason suddenly commented and Caleb turned to him, eyes wide,
“Dude, I was going to say the same thing!” He yelled and they shook hands to that while my body grew tense and it took everything in me not to locate the nearest punching bag and throw punches till either the bag tore or my knuckles bled.
“Loser!” I heard Isabella say to Blake, a grin plastered on her face.
“I let you win.” He shrugged to which she cackled.
“The only four words a loser knows.” She said, making Blake chuckle before he took a jab at her stomach which she dodged. “Wanna go again?” She asked, looking quite excited.
fting next.”
“Um, nah. I think I’d like to do some heavy lifting
Isabella raised a brow at that before shaking her head, chuckling,
“Chicken. You’re just scared I’ll beat your a ss again. Besides, your annoying friend asked you to train me today. Remember what you told me about ‘not disobeying Alpha’s orders?”” She smirked and Blake groaned.
“I can’t believe Blake finally got serious enough to get himself a girlfriend,” Mason said.
“I know, right? She totally owns his a ss!”
I glared at both of them. “She’s not his girlfriend.” I gritted out.
They both turned to give me questioning yet suggestive looks, “Is she yours?” Mason asked, to which Caleb burst out laughing.
“If she is, it’ll definitely be a match made in hell.” He said.
I managed to keep myself from lashing out at that comment and demanding what on earth he meant by that but walked away to take a seat on the bench press instead. When I sat, I cursed myself for choosing this position cause I could still see Isabella and Blake clearly. They were training again but mostly talking and laughing together. I hated it and I hated that I hated it.
“I’m going to introduce myself to Blake’s girlfriend,” Caleb said, wiggling his eyebrows at me while Mason just looked at me questioningly before getting up and following Caleb.
“Impressive performance!” Caleb clapped to which Isabella raised her brow. It was obvious she was wary of new faces. So why has she cozied up to Blake already? I shook my head at that thought and continued with my workout. “Blake, introduce us to your girlfriend.”
Blake chuckled, “Isabella is not my girlfriend guys. Isabella, meet my friends, Mason and Caleb.” Isabella simply nodded. “Yeah,
Isabella doesn’t really get used to people very easily and she also breathes fire from time to time.”
The guys just chuckled and nodded while Isabella glared at Blake, “Breathes fire?” She said, glaring at Blake.
“Sorry, Izzy. I didn’t mean to say that out loud.”
Isabella coc k ed her head, “Izzy? Nobody has ever called me that.”
“Glad to be the founder,” Blake said to which she just rolled her
eyes.
Deciding to ignore them, I pushed myself harder until I began to feel the sweat roll down my chest. I had long gotten rid of my shirt during exercise and when I felt her eyes on my body, I nearly faltered and hurt myself.
My eyes flickered to her but just then, Blake grabbed her leg, causing her to fall. Mason and Caleb had left them for a while now to go and do some workouts of their own while Blake and my infuriating mate were at it again. They had continued their workout and although my eyes have been on her this entire time, it was the first time she would let her eyes roam and set her gaze on me.
And now that I could feel her eyes on me, it seemed to make my body go up in flames. I breathed heavily as I struggled to raise the bar, this last time. Mason suddenly loomed over me before grabbing the weight from me and setting it back in place.
“Dude, are you okay?” He asked, looking concerned.
“I’m fine.” I snapped before twisting myself to a sitting position. He didn’t look fazed though.
“Is this about the girl?” He asked and I turned to glare at him, my

gym.
