“Just arrived. Have I interrupted your conversation?” Theo asked coldly, maintaining a
distance between himself and Maeve.
“Theo, what’s wrong? Why are you so distant? I’ve been in great pain these past few days! And my sister, how is she?” Maeve hoped that Theodore had just arrived and didn’t
catch any of her words.
Only then did Theo raise his head, casting a meaningful gaze upon Maeve.
Dr. Nolan, sensing the weird atmosphere, hastened to say he had an urgent matter to
attend to and turned to leave.
“Dr. Nolan, please wait a minute. I have something to ask you.” Theo called out to Dr.
Nolan before he could depart.
