My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 579

Chapter 579
Steven whispered a few words to her, then took his drink and went to the men’s side.
Clair was very elegant. She stood there, and even without any action, people could still feel her nobility. Recalling Skyler’s words, Kaylee took the initiative to strike up a conversation with Claire.”
Clair turned around, saw Kaylee with a group of girlfriends, smiled, and said, “Kaylee, long time no see.” “Are you well?“, Kaylee whispered. “I’m really sorry about what happened before.”
Clair thought for a moment–probably Kaylee had already been reprimanded when she got home.
So she smiled and said, “Liam has apologized for you. It was unintentional on your part.”
Kaylee was surprised.
Her brother actually spoke for her?
In an instant, she liked Clair much more; just this point alone was much more pleasing than that annoying Celeste.
Thinking that this person might become her sister–in–law in the future, she couldn’t help but warm up.
“The dress you’re wearing is really nice; whose work is it?”
“You mean this?” Clair smiled slightly and said, “This is my own design!”
Kaylee looked surprised and said, “You’re so talented; it suits your temperament very well; it looks like an haute couture piece from a brand.”
As soon as Kaylee said this, her other girlfriends also started to compliment her.
Although Clair had seen a lot of this in foreign countries, dealing with these socialites was naturally a piece of cake. She spoke appropriately, neither too close nor too distant. She was well–mannered and always maintained the restraint that a socialite should
have.
At the same time, Liam had been waiting downstairs at Celeste’s apartment for an hour.
He frowned at the time and took out his phone, intending to call.
Nicolas stopped him and said, “You don’t have the patience; how are you going to woo your ex–wife?”
“She told me to pick her up at five; it’s already six! Don’t I have enough patience?”
“It’s only an hour, have you forgotten about the times when you were cold–shouldered for days when negotiating a deal? You were so patient when it came to business, but you don’t have patience when waiting for your ex–wife?”
Nicolas leaned against the car, lifting his eyelids to say, “She’s going to spend a lifetime with you; what’s a few hours of waiting? Besides, she’s getting dressed up to see you, so you should be happy. If she really didn’t care about you, she wouldn’t bother with makeup.”
Liam insisted, “She’s getting dressed up for the birthday party!”
She didn’t even bother to peel off her face mask when facing him.
“Think about it: when she appears at the venue, everyone sees how beautiful your ex–wife is. Who would dare introduce you to lousy prospects? This way, their ideas are stopped. Maybe your ex–wife is dressed so beautifully because she has this in mind.”
Liam was drawn into his logic, thought carefully, and felt it made sense.
Thinking that Celeste was dressing up so beautifully to prevent others from introducing him to prospects, Liam suddenly felt it was okay to wait for her a little longer.
At a little after six, Celeste finally came out of the apartment.
Her hair was done up all prim and proper, her makeup was on point, and she was rocking this long, purple gown that went all the way down to her ankles. The sleeves had this semi–see–through design along with some ruffle details, and the dress even had a high slit on
the side.
As she moved, her long legs would occasionally peek out. It was like she was somehow managing to be both classy and sexy at the
same time.
As she strutted her stuff, folks around couldn’t help but sneak a peek
