Chapter 32
She looked happy and drew me inside by grasping my arm.
The interior of the cafe was very lovely. The rear side of the café had a tiny terrace with plants encroaching over the partitions and railing. Although the building might appear a little outdated from the exterior, the inside had been renovated by something that was really contemporary and
cozy.
Since I was unable to really conceal my silver hair and violet pupils among the remaining wolves, the waitress who welcomed us at the entrance was shocked when she recognized me. However, I kept encountering an identical attitude among retail sellers throughout the morning, so it seemed simple to dismiss her response.
The waitress took us right away to a place with the terrace, where we were able to view the greenery, greatly to our surprise, several of the surrounding hills in the faraway also could be seen. I had a great time since it was undoubtedly the greatest spot in the room. It served to be a pleasant perspective of how big and varied our pack, as well as the land we lived in.
“Which one will you order?” When we were all settled, I questioned. Ava looked at the menu with much consideration.
“Seems that this place remains offering morning dishes around this hour, so perhaps an eggs benedict or omelette?”
Each of them looked like rather obvious options, however I
got my sights set on a thing considerably superior.
“Then you?” Ava couldn’t help asking.
“I will order the chicken nuggets and fries.”
Ava gave me an unidentified look. “Winona, that’s a kid’s menu.”
“Huh? Is it just available for kids? When I inquire, will they create it into a big portion?”
“Actually, do you have any reason to choose that?” she questioned bewilderedly. “Many finer alternatives besides that.”
As I gave it some consideration, I realized that she probably regarded my decision as strange. Ava, however, failed to fully get my background or how I had been raised.
“To tell you the truth, that is the dish that I shouldn’t enjoy at home, so it is the very initial moment for me to be free and decide whatever I intend to consume with no feeling compelled. If I have mentioned to my mom, I want to enjoy that meal, I believe she will be shocked.”
Her expression softened as she fully realized. I appreciated Ava, because she didn’t press the matter anymore.
In fact, I had never enjoyed an unhealthy meal such as junk. food. Even in my previous life, where I should follow a strict diet after becoming a Luna. When I reached adulthood, I had to avoid touching fatty food for the sake of pleasing Benjamin. However, I had established an entirely different life as well as had reached the best shape of my life. I didn’t need to attract anyone and lived a life with no luxury. There was no
requirement to rationalize it deeper within my mind. I would be glad to eat that nugget.
After some arguments, the waitress finally gave in a bigger portion of the food with a few odd glances.
Well, I didn’t mind it.
After getting the food, I took a first bite on it, then suddenly, I felt that it was the most joyful moment in my entire life. Ava observed me as I was eating, her expression interested about my response, though I never allowed her gaze to interrupt me enjoying my meal. I was going through something that was totally unfamiliar which was very wonderful to have a favor of
“So, when will you start the story?” she eventually questioned, when I had just wrapped up spending time with my meal.
Naturally, I got the thing she wanted. Ava was requesting me to follow the agreement I made.
Then I began to explain everything that had occurred, including the way I found Bash location, along with the way he didn’t have intention to speak about the reschedule to me properly, also how Bash had initially behaved as though I was doing something improper. Lastly, I explained to Ava the reason why he left without even greeting me.
She calmly absorbed everything then nodded. Ava listened in silence quite a while until I was done.
“In that case, it’s not only Bash who is mistaken, but also you,” Ava stated.
I exhaled. “I will not argue against that assertion. You see that
I’m going to apologize, though it seems like I’m late now. He is unwilling to chat with me now, that’s quite apparent.”
A slight wrinkle appeared across Ava’s eyebrows, as she seemed to be contemplating when she moved and leaned her chin into her palm on the desk.
“A single issue, nonetheless, that fails to appear logical for me,” she remarked. “You appear to become truly agitated about the matter rapidly at the moment.”
I instantly had a lot of anxiety while unsure of which way to respond. “That’s actually….”
“Well,” Ava started her conclusion, “I see that you are upset when you encounter Bash, so….”
