My Rich Hot and Infertile (Or Maybe Not) Husband Chapter 552

Chapter 552
The text came from Nathan.
Clair was a bit taken aback.
What test results?
It took Steven a good fifteen minutes to drag Liam back.
He looked a bit off–color and started complaining as soon as he sat down, “This guy Liam, man, his tolerance for alcohol hasn’t improved one iota in all these years!”
He swiped open his phone, paused at the sight of the text, then immediately dialed Owen’s number.
After hanging up, Clair finally spoke, “Bro, we can just drop Liam off, why trouble Owen’s assistant at this hour?”
“Why should we be his chauffeurs?” Steven took a swig of his drink. “He’s a single dude, you’re an unmarried lady. Hanging around with him isn’t good for your reputation.”
Clair looked exasperated and mumbled under her breath, “Such old–fashioned thinking!”
Soon enough, Owen arrived.
He thanked Steven and Clair, took Liam off their hands, and even picked up the bill before leaving.
Steven sighed, “Liam can be a bit of a blockhead, but he sure has an eye for people.”
Like his assistant, who’s a thousand times better than Nathan. Why didn’t I hire someone like Owen?
“What’s so dumb about Liam?” Clair shot him a glance. “You’re just jealous because Dad always praises him!*
Steven…
After they got home and Clair came out from her shower, she sat on the bed, toweling her hair, and somehow, the text she saw on Steven’s phone popped back into her mind.
She pursed her lips, tossed the towel on her lap, and shot Nathan a WhatsApp message.
“Nathan, you up?”
Nathan had just got home when he saw the WhatsApp message and quickly replied, “Yeah, what’s up, Clair?”
Nathan and Clair were old schoolmates. He always called her ‘Miss‘ in public, but referred to her by her first name in private.
It was Clair’s own request, saying she wasn’t used to being called ‘Miss‘. It felt weird.
Having witnessed Clair being bullied in their younger days and knowing about her health issues, Nathan always had a soft spot for her “Is Steven feeling unwell these days?”
“Seems fine to me. Mr. Garcia didn’t mention anything about not feeling well.”
Clair typed, “Met a friend for dinner today, they said they saw Steven at the hospital a few days ago. If he’s fine, why did he go to the hospital?”
“Oh, that. Mr. Garcia wasn’t there for a check–up, he was there for the new talent’s medical exam. He wanted to make sure everything was fine.”
Well, he was actually there to sneak a peek at Ms. Campbell, but of course, Nathan wouldn’t spill the beans.
“Didn’t the company only sign a few new artists recently? Was it really necessary for Steven to personally make a hospital visit?”
Nathan thought to himself, how else was he going to get a look if he didn’t show up?
But he said, “Maybe it’s because this new signee, Ms. Campbell, saved you once. Mr. Garcia seems to care a lot.”
Clair was taken aback. The person who had the medical exam was Celeste?
She replied, “As long as Steven’s okay. You should get some rest.
After closing WhatsApp, Clair suddenly stood up from the bed, tossed her towel aside, and headed for Janis’s room.
After meeting with Detective K, Celeste hurried to the set to shoot her scenes.
Zach Miller was thrilled that she had won the lawsuit and rewarded her with two extra hours of filming.
Celeste was the busiest on set, so every time she showed up, Zach would seize the opportunity to film as many scenes as possible.
By the time they wrapped, it was already the afternoon of the next day.
