Chapter 35 Kidnap
Cecilia vividly remembered that before she passed out from a sudden pain in her neck,
she saw unmistakable hatred in Maeve’s eyes.
Oh no, Jace!
Cecilia tried to wake up in a daze, but the intense pain at the back of her head made
her consciousness hazy.
Various scenes flashed through her mind, her past with Theo, and her entirely new life
after “death“. Finally, she saw Maeve’s fierce face.
“Jace!” Cecilia made a strenuous effort to open her eyes, enduring the pain in her body.
Using her hand to support herself, she sat up.
“Where am I?” Surrounded by darkness, her eyes gradually adjusted to her surroundings, squinting her eyes to observe everything in the room.
The room was strewn with debris, and rays of sunlight revealed floating dust particles.
She now realized she was in an abandoned warehouse.
Standing up and surveying the warehouse, she found no suitable hiding place. The urgent task at hand was to establish contact with the outside world, otherwise, she would
remain out on a limb.
“Jace… Has Maeve discovered my baby?” Cecilia leaned weakly against the wall, anxious about her child’s safety.
While she was still searching for an opportunity, the warehouse door suddenly creaked open. The sudden influx of light instinctively caused Cecilia to close her eyes.
Shielding her eyes with her hand, she could vaguely make out the silhouette of a woman approaching. “Maeve?” Cecilia involuntarily called out the name upon seeing the
person.
“Shut up! How dare you call my name?” Maeve cast a disgusted glance at Cecilia. It was this bitch, the one who had taken everything from her.
Maeve had wisely left Theo after he discovered the truth, never daring to appear in front of him. Otherwise, given Theo’s temperament, she would have died countless times by
now.
The heavens still favored her. Who could have Imagined that she would accidentally discover that Cecilia was still alive?
Just as she was about to take action, however, Theo found Cecilia. Maeve could only wait for the right moment and luckily, now she seized the opportunity.
“Maeve, what exactly do you intend to do? Cecilia was no longer the gentle and weak her from a year ago. She was a mother and she had a child to protect.

“What I intend to do? Of course, I wish you would disappear forever. If only you had
truly died a year ago, it would have been so much better. Why do you have to appear before
us again?”
Maeve glared hatefully at Cecilia. If she hadn’t shown up in front of Theo, as long as
she played her cards right, he would still be hers!
Cecilia sneered. No matter how much time had passed, Maeve still remained as
despicable as ever.
“Maeve, you’ve misunderstood. It’s not that I appeared before you, it’s Theo who sought me out. Besides, if you had won his heart, how could he have driven you away, right? Oh, by the way, has your uremia improved?” Cecilia mocked her. Anger surged as she thought of
the time Maeve almost took one of her kidneys.
“Humph! Cecilia, I hope later you can be as talkative as you are now!”
As soon as the words left her lips, Maeve clapped her hands, and a man entered,
holding a baby.