Ava sat up straight in the seat, while considering whether she should pose the question she planned to or not.
It made me able to state with full clarity that I couldn’t anticipate her following question.
“Are you… feeling… envious because you like him?”
Considering the seriousness when she was taking the subject, it likely came out somewhat rude, however I was not able to resist it and I started giggling out loud.
“Me? Like him?” I questioned as I continued giggling. “Ava, I think I am someone who shall ask this question, right?”
Her face turned red. “What do you mean?”
I moved in nearer and asked her with a raised frown. “You suppose I have no idea the way you consistently look at Bash with such large gazes? How do your cheeks red every time he
is nearby?”
“You’re wrong,” Ava tried to deny it.
“Your face is actually burning red as you speak over it,” I commented.
Ava attempted to conceal her visage by placing her palms around it.
“Winona, stop making fun of me,” she asked.
I chuckled even more. “All right, I will quit. I apologize.”
Being envious seemed like a stupid thought. I previously suspected that Bash was known because of his playboy behavior.
“Well,” I started drinking the beverage, because my vocal chords became extremely hoarse from giggling so loudly. “I currently deal with numerous guy problems. Don’t you lose track of who Winona is?”
Ava was perplexed for quite a brief moment until realizing what had happened. “Oh, okay. I neglect because we rarely discuss the additional half of your story. Benjamin, isn’t it?”
I blinked. “It is, unluckily.”
“Unluckily? I believe that each girl’s fantasy is to be mated with the Alpha. They seem so powerful, attractive, also….”
“Overbearing,” I completed it before her. However, I didn’t share the craziness, emotionally unstable and psychotic thing about him with Ava.
“Really?” she inquired, suddenly wondering. “Well, I haven’t
known him, so I can’t say.”
“I believe the majority of the pack simply views him as the model they portray him as being. They must promote him because he will eventually lead us.”
When I reflected on the fact that I had foolishly thought in a comparable manner as Ava, I shuddered within. A teenager particularly enjoyed speaking about how fantastic it was going to be when mating with an Alpha. To be precise, I mated with Benjamin who was the appealing successor Alpha of our Pack. Moreover, every lower-ranked girl was hoping to be Luna someday. However, since the Elders revealed the prophecy regarding Benjamin and I, their expectations of it were immediately destroyed.
“Alright, everyone doesn’t get it if you hate him. You two might not even end up becoming mates. That’s simply the Elders declaration only, correct?”
A different fit of laughing, that was wanting to leave out of my mouth, had to be suppressed. That was going to be difficult to convey the general humor about me getting imprisoned by Benjamin for my whole life, then reincarnated, so Ava definitely did not get what was amusing. Even I had attempted, but failed to negotiate the matter with a Goddess.
I only smirked at her. “I hope so.””
We spent the time by shopping once again. Ava also was trying to make me buy some new clothes, so I agreed, just to make her happy instead of being willing to buy it because of how the dress looked. That weekend turned out to be a very enjoyable time, until we didn’t realize that it was already evening.
After driving Ava home by taxi, I was able to come back on time. Helen was overjoyed when she had witnessed me arrive securely as well. However, she appeared clearly happier after my dad gave her the other cheque for that lesson, which showed a stronger positive effect for her disposition.
During the next weekdays, classes continued as usual. After parting with someone who used to play an essential role in my daily activities, I was forced to admit that I was getting a bit lonely within. I carried on training each day, pushing myself further while employing the methods Bash had demonstrated to me, though I soon realized that with his absence, my performance wasn’t progressing as swiftly as I had intended. I realized there was nothing that I could modify, therefore I would simply keep going by using the resources I had possessed.
Sometimes, I found that I continued to scan the school’s hallways to search for his familiar visage. Then, every part of myself was upset when nobody was present. I had to acknowledge that Bash was no longer there.
After a delay of several months, that date eventually came.
On this date, I was scheduled to obtain affirmation regarding the Goddess mark, along with becoming a ‘Saintess’
I will try my best to change my destiny.
