Chapter 84 Who Do You Think You Are
Freya was pulled out of the bar by Radley.
He walked fast with anger in his heart.
When they reached the door of the bar, Freya stumbled.
Radley, who was filled with anger, stopped for a moment and slowed down his pace.
After they got out of the bar, Freya pursed her lips and said. “Thank you for helping me today. I can go home by myself.”
His face was dark as he pulled her to the side of the car and opened the passenger door. “Get in.”
She frowned. “Radley, I won’t hold you accountable for what happened in the past since you helped me twice. We are even now. What gives you the right-”
Before she could finish her sentence, he suddenly leaned over and placed her between the car and his
arms.
His breath contained a hint of restraint. “Get in the car.
She gritted her teeth. This man was unreasonable!
But she decided to let it go and got into the passenger seat fumingly.
He closed the door and stepped on the gas, away from the bar.
The night was quiet, and the scenery outside the window was retreating.
Freya turned her head to look at him. In the dimly lit car, Radley’s deep eyes were reflecting the light of the flickering street lights.
Both of them remained silent until the car stopped in front of Kaufmann Residence.
Freya thanked him and prepared to get out of the car.
However, the door was locked. She turned to Radley. “Open the door.”
His face was gloomy. “Don’t go to bars anymore.”
“It’s none of your business.” Her forehead was twitching.
He turned to look at her. “You don’t need me to help you when you’re being harassed? You’re my-
“Ex-wife.” Freya interrupted him and her eyes were cold. “Mr. Monaghan, who do you think you are? After the divorce, do you think you still have the right to control me? Is it your male pride at work?”
He pressed his lips tightly and stared at her.
“Did you really forget everything?”
His voice was inexplicably low, and the atmosphere in the car suddenly became silent.
After a few seconds of silence, she calmed down. “Radley, when I woke up after the accident, hearing about
our past was like listening to a story. I didn’t feel like I was the person in that story, but it doesn’t change the fact that you are a sc”mbag who hurt me,”
She knew that her amnesia was probably a psychological barrier that her body had created to protect herself.
To trigger such a mechanism, she must have suffered a lot in the past.
“I think it’s good to forget. It doesn’t affect my life. You saved my life before and helped me today.”
Freya looked at Radley. “So I am willing to forgive you, and you are indeed a good business partner. But I hope you won’t appear in places outside of work in the future.”
Radley’s thin lips moved slightly.
Freya sighed. “I’m leaving. You should go to the hospital.”
He watched as she got out of the car and suddenly asked, “Why don’t we get to know each other again?”
“There’s no need.” She turned around and smiled. I’m doing well now. Actually, I can’t even begin to understand why I liked you before. You’re not my ideal type now.”
After the facial recognition system at the entrance of the Kaufmann Residence recognized Freya’s face, the door automatically opened up.
She walked in, and the door closed behind her.
Radley sat in the car. the blood on his forehead had dried up.
His deep eyes were tightly furrowed. If he wasn’t her ideal type, then what was her ideal type?
The Kaufmann Residence.
It was late at night when Freya arrived home. The butler greeted her and informed her that Braxton had already gone to bed. He asked if she wanted to have a midnight snack, but she declined and went straight to the second floor.
Back in her bedroom, she went up to the terrace and could see the estate outside. There was a black car parked in front of the gate.
Radley had not left yet.
Freya’s heart skipped a beat.
She had previously claimed that Radley was not her type, but she found herself attracted to him.
It was no wonder that she had suffered so much in the past.
At the gate of the Kaufmann Residence, Radley finished his cigarette and kept his eyes fixed on the villa.
He watched as the light in a room on the second floor turned on, and a figure appeared on the terrace, looking out in his direction.
His eyes narrowed for a moment before he smiled. It was a mesmerizing smile that could thaw the ice and
revive the dead.
Freya claimed not to care, but she still did to some extent.
Radley’s previously melancholic mood lifted.
He started his car engine and drove back to Smalzot Yard after the figure on the terrace had disappeared into the house.
He was skilled in this aspect of business warfare, and his heart was slightly moved, but he also reminded himself to be patient, very patient.
He had to be cautious not to scare her away.
This time, what he desired was something he had never had before.
Three days had passed, and Freya took Braxton with her to the Kaufmann Group every morning.
She had started taking some traditional medicine that was good for the fetus.
The day after the bar incident, Isabella called Freya and said that Chris had sent her home. Her parents. were happy and thought that the match had worked out despite it not happening officially.
Freya was exasperated and told Isabella what had happened that night. She ordered Isabella not to go to the bar again, and she only relented after Isabella made some promises.
At the Kaufmann Group.
Freya was reviewing documents and she glanced up at her brother sitting on the sofa not far away.
She then looked back at the mountain of documents in front of her, and her mouth twitched slightly.
“Brax, although your leg may not be good, your brain is still working, right? Why don’t you take a look at some of these documents?
She asked him if he could help her with some of the documents, but he refused. Freya was annoyed because it was his job in the first place.
Braxton looked up from his tablet, where he was watching a football match, and joked, “If you beg me, I’ll help you out. How about that?”
Freya gritted her teeth. “Did you forget that this was originally your responsibility?”
Braxton covered his head and complained, “Ah! Every time you scold me, I feel a bit dizzy!”
Ayden, who was standing nearby, held back his laughter and said, “Miss Kaufmann, it’s always the busiest time for the company at the end of the month. It will be over in the next two days.”
Braxton wanted to give Freya a chance to learn, so he decided to let go of the reins and not interfere.
She was quite angry. She knew that if he had helped her by reading some of the documents, her workload. would reduce significantly. Now, she had to spend the whole day at the company.
In the evening after work, the exhausted Freya and the energetic Braxton got into the car and headed back.
to Kaufmann Residence.
Later that evening, she complained to their mother about Braxton’s laziness on the phone and asked about her grandmother’s health.
She was relieved to hear that her grandmother was doing better.
After hanging up the phone, she received a message from Radley.
“Tomorrow’s weekend. Remember to attend the meeting at the Joint Department.”
Freya took her work seriously, and she replied, ‘Got it.
Radly replied, “Take care.”
Freya frowned. The text Radley sent was cleverly worded. It sounded like it was polite but it also sounded like he was crossing boundaries at the same time.
She fell silent and didn’t reply. Then, she put her phone away.
