I was too stunned to speak after hearing all that.

too bad about it.” Chris tried to console me.

I decided to have the ultrasound photo placed behind my photo on my tomb
when the time came.
After that, I returned to my ward and headed straight to bed. I wanted to
sleep and not think of anything for the time being.
As I was about to doze off, I heard the soft click of the door locking.
The sound woke me up instantly. I climbed out of the bed and hurried over to
the door. Just then, I spotted the door handle turning. A few seconds later,
someone pounded on the door hard.
I heard Chris‘ voice from behind the door. “She’s not here.”
Liam’s voice came the next instant. “Open the door.”
“You won’t find her here even if you turn the place inside out.” Chris went on,
“There’s no way your wife would have come to our hospital in the first place.
We’re located very far away from the city center.”

There was a loud sound as someone slammed on the door again. Liam said.
in a slow, menacing voice, “Enough with your chattering. I want you to open
the door.”
“I’m sorry. We’re disinfecting the room at the moment,” Chris replied.
There was a short, deafening silence for a while. Then, I heard a huge
commotion outside.
“Mr. Mendez, please calm down. You don’t have to resort to violence…”
“Please calm down! Someone get the director here…”
Is Liam beating Chris up again?
I wanted to go out and stop them, but the door was locked.
After a while, the noises died down, and someone opened the door.
