Chapter 10 Morgan Warns Me Not to Befriend Rogue Wolves
Katheryn’s POV:
I groggily opened my eyes, realizing that the pain in my head wasn’t as intense anymore. I wasn’t feeling too dizzy either. I felt quite comfortable, a warm sensation spreading from
within.
As I glanced at the familiar ceiling, I knew I was back in the bed of the rented house. When I looked beside me, a fluffy brown head was resting on the edge of the bed. Will was holding my hand, fast asleep. I stared at him, a warm feeling surging in my heart. Remembering the last scene before passing out, I knew Will must have brought me home.
Wait, what was it that I felt before passing out? How did the pain in my body disappear so quickly? A wave of excitement – rushed over me, and I called out, “Thea, Thea?”
However, it was like throwing a pebble into the ocean. There was no ripple, not even an echo.
I sank back into desolation, realizing it was just my imagination. I withdrew my hand, and Will woke up immediately.
He blinked at me, instantly revealing a caring smile. “Katheryn, you’re awake? How do you feel?”
“I’m fine.” I shook my head, but then something dawned on me, and I looked at him in confusion. “Will, how did you

up at the bar last night?”

“I was worried you wouldn’t be safe on the way, so I secretly followed you to the bar and waited outside,” he confessed, his eyes still filled with concern.
I didn’t doubt his explanation for a moment. Instead, I was relieved that he had come. Even if I died on the streets, at least someone would find my body.
“So… I didn’t do anything weird when I was drunk, right?” I asked tentatively. My alcohol tolerance wasn’t great, and I had no idea if I had done anything I shouldn’t have last night.
Will paused, seemingly recalling the events of last night, then. shook his head. “No, you… just fell asleep quietly.”
Hearing this, I breathed a sigh of relief, “That’s good.”
He stared at my face and cautiously reached out his hand to lightly touch it. Worriedly, he asked, “What happened at the bar last night?”
I bit my lip, recalling the humiliation I experienced when I was forced to drink and the beating I received, almost on the verge of being raped. My breathing became rapid, and my stomach clenched. But when I thought about Will still watching me, I forcefully suppressed my emotions, not wanting him to worry about me,
So, I lied. “I met a drunk guy and we got into an argument. He slapped me.”
Will’s eyes were fixed on me. After a moment, he pursed his lips and said, “Next time you come across those jerks, just
come to me, and I’ll take care of them, okay?”

I was amused. Yeah, I’ve got myself a badass little brother. “I’ll remember that for next time.”
He pouted, and I ruffled his hair. Goodness, his hair was so soft! I looked at him and felt a sense of calmness settling
within me.
I took a day off and quickly returned to work. I kept pondering what that feeling was at that moment. If it wasn’t my wolf coming back, why did I feel this nostalgic and warm sensation? Since I started living with Will, my nightmares had disappeared, and I slept peacefully. But every time I woke up, I would see Will kicking off the covers. He probably didn’t sleep well. I needed to save up money to buy him a bed.
As for my mother’s ring, I sighed heavily while sweeping away the fallen leaves. Escaping the clutches of that pervert was already a stroke of luck. I didn’t have the money to redeem my mother’s ring.
Gradually, my eyes welled up, and I stopped, rubbing my eyes. When I opened them again, a familiar face stood across the street. She looked at me with concern, tears shimmering in her eyes. “Katheryn!”
I immediately turned around and hurried away. No, I had to pretend not to know this girl. It pained me to think so, but I couldn’t keep involving her.
She followed closely behind me, calling out my name in urgency. “Katheryn!”
Morgan rushed forward, “How long are you going to hide from me?”
“I didn’t…” I felt guilty, my voice barely audible.

“I heard that bitch Jessica wants to sell you!” Morgan erupted in anger. “Is it true? That devil, I’m going to teach her a lesson!”
“Don’t go.” I finally stopped and persuaded her, “Morgan, they’ll throw you in jail too.” I choked up, saying in pain, “Don’t come looking for me. Don’t try to help me…”
Morgan said in disbelief, “Why? Aren’t we friends anymore?”
I looked at her with sadness. Morgan was my close friend from school. Three years ago, she gave up joining the military and instead defended me, a murderer, searching everywhere for evidence to prove my innocence. She not only lost the opportunity to become a female warrior but also offended many people in the process. Her parents deeply resented me.
“Morgan, those days of fighting side by side are long gone. You deserve a life of your own.”
“This isn’t like you. The Katheryn I know isn’t someone who hesitates and tiptoes around,” Morgan said angrily. “Did your father say something to you again?”
I fell silent.
Morgan walked up to me, unwilling to give up. “Are you still resentful that my parents sent me away?” Morgan said guiltily. “They lied to me. I thought I would only be gone for a few months, but I never expected… it has been two long years.”
“I heard you got out of prison and came to find you right away. Where are you living now? How about I move in with you and we live together?” Morgan held my hand with bitterness.

“I just…” Tears welled up in my eyes, and I said sorrowfully, “I just don’t want to drag you down anymore.”
“Oh, come on, don’t cry.” As Morgan spoke, she started crying
too..
Not long after, the two women were sobbing with their heads. in their hands on the street. But no one cared about what they had been through.
It was dusk, and the evening sky was blood–red. Something was whimpering, dying, accusing all the unfairness in the world..
After I vented my emotions, I wiped the tears from my eyes. There was still someone standing by my side, like the person in front of me.
I calmed down and told Morgan, “I want revenge.”
Morgan’s expression was resolute, and she immediately responded, “Good, that’s my good friend.”
“By the way, I’ve taken in a little brother. His name is Will, and he’s a Rogue wolf…”
“What?” Before I could finish speaking, Morgan interrupted me excitedly, “A Rogue?”
“He’s powerful in battle. Maybe he can be useful,” I explained.
Morgan opened her mouth wide, and she questioned, “Rogue wolves are only banished if they’re unforgivably wicked. Do you know why he was exiled? How can you be sure he doesn’t have any ulterior motives towards you?”
That reminded me. Will only told me that he had no family

But I said firmly, “He’s a good guy. He was the one who picked me up from the bar last night and brought me home. He’s staying at my place now.” I believed Will was a good person. After all, I had nothing left but a miserable life, and there was nothing worth Will’s attention.
“He’s staying at your place?” Morgan’s face displayed
disbelief, then she angrily exclaimed, “Where is he now? I want to meet him!”
