Chapter 9
Zora’s POV
Throughout the way, the men dragged me forcibly. Seeing wounded and dead wolves on the ground everywhere really broke my heart. What had Cruz done to bring a whole disaster to our entire region? I couldn’t help but wonder while I was trying to fight the tears that wanted to come out of my eyes. The Dark Lord Alpha was indeed extremely ruthless. Now, I started to see why people were really afraid of him.
Soon enough, I was dragged to the border between the Magic Fang and the Moon Light Pack. In that area, a massacre greeted my eyes. There were lots of warriors who were killed. Only then I realized that only wolves from our sides died when I looked at them. There weren’t any Northern wolves who died. Again, I couldn’t help but wonder who trained these Northern wolves as well as making me feel scared of the Dark Lord Alpha.
Where the hell was Hardy? That Alpha was supposed to support our region if something like this happened to us, but he wasn’t even here with us. Meanwhile, I couldn’t even grasp how many lives were affected
because he didn’t help us.
There was a white van waiting for me. The men who dragged me then opened the door, ordering me to enter the van. Without question, I obediently did what they ordered me to. My initial goal was to leave Casey, not getting murdered by these men. After I had seen the sight along the way, I had decided that I couldn’t upset these Northern warriors.
As I sat down, I was surprised to see that there were other familiar people in this van with me. Someone then knocked the side of the van twice, signaling for the van to start the engine.

“So, Casey gave you up to them, too?” Kara, one of the familiar faces, asked me which made me frown at her because I didn’t get what her question was.
I also noticed that Eloise didn’t even look like she was pregnant.
“Well, I mean that Casey gave you to these guys as a peace offering for the Dark Lord Alpha so that they can leave him and Lori alone to spare your pack,” Kara explained her question that got a shake of my head as a response which surprised her.
“Casey didn’t give me up. He actually shifted to fight in order to protect us, but those guys really overpowered him. They were very close to killing him, so I gave myself up instead.” I told her which shocked her
even more.
“Are you crazy, Zora?” Kara asked me again and that got me a frown as well.
“How can you sacrifice yourself? You’re a f ucking good warrior. Both of you would’ve stood a chance to fight these men together,” she continued. but I was barely able to hold on my tears as I remembered the real reason why I gave myself up.
“I’m just too tired for everything, Kara. I can’t even take it anymore.” I told my friend as tears fell from my face.
“Zora, you should’ve stayed. No matter how bad it was, you’ve got it way much better compared to Eloise and I. If only our husbands didn’t give us up, we would actually give up everything to stay in our packs. Whatever you were experiencing with Casey in your life is way better than being the Dark Lord’s trophy and s lave. Your husband really cared about you and he still respected you. You told us yourself that he laid with you for four nights in a week, Zora, while I almost didn’t get one. Casey’s love to you is real. It’s indeed f ucking messy what the fate had set to both of you, but you should’ve fought next to him to stay in your pack,” she explained

calmly as she gently wiped my tears away that made me look at her.
“Casey got Lori pregnant, Kara,” I told her as I started to cry again.
At this point, there was no use for me to hide my true feelings. I no longer had any shame to hide myself. For me, it was the best decision to show it all.
“For five f u cking years, he took precautions with me. He told me that he wasn’t ready, yet he got her pregnant in months. I can no longer be a third wheel. Now, they are already a family. Casey has indeed proven that he would never surrender or give me up. But I have to do what’s the best for all of us. His heart is no longer for me. Everything he did is out of duty. Now, both him and Sage are free to stay with Lori to live the lives they had ever wanted. That’s why I’d rather risk my chance to be with the Dark Lord Alpha. Nothing can hurt me as bad as fate did to me,” I explained to them, causing Kara to nod her head weakly as she looked at Eloise who kept her silence all the way through.
“What’s wrong with her?” I asked Kara quietly as we couldn’t mind-link since our hands were chained by silver chains.
“Since I entered, Eloise has been real quiet. Her pack was the first pack to go down. Unfortunately, she lost her baby because of the stress and malnutrition. After that, Cruz chose her as his Luna to be given away to the Northerners as a peace offering. Shepherd did the same for me. That man took his bi t ch to the shelter and asked me to stay and fight. When he realized that they were too strong, he eventually gave up and gave me to them. If these people knew that we were no longer the Lunas, they would be fuming mad,” she said as she put on a light smile.
“Just like you, I feel that life in captivity will be much freer compared to my life in my pack,” Kara continued.
After that, I just leaned forward as I gently caressed Eloise’s lap. She then looked like she woke up from her reverie as she looked at me. The woman then started to weep. Cruz really broke her so badly that she would never

be the same. I went to sit next to Eloise so that she could rest her head on my shoulder. She leaned her head as she kept crying.
Although Eloise didn’t even say a single word, Kara was the opposite as she complained all the way through. Several times, we made long stops that made me wonder what they were doing while they stopped. But we couldn’t see or know what they were doing at the various stops because they didn’t let us leave the van.
Eventually, Eloise fell asleep which was followed by me gradually. Then, I could feel someone tapping me that woke me up. That was when I found myself leaning on Kara’s shoulder. The woman was still awake. It seemed that I had slept all through.
“They want us to get out of the van,” Kara told me as I was still looking around in a daze, then recalling what had happened.
As soon as the van door opened, Kara was the first one to get out of the van who then was followed by both Eloise and me. When I saw that we were in a hangar, I couldn’t help but be surprised. A jet was already waiting for us.
“Get in, Lunas! Don’t keep us waiting!” one of the men yelled.
I already knew that the north was very far, so I couldn’t help but feel grateful that they really prepared the jet instead of torturing us even more by driving all the way to the north.
“Not all the captives get this privilege, so move faster!” the same man shouted as he pushed Eloise to move.
“Hey, take it easy. Can’t you see that she’s sick?” I told the man in order to defend Eloise.
However, the man just walked up to me as he grinned. That man then landed a painful slap on my cheek. It really hurt me because I wore silver chains, so I was really sure that his hands were printed on my cheek.

“Bi tch, this isn’t your pack anymore and you aren’t even my Luna. You’re only a f u ckin g trophy, a glorified sl ave. If you dare to talk back to me again, I’ll make it worse for you,” he calmly warned me, but I made sure to remember his face because I would never let him get away easily.
Nobody could slap me and get away with it. While I had made up my mind by not joining my husband to light with him, I wouldn’t also let anyone mistreat me.
